Tethys (Complete Concept)

Fleet Admiral

Bio:

Following the death of former Bloodsail Buccaneer leader; Firallon - Tethys tok up the role as Fleet Admiral and became the new head for the Bloodsail. Despite their major setbacks which has been the result of the Adventurers of Azeroth's doings against their activities: they still held strong as a powerful and wealthy group of Pirates. Once the pressing matters of the Legion arrived and Lord Jorach Ravenholdt seeked out strong Rogues to unite with him in the forming of The Uncrowned; Fleet Admiral Tethys was among the ones that was called inn and by realizing that the Bloodsail would struggle alone against the Legion - He picked up on Ravenholdt's offer and became one of the leading figure heads of the Uncrowned while still serving as Fleet Admiral for the Bloodsail.

As the Nexus called upon champions to rise and fight - Tethys decided to answer the call: Having seen most of what Azeroth could offer and knowing that the world was in safe hands due to the Adventurers; he now seeks new ground to plunder, new allies to share drinks with and most importantly - New enemies to spar with in order to keep his swashbuckler skills up to par.

Tethys take up the role as a mixed Melee and Ranged assassin whom utilizes combat skills that the most refined of Outlaw Rogues can wield. While not holding the ability to blend into the shadows and stealth; he wields the means to switch between Melee and Ranged combat. He utilizes hit Extra Ability Button (1) to switch between Melee and Ranged focus, doing this also switches around his abilities. His Trait (D) switches Passive effect depending on his Stance yet his Trait active function does the same regardless if he is ranged or melee focused.


Baste stats:


- Base Health: 1801 (+4 % per level)
- Health regen: 3.57 (+4 % per level)


- Energy: 100
Combo point capacity: 6


- Speed: 4.39

Basic attack:


Tethys switches between attacking with his Saber and Rapier or his Pistol depending on what stance he has active

- Base damage: 139 (+4 % per level)
- Attack speed: 1.24
- Attack range: 1.5 / 5

Combat Trait

D - Roll The Bones
Melee Passive: Landing Consecutive Saber Slash's against the same hero will increase the damage they take from Dispatch by 5% up to a maximum of 20% - This effect is removed when Dispatch is used; regardless of what target Dispatch is used on.

Ranged Passive: Pistol Shot has a 10% chance to refresh the cooldown on your Quickdraw and cause it to cost no Energy for 3 seconds.

Activate: Spend all of your current Combo Points on rolling 5 dice. This will grant you a buff which lasts for 6 seconds per combo point used. There are a total of 6 different buffs that can be obtained and when using Roll the Bones and you will gain a buff depending on what Dice that has the most face-ups. If there are two sets of dice with the same buff, you will be granted both buffs. Should all 5 dice be different: You will gain all buffs.

The buffs you can obtain are:

Jolly Roger: Saber Slash and Pistol Shot has a 25% chance to strike an additional time, this does not generate a combo point.

Grand Swashbuckler: Increase your attack speed by 50% and cause your basic attacks to heal you for 25% of the damage dealt.

Shark Infested Waters: Gives your abilities a 25% chance to strike for double the damage.

True Bearing: Each time you use a combo point move, you reduce the time remaining on your abilities and trait by 1 second for each combo point spendt.

Buried Treasure: Grants you 50% energy regeneration rate.

Broadsides: Your combo point generating abilities now generates 1 additional combo point.

When you have any number of buffs active from Roll The Bones: Casting it again will replace your old buff(s) with the new one(s).

Cost: 1-6 Combo Points.
Cooldown: 1 Second.

Primary Abilities

Q - Saber Slash
Instantly lash out at the target with your saber, dealing 171 (+ 4% per level) damage to the target.
Awards: 1 Combo point.

Energy: 25
Cooldown: 6 Seconds.

W - Blade Rush
Leap toward your selected target, lashing out with both your saber and rapier which causes you to deal 209 (+ 4% per level) damage to all targets in front of the landing position.
Awards: 1 Combo point per hero hit.

Energy: 45
Cooldown: 5 Seconds.

