Thok

The Bloodthirsty

When the Isle of Giants was discovered off the coast of Pandaria, teeming with primal devilsaurs, Garrosh sent men to capture some of the most fearsome specimens, hoping to subjugate them and use them as beasts of war. Countless orcish beastmasters have fallen to Thok's jaws as they struggle to trap and cage him, yet the creature's thirst for blood remains unslaked.

Thok is an "all in" melee assassin that alternates between two modes: Leashed and Unleashed. While Leashed, Thok is chained to a Kor'Kron Jailer and follows him passively. During this phase the player controls the Kor'Kron Jailer, who merely has weak basic attacks.

There are two ways for Thok to become Unleashed. The Kor'Kron Jailer's health acts as a shield equal to 25% of Thok's health. While the Kor'Kron Jailer is alive, all damage dealt to Thok is redirected to the Jailer. If the Jailer is killed Thok becomes Unleashed, gaining new abilities. The other way for Thok to become Unleashed is to simply eat the Kor'Kron Jailer.

Above we see Thok while he is Leashed to his Kor'Kron Jailer, providing a shield. Note that Thok is the only one that has a hitbox.

When Thok becomes Unleashed he loses the shield provided by his Kor'Kron Jailer and grows in size. He is now ready to hunt his prey.

The Thok player would not want to simply Unleash Thok immediately as the Kor'Kron Jailer has one ability: Provoke. This increases the damage Thok will deal the next time he is Unleashed, so it is wise to stack this buff to its maximum capacity if possible. The Kor'Kron Jailer will respawn 20 seconds after being killed. The Thok player would have to find a balance between the more passive Leashed play and the "all in" attack play of Unleashed.

Combat Trait

1
Leashed/Unleashed
Thok travels with a Kor'Kron Jailer. The Kor'Kron Jailer acts as a shield equal to 25% of Thok's health. All damage dealt to Thok is redirected to the Jailer until it is killed.

Once the Jailer is killed Thok becomes Unleashed, gaining new abilities. After 20 seconds the Kor'Kron Jailer respawns and Thok becomes Leashed once more.

Primary Abilities

1
Provoke
(Leashed) The Kor'Kron Jailer prods Thok, applying an additional shield equal to 5% of Thok's health and increasing the damage Thok will deal the next time he is Unleashed by 5%. 6 second cooldown.

Maximum 5 stacks.
2
Bloodthirst
(Leashed) Thok consumes his Kor'Kron Jailer and becomes Unleashed.

Secondary Abilities

1
Chomp
(Unleashed) Lunge a short distance towards a target, damaging them and healing yourself for 50% of the damage dealt. 8 second cooldown.

Chomp does not reset Fixate.
2
Fixate
(Unleashed) Mark the target enemy with Fixate. While marked, each basic attack Thok deals to that target increases his attack and movement speed by 10%, to a maximum of 50%. Mark lasts 12 seconds. 6 second cooldown.

Only one target can be marked with Fixate at a time. The bonuses provided by Fixate are lost if Thok attacks a different target or does not attack his Fixate target for 3 seconds.
3
Rampage
(Unleashed) [Passive] Reduce the duration of silences, stuns, slows, and roots against you by 100% while Unleashed.

This reduction decays at the rate of 5% per second.

Rampage recharges while Leashed at the rate of 5% per second.

Heroic Abilities

1
Devilsaur
[Passive] Increase your maximum health by 50% when you become Unleashed. This extra health decays over 10 seconds.

While this bonus health remains the cooldown of Chomp is reduced to 3 seconds.
2
Maim
Lash out in a short arc in front of you, dealing damage to all enemies hit and applying a 90% slow that decays over 4 seconds. 40 second cooldown.

If an enemy hero is killed while under the effect of Maim its cooldown is reduced by 10 seconds.

Special Mount

Thok cannot use mounts.

An Azeroth Tyrannosaur in the Nexus? Please take my upvote!

P.S. Devour is already used by Stitches, maybe change it to Chomp? And I also think you should think up another name for Devilsaur maybe Primal Rage? (a nod to a classic Dino Fighting game).

Ah, I totally checked Stitches' skills while I was making this because something was telling me his ult was named Devour. When I saw it was Gorge I thought I was in the clear. Good suggestions though, I'm going to implement Chomp but leave Devilsaur as is. Primal Rage is Winston's ult.

By the way. Wouldn't it be more epic if he breaks free of his collar and chains when he becomes unleashed?

And yeah winston already has it. I'll go look around for a good alternative for it.

Gotta say, of all the concepts I've seen, this is one of my favorite. Love the fact that you could probably play this character from the start, but that they're not the easiest to master.
