The Guardian (Completed)

Guardian of Frostmourne

The Guardian was once a undead revenant - a being which were somehow immune to the whispers of the Lich King. The Guardian's task was to seemingly "protect" the cursed sword: Frostmourne, yet his task failed when Arthas and his expedition came along to claim it. As The Guardian spoke his last words before dying, he said that he did not mean to protect the blade from Arthas - he ment to protect him from the blade. Even to this day it is not entirely clear what The Guardian's task or main intentions was, one can only speculate about that he knew what future that awaited Arthas should he claim the blade. Now as The Guardian has joined the Nexus, his intentions seems clearer than before: to guard his allies from making poor choices like Arthas did back then.

The Guardian takes up the role of a heavy frontline Warrior, using his rather immense shield and long club to guard his allies while poking the enemy frontline heroes.

Baste stats:


- Base Health: 3001 (+4 %)
- Health regen: 5.08 (+4 %)

Basic attack:


The Guardian strikes enemies with his club, which due to it's length grants him a longer attack than most Warrior heroes.

- Base damage: 87 (+4 %)
- Attack speed: 0.85
- Attack range: 3

Combat Trait

D - Glacial Weaponry
Activate to swap between Shield Stance and Attack Stance.

Shield Stance: Hold your shield in front of you while it emits a frozen barricade, making your shield cover 2.5 range to each side of your character (5 range effectively). This shield will nullify all abilities that comes into contact with it and all basic attacks which attempts to travel past it. While in Shield Stance you move 10% slower and can not be affected by movement speed bonus effects. You can not attack while in Shield Stance.

Attack Stance: Lower your shield, making it only cover 2.5 range to your characters right hand side. You can now attack with your mace which deals frontal cleave damage in a small area. Each 4th basic attack you land while in Attack Stance will slow the targets movement and attack speed by 25% for 2.5 seconds.

Mana: 20
Cooldown: 20 Seconds.

Primary Abilities

Q - Frozen Wave
Spawn a Frozen Wave in the chosen direction which will travle at normal hero speed for 10 range. This Frozen Wave works as a solid piece of environment and will push all hostile units it hits backwards. The Wave will shatter and deal 193 (47 + 4% per level) damage if it crashes into another piece of environment, if any hostile units is caught between the Frozen Wave and the environment it shatters into - all caught units will be stunned for 1.25 seconds. The Frozen Wave can be shattered if it takes too much damage, this will also half down it's shatter damage.

The Wave is 8 range wide.

The Wave has health equal to 50% of The Guardians total maximum health.

Allies of The Guardian can bypass the Wave.

Cooldown: 12 Seconds.

W - Icy Shield
Activate to place a Icy Shield on the selected allied target, this Shield will persist for 4 seconds and can absorb damage equal to 25% of The Guardians total maximum health. While the Shield is active, the target will also pulse for 68 (27 + 4% per level) damage each second and anyone who damages the shield will have their movement and attack speed slowed by 15% for 1.25 seconds.

Cooldown: 10 Seconds.

E - Pillar of Frost
Summon a Pillar of Frost on the chosen location, the Pillar will deal 428 (102 +4% per level) damage to anyone at the point where it emerges. The pillar lasts until it's broken by damage or if too many Pillars is summoned. While active, the Pillar counts as solid environment and it will pulse for 103 (58 + 4% per level) damage each 0.5 seconds in a 4 range radius from it's outer circle + slowing movement speed of hostile units within the area by 35%

The Pillar covers 2 range in a circular pattern.

A maximum of 4 Pillars can only be active at one time.

A Pillar has health equal to 35% of The Guardians total maximum health.

Allies of The Guardian can bypass the Pillars.

Cooldown: 6 Seconds.

Heroic Abilities

R - Northrend Storm
Call upon a Northrend Storm which will blow icy winds down a selected wide area for 6 seconds. For the 6 seconds the Storm lasts, it will deal 96 (32 + 4% per level) damage each 0.5 seconds to any hostile unit within the storm. Units caught in the storm will also have their movement speed reduced by 50% and they will also be pushed away as the winds blows with power enough to force units down the Storms path.

Cooldown: 100 Seconds.

R - Guardian of the Blade
Once active, The Guardian will enter a 12 second immune stasis where he will become the center-point of a large area which will be walled inn by 12 ice sheets that forms a Dodecagon pattern. These ice sheets can not be bypassed by hostile units even by the means of teleportation or portals. Allies inside the ice sheets will for the 12 seconds have instant-cast Hearthstone. Allies can pass trough the ice sheets by simply walking trough them but this will remove the ice sheet, effectively leaving a opening in the pattern.

If any hostile minion or mercenary get's caught inside the ice sheets - they will instantly be killed.

Hostile mercenary bosses, map objective bosses and map objective player-controlled vehicles can pass trough the sheets and will leave a gap, yet for each sheet of ice removed, the target will take damage equal to 15% of it's maximum health.

If hostile heroes are caught within the ice sheets, they can not escape via the means of teleportation or portals, they can not use their hearthstones and allies of The Revenant will gain vision of them.

