Sylvanas

Rework

Sylvanas has a few problems in the game, primarily her trait and talents. This rework is how I think she could be changed to fix those problems. I posted it on the forums under my account Devilhunter, but unfortunately people don't look at Rework suggestions on the forums. Hope you like it.

Stats:
Health: 1639 (+4%)
Health Regen: 3.42 (+4%)
Mana: 490
Mana Regen: 2.90
Attack Speed: 1.67
Basic Attack Damage: 90 (+4%)

Change: Health and Health Regen increased by 15%.

Combat Trait

Black Arrow
Basic attacks slow minion's, mercenary's and structure's attack speed by 50% for 1 second.

Change: Black Arrow lowers attack speed by 50% instead of stunning.

Primary Abilities

Withering Fire [Q]
Charge Cooldown: 2 Seconds.
Shoot the closest enemy for 60 (+4% per level) damage, preferring Heroes.

Gain 1 charge on nearby enemy Minion or Mercenary deaths, and 3 charges on nearby enemy Hero deaths.

Stores up to 5 charges.

Change: Damage increased by 25%.

Shadow Dagger [W]
Mana: 75
Cooldown: 10 seconds

Deals 37 (+4% per level) damage and an additional 148 (+4% per level) damage over 2 seconds to the target unit. The effect spreads to nearby targets.

Change: Cooldown reduced from 12 to 10 seconds.

Haunting Wave [E]
Mana: 75
Cooldown: 11 seconds

Send forth a wave of banshees dealing 114 (+4% per level) damage to all targets. Reactivate to teleport to the banshees' location.

Heroic Abilities

Wailing Arrow [R]
Mana: 100
Cooldown: 90 seconds

Shoot an arrow that can be reactivated to deal 228 (+4% per level) damage and silence enemies in an area making them unable to use Abilities for 2.5 seconds. The arrow detonates automatically if it reaches maximum range.

Mind Control [R]
Mana: 75
Cooldown: 60 seconds

After a 1 second cast, take control of an enemy Hero's movement speed, reduce their armor by 25, and prevent them from doing anything else. Channel lasts 2.5 seconds.

Change: Added 25 armor reduction during Mind Control.

Updated Talent Tree:

Level 1 / Crowd Control Tier:

Overflowing Quiver - Withering fire stuns an enemy hero for 0.5 seconds if used with 5 or more charges. Cannot trigger more than twice every 5 seconds.



Dreadful Wake - Haunting Wave now silences enemies it hits for 1 second.



Overwhelming Affliction - Black Arrows now applies to heroes, slowing their movement and attack speed by 4% for the duration. Stacks up to 5 times. Increase the duration of Black Arrows by 50%.

Level 4 / Withering Fire Tier

Withering Barrage - Increase Withering Fire's maximum charges by 1. Charges can be fired 33% faster.



With the Wind - Increase Withering Fire's range by 25%. When you hit an enemy hero with Withering Fire, gain 6% movement speed for 2 seconds. Stacks up to 5 times.



Setup - Shadow dagger replenishes 3 charges of Withering Fire. Basic attacks and Withering Fire reduce the cooldown of Shadow Dagger by 0.4 seconds.

Level 7 / Siege Tier

Barbed Shot - Withering Fire deals 200% bonus damage to Minions, Mercenaries and Monsters.



Mercenary Queen - Friendly non-Boss mercenaries near Sylvanas deal 75% more damage and take 25% less damage.



Possession - Force an enemy Minion to fight for you. Stores up to 3 charges.
26/04/18: Replaced unstable poison with Possession



Lost Soul - Reduce Shadow Dagger's cooldown by 1.25 seconds each time it spreads to a hero.
Changed: Cooldown reduction increased to 1.25 seconds.

Level 13 / Defence Tier

Life Drain - Shadow Dagger deals extra damage to heroes equal to 1.5% of their maximum health and heals Sylvanas by the same amount.



Windrunner - Teleporting with Haunting Wave fully recharges Withering Fire. Haunting Wave can be cast a second time for free within 5 seconds after teleporting.



Will of the Forsaken - Activate to become Instoppable and gain 40 armor and 40% movement speed for 3 seconds.
Changed: Also grants 40 armor.

Level 16 / Damage Tier

Eternal Suffering - Increase the duration of Shadow Dagger's damage over time by 1 second. Sylvanas' basic attacks and Withering Fire against heroes hit with Shadow dagger extend the duration by 0.5 seconds, up to a maximum of 3 seconds.



Cold Embrace - Shadow Dagger lowers the Armor of the initial enemy by 25 for 2 seconds, causing them to take 25% more damage.



Remorseless - After basic attacking your next Withering Fire deals 40% more damage. After casting Withering Fire your next basic attack deals 40% more damage.

Level 20 / Storm Tier

Deafening Blast - Enemies at the center of Wailing Arrow's explosion take 50% more damage and are silenced for twice as long.



Dark Lady's Call - Mind Controlled enemies gain 100% Movement Speed for the duration. If the Mind Controlled enemy dies while under its effect Mind Control's cooldown is reset.
Changed: Added cooldown reset.



Queen of the Forsaken - Upon taking fatal damage a Val'kyr sacrifices herself to prevent it and restore 10% of your maximum health. Gain a Val'kyr follower every 60 seconds. You cannot have more than 3 Val'kyr followers at the same time.



Ranger General - Activate to teleport to a nearby location. Cast withering fire on all nearby enemies after teleporting. Cooldown: 80 Seconds.

Basically removing her trait and making her into a ****ty assassin wouldnt fix her.

She kind of has to become more similar to an assassin though. Blizzard makes it pretty clear in every patch that her trait is problematic for the game, and there aren't really too many ways to rework a trait like this, either it stuns buildings and is an oppressive snowball tool or it doesn't and feels underwhelming. This was the best way I could think of fixing her since it would try to keep her structure pressure and make her feel like she actually does something in team fights other than firing her ultimate and walking away.

I know it's iconic but it's just so unusably bad in it's current form. Maybe it could return as a level 7 talent or a baseline ability but honestly in it's current form it just doesn't do anything so I didn't think it was important enough to include. I wanted to concentrate on other aspects like her current kit and the fact that almost every talent tier has one option with an above 50% pick rate.

Possession is my favourite talent though. I actually possessed 6 catapults once and they alone destroyed a full health keep. It also makes it much easier to take down enemy building because you have more minions to help damage their structures.
