Story:

(Original Character)
Tharama is a genius High Elf child at the age of 49 years old who once lived in the Silvermoon. He had a peculiar personality that made him hard to socialize with and lived alone for the most of his life. He had his very own sanctuary to study magic and experiment on his own . In his extremely closed sanctuary, he created new Magic and improved existing ones. Overtime, other elves grew curious of his whereabouts and decided to check on him. Astonished by the results of his experiments, other Mages of the kingdom asked him to share his discoveries. However, he refused to share them, even under Royal order which led to him being suspected of immoral magic practice and was banished from the Kingdom. Since his banishment, no word of Tharama's whereabouts has been heard. Not even a sign of his once existence in Silvermoon and overtime, not even a memory remains in the Kingdom.

Hero Design:

Tharama is a hero that possess 9 basic abilities that he can cycle around with his Trait. By activating his trait, he gains access 3 of the 9 abilities and reactivating it grants him access to another 3. He however has limited damaging tools and mostly rely on many of his spells that although does not deal damage, they provide strong utility to himself or apply strong debuffs on his enemies.

Additionally, he possess an ability that allows him to summon his sanctum, a structure that provides him strong buffs to take over the fort, granting him bonuses as long as he is near it.
Upon reaching level 10 and 20, he can gain upgrades to his Sanctum.

Concept Guide:


All stats are level 0 stats. Including heroics, summoned units and talents gained above lvl 0.
All distance measurements are based around the width/height of an Abathur Mine.
* 1 radius circle = 2 abathur mines in diameter.
* 4 range = 4 abathur mines in a line.

Delay = After casting, the hero is able to perform any other action but the ability strikes at a later time.
Animation = After casting, the hero must remain in place and perform an action until the ability takes effect. If the animation is interrupted, the skill fails to go off.

Ranges are measured according to the height/width of Abathur mine. 1 = 1 Abathur mine.
All numbers are Level 0 stats including Heroic Abilities.

Tharama's Grimoire (Trait)
Tharama's Grimoire allows him to conjure Magic from all 3 Elements. Activate to flip the pages of the grimoire, opening the next volume.

Order of Elements: Arcane > Frost > Fire > Arcane.

After a .1 second delay, drop dozens of tiny shredding arcane orbs in a small area, dealing 271(+4%) damage over 2 seconds.

After a 3 second animation, Tharama enchants a target Healing Well, mixing it with Arcane Magic that feeds Tharama 2(+4%) mana per second as long as he is near it.

Instantly teleport to the target location.

After a 1 second animation, permanently gain a 300(+4%) point shield that blocks spell damage. The Shield lasts indefinitely and can stack up to 2 times.

After a 1 second delay, freeze the brains of enemies in an area, slowing their movement speed by 20% and silencing them for 2 seconds.

Cold Snap (E)
Mana: 65
Cooldown: 24 seconds.
Target: Self

Activate to empower the next ability you cast, reducing its cooldown by 30% and become instant cast.

Removes both Delay and Animation but not Channeling. Vial of Eternity and Pillar of Flames both has to be channeled to full duration even when Cold Snap is active for the spells to take effect.

After a .75 second animation, engulf the target in flames, stunning them for 1 second and reducing their Spell Armor by 30 causing them to take 30% more spell damage for 2 seconds.

Explosion Wave Expansion Speed: 1 Second to max radius
Knockback Distance: 4

After a .75 second animation, create an explosion in an area around you that deals 230(+4%) damage and knocks away enemies

Pillar of Flames (E)

Cooldown: 16 seconds after broken
Radius: 1.5
Range: 4
Maximum Range: 14
Movement Speed: 80

Channel to summon a swirling pillar of fire after a 1 second delay at the target location that deals 138(+4%) damage per second and deals double damage to non-heroes. Can reactivate this ability to move the pillar. The pillar moves at 80% movement speed.

Moving, stopping, attacking, casting abilities and switching grimoire chapter breaks the channel.

Channel for 3 seconds to cause an allied or destroyed fort to perform a hearthing animation. After 3 seconds, Tharama's Sanctum teleports in, taking over the target fort. Lasts for 20 seconds.
Link of Brilliance (Passive)
The Sanctum provides a Link of Brilliance that causes Tharama's abilities recharge 75% faster and Tharama regenerates 3% of his mana per second while he is in its Aura Range.

After a 1 second delay, destroy Tharama's Sanctum, exploding a powerful wave of Arcane Energy in a very large area around it, that deals 400(+4%) damage to all enemies caught within. Additionally deals 100% more damage the closer the enemies are to the center.

Tharama's Sanctum summons 8 Mini Water Elementals around it to march down its lane, dealing 88(+4%) damage per second to enemies, prioritizing heroes. If a Water Elemental is killed, 2 Water Elementals are summoned in its place. If a Water Elemental is killed by a structure, no Water Elemental is summoned in its place.

Mana Storage (Active)
(Quest): Gathering a Regeneration Globe causes Tharama's Grimoire to be able to store 10 mana. When Tharama's mana is full, any mana he gains is stored into his Grimoire.
(Reward): Activate to cause Tharama to utilize mana stored within his Grimoire.
Well of Power (Arcane W)
Increase Vial of Eternity's Aura range by 50%.
Dimensional Traveler (Arcane E)
If Tharama has not taken damage in the past 10 seconds, Blink gains 50% more range.

Level 4


Nether Tempest (Arcane Q)
(Quest): Deal damage to heroes for a total of 30 seconds without dying.
(Reward): Increase range and duration by 25%.
Flame Patch (Flames E)
Pillar of Flames burns the ground it passes through for 5 seconds, dealing 30(+4%) damage per second. The Flame Patch radius is 33.333% wider than the Pillar of Flames.
Frigid Winds (Frost W)
Increase slow amount by 15%.

Level 7


Ice Form (Frost Q)
Ice Barrier grants unstoppable for 1 second.
Blast Wave (Flames W)
Increase Knockback distance by 50%.
Controlled Burn (Flames E)
Pillar of Flames is no longer a channeled spell and its mana cost is reduced by 1. Click and Drag to redirect the Pillar's travelling direction or Reactivate without dragging to turn off the Pillar. If the Pillar of Flames travel past its maximum range, it will travel back to Tharama. Failing to get back within its maximum range within 2 seconds causes it to disappear and go on cooldown.

Activate to steal all buffs from a target enemy and transfer all debuffs you currently are suffering to them. 45 second cooldown.
Dense Ice (Frost Q)
Ice Barrier gains 1 additional charge.
Coldhearted (Frost E)
Cold Snap's effects now applies to the next 2 basic abilities he uses.

Level 16


Chilled to the Bone (Frost W)
Increase duration by 1 second.
Blazing Erosion (Flames Q)
Increase Spell Armor reduced by 15 but now also increases the target's Physical Armor proportionately to 45.
Flame On (Flames Q)
Increase armor reduction duration by 1 second.
Phantom of Eternity (Active)
Activate to summon a Healing Well enchanted with the Vial of Enternity at the target location that lasts for 15 seconds. 60 second cooldown.

Level 20


Supernova (R1)
Arcane Annihilation additionally knocks up enemies for 1.5 seconds.
Lonely Winter (R2 - Passive)
Reduce the number of Water Elementals to 1 but its damage is increased by 800% and its health by 300%.
Brilliance Aura (Arcane W)(R)
Mana Regeneration from Enchanted Healing Well and Tharama's Sanctum is now applied to all allied heroes.
Displacement (Arcane E)
Blink can now be reactivated within 3 seconds to return to the location it has been cast from.