This 12 second stasis must last it's full duration and can not be canceled.

Cooldown: 120 Seconds.

Talents

Level 1


- Loyal Protector: Icy Shield's cooldown is reduced by 3 seconds and it now stores 2 charges.

- Frozen Storage: You can now have 6 Pillars of Frost active at once.

- Tide of Death: Quest: For each 0.5 second hostile heroes remain in contact with a Frozen Wave, the movement speed of the Wave will increase by 0.1.
Reward: After increasing Frozen Waves speed by 5, it will also slow the movement speed of anything hostile that comes within 1.5 range of the wave by 25% for 1.25 seconds.
Reward: After increasing Frozen Waves speed by 10 it will deal 50% more damage when it shatters.

- Touch of Humanity: Quest: Gathering Regeneration Globes will increase your maximum health by 20, up to 500.
Reward: Upon gathering 25 Regeneration Globes, you can move at regular speed while Shield Stance is active but you can still not be affected by movement speed bonuses.

Level 4


- Reflective Ice: After activating Shield Stance, you can re-activate the trait within 15 seconds to make it reflect the 2 next skill-shot that hits it.

- Aggressive Defender: After activating Attack Stance, you cam re-activate the trait within 15 seconds to increase your attack speed by 200% for 4 seconds.

- Eternal Guardian: Quest: Nullifying Damage while in Shield Stance and attacking enemy heroes while in Attack Stance will empower your Glacial Weaponry.
Reward: After nullifying 10000 Damage in Shield Stance and attacking heroes 30 times while in Attack Stance, lower the cooldown on Glacial Weaponry by 10 seconds.

Level 7


- Fury of Icecrown: Quest: Dealing damage to enemy heroes by summoning a Pillar of Frost underneath them will empower the Pillars.
Reward: After damaging 10 Heroes, the Pillars will deal 35% more damage and gain 35% more health.
Reward: After damaging 20 Heroes, you will gain an extra action button to detonate the Pillar closest to you for damage equal to a un-talented Frozen Wave shattering.
Reward: After damaging 30 Heroes, you will link each Pillar together with a tiny gust of icy wind, this gives you vision in a 1 range wide area between all active Pillars. Hostile heroes will be slowed by 5% while between any linked Pillar and can while slowed: See the wind and it's pattern, allowing them to follow the winds to the Pillars.

- Winter is coming: If a Pillar of Frost gets destroyed within 5 seconds of getting summoned, you can instantly summon forth a new one for free. This free Pillar can not benefit from this effect and will place the ability on it's regular 6 seconds cooldown.

- Army of the Damned: Hostile minions which dies near you will re-spawn at full health as your minions, yet their health will decay by 5% for each 1 second they remain alive. For each 7th minion you convert, this effect will be placed on a 30 second cooldown. This effect also works for Mercenaries but 1 Mercenary counts as 5 minions.

- Path of Frost: You leave a trail of ice behind you as you walk which persists for 2 second for each 1 range you take, this path will slow the movement speed of any hostile units that comes into contact with it by 25% for the time they remain on the icy path.

Level 10 (Ultimates - R)


- Northrend Storm.

- Guardian of the Blade.


Level 13


- Archangel of Death: Reduce your maximum health by 25% but you will also lower your re-spawn time by 25%

- Price of Immortality: Increase your maximum health by 25% but you will also get a 25% increased re-spawn timer.

- Frozen Nova: When a Icy Shield expires or is broken by damage, all nearby hostile units will be rooted for 0.5 seconds.

Level 16


- Icicles: Frozen Waves shatter radius is increased by 2.

- Forced Shattering: You can no re-activate Frozen Wave to shatter it at will.

- Obey me Ice: You can no re-activate Frozen Wave to reset it's travel distance, this will also send the Wave backwards.

- Iceskin: Activate to gain 40% of your maximum Health as a Shield for 4 seconds.

Level 20


- Snows of Northrend: Northrend Storm lasts 4 seconds longer and covers a wider and longer area.

- Decked out: Guardian of the Blade's Ice Sheets no longer is removed when allied units bypasses them and you can move at 50% reduced movement speed while it's active.

- Lord of the Glacier: Shield Stance now covers 8 range and each 4'th attack in Attack Stance will now cause the same effect but in a 6 range radius around you rather than just in the frontal cleave.

- I warned you: Sacrifice yourself to embed your chosen allied hero with your armor. This will grant them 75 Physical and Spell armor for the duration you are dead + add your own total maximum health pool ontop of theirs. However, when you re-spawn, the allied hero will take 25% increased damage for 15 seconds and will have their health reduced by 25% for 15 seconds. Cooldown: 120 Seconds. Cooldown starts when you re-spawn.

Skin suggestions

Basic Skin:

This is the "toned" down version of what The Guardian would look like - Clikc Me - His model would of course remain similar but be updated for HotS. This Tint is "Grey and Black" while his other Tints would be "White and Blue" and "Green and Purple"

Master Skin:

This here just a bit more cladd in Skuls and with a more spiked mace, bigger shield and bigger Wings on the helm.