E - Dispatch
Instantly strike your target, dealing damage depending on the amount of combo points spendt.

1 Point: 80.
2 Points: 160.
3 Points: 240.
4 Points: 320.
5 Points: 400.
6 Points: 480.

Damage increased by 4% per level.


30 Energy.
Cooldown: 1 Second.

Q - Pistol Shot
Draw your pistol and fire a shot at the target, dealing 171 (+ 4% per level) damage to the target-
Awards: 1 Combo Point.

Energy: 30
Cooldown: 5 Seconds.

W - Quickdraw
Rapidly fire multiple shots from your pistol in a small frontal cone, dealing 209 (+ 4% per level) damage to all targets within the targeted cone.
Awards: 1 Combo Point per hero hit.

Energy: 40.
Cooldown: 6 Seconds.

E - Between The Eyes
Pull out a Blunderbuss and shot your selected target, dealing damage depending on the amount of combo points spendt.

1 Point: 80.
2 Points: 160.
3 Points: 240.
4 Points: 320.
5 Points: 400.
6 Points: 480.

Damage increased by 4% per level.


30 Energy.
Cooldown: 1 Second.

Secondary Abilities

1 - Weapon Draw
Activate to switch between Melee Mode and Ranged mode.

Melee Mode utilizes Melee basic attacks with the abilities:

Q - Saber Slash.
W - Blade Rush.
E - Dispatch.


Ranged Mode utilizes Ranged basic attacks with the abilities:

Q - Pistol Shot.
W - Quickdraw.
E - Between The Eyes.


Cost: 0 Energy.
Cooldown: 1 Second.

All combo points are lost upon switching stance.
Roll The Dice buffs are not lost upon switching stance.

Heroic Abilities

R - Plunder Spree
Select an enemy hero and enter a short lived frenzy where you rapidly leap between close enemy heroes up to 5 times. If there are 5 hostile heroes within close proximity, each hero will be hit once, yet if there are less heroes, some may be hit more than once. All of these leaps can strike the same hero 5 times.

Each leap lands you behind the chosen target, deals 140 (+ 4% per level) damage and causes you to cast a Blade Rush for each leap done. This Blade Rush only deals damage to additional targets - nothing on the main target which the leap was landed on.

Energy: 75.
Cooldown: 100 Seconds.

R - Cannon Barrage
Mark a location which will come under cannon fire for the next 10 seconds. Within the marked location, cannonballs will randomly rain down, dealing 190 (+ 4% per level) damage to any hostile unit hit. These cannonballs can not hurt allied heroes.

While Cannon Barrage is active, each of your Basic Attacks becomes ranged and deals damage equal to what your Pistol Shot usually does.

Energy: 75.
Cooldown: 120 Seconds.

Talents

Level 1




Bottoms up - Quest:

Gathering regeneration Globes increases Tethys's energy regeneration rate by 0.1 per second.

Reward: After collecting 25 Regeneration globes, increase Tethys's maximum Energy to 130.




Swashbuckler Extraordinaire - Quest:

Stacking the Dispatch damage increase with Saber Slash and then consuming the buff on the appointed target while at 20% increased damage will increase the damage of your Saber Slash by 5 up to a maximum of 100 increased damage.

Reward - 50 Bonus damage: Saber Slash now also slows the target's movement speed by 25% for 3 seconds.

Reward - 100 Bonus damage: When using Dispatch; You will also silence the target for 0.5 seconds per combo point spendt.




Stolen Ammunition - Quest:

Using Pistol Shot on the same target at least 4 times followed by using Between The Eyes will increase your Pistol Shot damage by 5 up oo a maximum of 100.

Reward - 50 Bonus damage: Pistol Shot now also slows the target's movement speed by 25% for 3 seconds.

Reward - 100 Bonus damage: When using Between The Eyes; You will also stun the target for 0.25 seconds per combo point spendt.




Solid as an Anchor:

Using Roll The Bones will grant you stacks of Physical Armor. Each Combo point spendt will increase the amount of stacks of Physical Armor gained and how much armor you receive. Each combo point spendt on Roll The Bones grants 12 Physical armor. Store up to a maximum of 6 charges.


