Sir Anduin Lothar

The Lion of Azeroth, Armsman of the Brotherhood of the Horse

Sir Anduin Lothar, the Lion of Azeroth, last of the Arathi, Knight Champion of the Kingdom of Azeroth, and leader of the Alliance of Lordaeron forces was taken from the midst of battle by a mysterious force. Confused he found himself in a world called the Nexus. Trying to find a way back to Azeroth, Lothar's honorable nature stops him whenever someone needs help in this strange new world, and wherever evil wakes, Lothar shall be there to fight!

Combat Trait

Horseman
If Lothar has more than 50% HP, he may use abilities, attack and receive damage while mounted. Damage is reduced by 15% while mounted.

Primary Abilities

Charge!
For 2 seconds, Lothar's speed is increased and he pushes away nearby enemy units and heroes when passing by, dealing X damage to them.

Defend
While activated Lothar's movement and attack speed are reduced, but has a 65% chance to block basic attacks. (toggle-able ability)

Duel
Forces the targeted hero to only be able of attacking or using spells on Lothar, the targeted hero receives 10% more damage. Lasts 3 seconds.

Heroic Abilities

For Lordaeron!
Allied heroes within x range receive 25% increased basic attack damage and 50% reduced damage for 5 seconds.

Taunt
Enemy heroes within x range are forced to attack or use abilities against Lothar for 5 seconds. Lothar receives a shield equivalent to 75% of his maximum health during that time.

Lothar may only use Horse Mounts (This includes Unicorns, Nazeebra, Tyrael's/Malthael's ones)

Level 1 Talents

-Block
-[Q] Chivalry: Charge damage increased by X.
-[Trait] Horse Training: Minimum health required for mount-attacking reduced to 40%. Receive healing regeneration while mounted
-[E] Swashbuckler: Increases attack speed by 10% while Dueling

Level 4 Talents

-Vampiric Strike
-[E] Sword Breaker: Upon applying Duel to an enemy hero, its Basic Attack Damage is decreased by 45% for the duration of the Duel.
-[Q] Finesse: Charge cooldown reduced by X, and increases duration of Charge by 1 second.
-[W] Improved Shields: Defend also grants a shield

Level 7 Talents

-Mercenary Lord
-Battle Momentum
-[E] Dueling Tactics: Adds a 25% chance to evade the enemy attacks while on Duel
-Infantry Training: Increases basic attack damage by 25% when unmounted

Level 10 Talents

-[R1] For Lordaeron!

-[R2] Taunt

Level 13 Talents

-Burning Rage
-[W] Magic Shield: While Defending damage from enemy Abilities is reduced by 35%
-[E] Arch-Enemy: Dueling duration increased to 5 Seconds
-[E] Focus: While dueling, become Unstoppable

Level 16 Talents

-Blood for Blood
-Imposing Pressence
-[Q] Ramming: Enemies hit by Charge have their speed reduced by 25% for 2 seconds and receive additional X damage.
-(Active) Gallop: Activate while mounted to gain 75% Movement speed for 5 seconds.

Level 20 Talents

-[R1] To Arms!: Calls 2 Knights to fight alongside your allies when casting "For Lordearon". The Knights may be targeted to a particular enemy. The Knights last for 7 seconds before departing.
-[R2] Heroic Sacrifice: If Lothar is killed under the effects of Taunt, he respawns at half the time he should. Cooldown reduced by 10%
-Hardened Shield
-Master Horseman: Lothar may use his mount inmediatly. He also heals by 10% of his maximum health when doing so if he's below 50% max HP.

Skin Ideas

Normal Skin: Will probably be younger lothar from warcraft 1, because that's the main character of the upcoming movie. One of the recolors could be white haired to make a reference to older Lothar.

Older Lothar could also be an alternate skin too.

@Chatpelier: Interesting suggestions.

I'd say that yes, Defend could do with a rework... I've been thinking something along the lines of " While activated Lothar's movement and attack speed are reduced, but he receives a 50% damage reduction. The first attack received is fully blocked"... So yeah, less of a chance thingy. (It also makes it more similar to Wc3 defend)

I'm not completely sure what you mean with the stances... Is the off-stance always active (unless defending)?

I guess we could make Duel "auto-target" AoE and skill shots. The problem I have with the target not being able of using that is that it could render some heroes helpless, could be a bit too harsh.

Agreed completely on the Taunt part. 4s sounds good.

Post duel debuff sounds nice... I was also thinking of adding a Level 1 talent called "Reflect" that gives a chance to reflect damage while defending.

After doing Alleria, I was thinking of Lothar, but this is a nice concept here ! I like it.
I might have a few suggestions though :

- As far as I like "Defend"'s idea, wouldn't it be more appropriate to reduce a percentage of damage, than relying on luck here ? The drop in movement speed is a good enough handicap to make it similar to a permanent Block at 65% imo.
Since Defend is very situational (well, Duel+Defend), I'd say it'd be logical to have 2 stances on W. The "normal" one would give a passive bonus to either attack speed or attack damage. Switching to Defend would remove it ofc.

- For "Duel", I'd say the target can only use auto-attacks and single target (non skill shot) spells during that time. If not, aoe and skill shots would ruin this.

- If "Taunt"'s cast is instant, i'd say 4s and not 5s. The reason is Mosh Pit (ETC), it lasts 4s and has a 0.75s cast time, but the enemies won't attack him. The area of effect could be a bit more important, but 4s seems right to me.

- "Sword Breaker", I'd modify it a bit, because it seems overkill to me (moreover with "Dueling Tactics"), and the name indicates something else imo. How about applying a damage debuff (say 30 or 35%) for X second AFTER the duel ends ? Lothar breaks the enemy's weapon after winning the duel.

Here it is. Of course those are only ideas. The concept is really fun, and he might be one of the only warriors I'd like to play. :)
