Teron Gorefiend (In progress)

The First Death Knight

Originally a member of the Shadow Council, Teron was slaughtered with many other Warlocks and Necrolytes by the Warchief, Orgrim Doomhammer when the Shadow Council was discovered. In an attempt to prove loyalty, Gul'dan offered to create new soldiers of the Warchief who were loyal to the Horde. Infusing the remains of Knights of Stormwind with the spirits of the very Necrolytes that the Warchief had slain, the Death Knights were born. Teron Gorefiend was the first to rise and fought for the Horde until his demise in the Second War.


Gorefiend is a specialist, focused on area damage and minions to help him claim mercenary camps or push lanes.


Intended pros:
-Excellent lane pushing and structure damage through heroic abilities.
-Capable of taking early mercenary camps with minions to tank for him.
-Sustain through Death Coil.

Intended cons:
-Weak 1v1
-Frail
-Lacks crowd control outside of heroic abilities

Combat Trait

Touch of Darkness
Drains the vital forces from enemies struck by Teron Gorefiend's basic attacks, reducing their attack speed and increasing their damage taken briefly. Only one target can be debuffed at a time.

Primary Abilities

Death Coil
After a brief delay, fires a volley of projectiles at a target enemy and nearby enemies, dealing X damage divided evenly among the targets struck. For each enemy slain, Gorefiend and his Skeletons are healed by Y. Maximum of 6 targets struck.

Notes: Long cooldown, otherwise the single target burst would become overwhelming.

Unholy Armor
Places a shield around a friendly target. When cast on minions and mercenaries, the mana cost is removed and instead costs 20% of the target's maximum HP and shields them for twice that amount.

Raise Dead
Passive: When a nearby minion dies, their remains linger for five seconds.

Active: When cast, consumes all nearby remains to raise a number of skeletons. While those Skeletons are active, they will follow Gorefiend. (Maximum 5)

Stats-wise: Skeletons will have about the same health and damage of comparable minions.

Secondary Abilities

Haste
Increases the movement and attack speed of an allied hero or mercenary. When cast on Teron's skeletons, all are affected.

Riders of Karabor
Level 20 Talent: Passively summons a Rider of Karabor periodically, up to a maximum of 3. The Riders will roam the map with a focus on pushing stronger lanes and aiding allied heroes in taking mercenary camps and objectives.

Heroic Abilities

Death and Decay
Channels unholy magics over an area, dealing damage to all caught in the area, costing X mana per second channeled. Area damage effect persists for three seconds after channeling is ended. Deals increased damage to minions and mercenaries.

Level 20 Talent:
Enemies damaged by five consecutive ticks of damage from Death and Decay are stricken with fear and flee from the center of the effect.

Whirlwind
Summons a large, swirling vortex that roams around the area, dealing area damage to enemies caught in the path.

Level 20 Talent:
Re-activate Whirlwind to give it direction. Increases damage by x%.

Talents (In progress, taking suggestions)

Level 1:
Improved Death Coil: Reduces Death Coil's cooldown by 1 second per enemy struck.
UNNAMED: Gorefiend's minions deal .2% additional damage for each minion slain, up to a maximum of 5%. On reaching maximum damage, Gorefiend's maximum skeletons go up by one.
Twisted Defense: Unholy Armor deals X damage per second to nearby enemies.


Level 4:
Unholy Touch: Touch of Darkness now heals Gorefiend for X% of damage dealt.
Avoidance: Skeletons take reduced damage from area of effect abilities based on the number effected.
Improved Unholy Armor: Casting Unholy Armor on Skeletons applies it to all Skeletons, but instead costs 25% of each Skeleton's health.


Level 7:
Haste
Death's Advance: Friendly heroes with Unholy Armor active gain a slight boost to movement speed.
Improved Unholy Armor: Increases the shield amount on Unholy Armor by 20% for heroes and 40% on minions and mercenaries.
On a Pale Horse: Gorefiend remains mounted in combat, but gains only 10% movement speed while in combat. Full mount speed regained through mount activation.

Death and Decay

Level 13:
Mortal Coil: Enemies slain by Death Coil are risen as lesser Skeletons which will instead push down the nearest lane and last 10 seconds.




Level 16:
Shadowy Constructs: Raise Dead now summons Shadowy Constructs, which apply a stacking Atrophy debuff that increases damage taken by x% (max 5 stacks.)
Skeletal Warriors: Increases the health of Skeletons by x% and grants them a cleave attack.
Skeletal Defenders: Gorefiend gains a stacking damage reduction buff for each active Skeleton.
Skeletal Archers: Skeletons now gain a ranged attack, but have reduced health.


Level 20:
Cry Havoc: Enemies affected by five consecutive ticks of Death and Decay flee in horror, moving away from the center of the effect. Increases damage by x%.
Howling Fury: Re-activating the spell now gives the Whirlwind direction. Increases damage by x%.
Riders of Karabor: Summons a Rider of Karabor every 120 seconds who roams the map independently, focusing on pushing the stronger lanes. Will engage certain objectives and neutral mercenaries if allied heroes are also engaged on it. Treated as a heroic summon. (Max 3 active)