Level 4




Rapier reach:

Increase the leap distance of Blade Rush by 50%




Bigger Barrel:

Increase the effective cone of Quickdraw by 45 degrees - Effectively giving the ability a 90 degree effective cone.




Rending strikes:

Each 15 seconds your Dispatch and Between The Eyes becomes empowered; causing them to make the target hit receive 50% reduced healing for 6 seconds.


Level 7




Crimson Vial:

Activate to heal yourself for 5% of your total health each 2 seconds. Lasts until you are at full health or you take any form of damage.

Cooldown: 60 Seconds.




Cheat Death:

When you take lethal damage - You will instantly be healed too 7% of your total maximum health and gain 75 armor for 4 seconds.

Cooldown: 60 seconds.




Vanishing Tactics:

Activate to alter the effect of your next Blade Rush or Quickdraw. This will cause Blade Rush to be usable on a friendly target without causing them any harm and Quickdraw will instead fire of a harmless powershot which pushes you a good distance backward.

Cooldown: 20 Seconds.




Booty in sight:

Activate to remove all slow and root effects. Should any slow or root effects be removed, you will also gain 50% movement speed for 4 seconds. If no slow or root effect is removed, the ability will go on cooldown without any speed boost.

Cooldown: 45 Seconds.

Level 13




Luck be on me side:

Whenever your Roll The Bones grants you rather 1 or 2 buffs, you will also gain a second or third buff. Whenever you gain 1 buff, you will randomly get one of the three other possible buffs from the rolled dice. Whenever you gain two buffs, you will gain the third one from the last remaining dice. This extra buff lasts for half the time.




Focused Shift:

When switching between Melee and Ranged mode: You will now keep all combo points.




Share the perks:

Whenever you gain any of your Roll The Bones buffs; nearby allies will gain the buff(s) as well but for half the effect and half the duration.

Grand Swashbuckler and Shark Infested Waters remain the same but the 4 remaining buffs change function.

Jolly Roger affects the allied Hero's Q ability but has no combo point interaction.

True Bearing causes the allied Hero's most expensive ability to reduce the cooldown on all other abilities by half a second when used.

Buried Treasure increases the regeneration rate of whatever resource the allied hero has by 25% - Heroes with generated resources will simply gain 25% more of their resource from all abilities which generates said source.

Broadsides gives allies 15% movement speed for 3 seconds.


Level 16




X Marks the spot:

Your combo point abilities now also causes the target to take 30% increased damage. This effect lasts for 0.5 seconds per combo point spendt.




Hidden tricks:

When using your combo point abilities on a hero, they will have their spell power and healing output reduced by 30% for 6 seconds.




While they are down:

All of your abilities deals 30% damage to all targets affected by any form of crowd control.




A Real kicker:

Activate to instantly restore 50 Energy. This ability stores 2 charges.

Cooldown: 30 seconds.


Level 20




Desperate for good finds:

Plunder Spree can now leap 10 times, yet each leap gains a shorter leap distance.




I ain't done with you:

When Cannon Barrage ends - A small Ships Cannon will spawn inn behind Tethys which follows him for the next 10 seconds. This Cannon will fire of a single Cannon Barrage shot each 2 seconds which will be shot towards an area just in front of Tethys.




Grappling Hook:

Activate to pull yourself toward the selected location. This effect can pull you past walls and terrain.

Cooldown: 60 Seconds.




Loaded Dice:

Roll The Bones now re-casts itself for free after using it. This does not remove any of the Buffs you gained the when it initially was used. This effect has a 20 second cooldown.

Skin suggestions

Tethys's standard appearance is White with Black and Red.



His other tints would be Black with Green and Blue and Red with Withe and Blue.


As for his other skins, I was thinking one could have him take on a bit more of a propper Fleet Admiral look similar to how Firallon used too look:




Lastly, considering how he has animal companions with him in World of Warcraft - A "Zookeeper" style skin similar to the Explorer Li Li skins could have been nice - Sadly I have no propper image of this other than the Li Li skin as a visual representation of my id
