Here lies old descriptions and ideas just for reference.
Consecration
Tirion Basic Attacks and Abilities release a wave of ashes to the ground. Enemies standing on the consecrated ground takes damage, whilst Tirion gains 20% bonus Movement Speed while standing on it. Consecration lasts for 4 seconds and stacks up to 3 times at the same location. The number of stacks does not change Tirion's bonus movement speed.
Enemies within the ground generates 2 Holy Power per second.
Basic attacks generates 10 Holy Power.
Behavior:
Basic Attacks and Abilities release a consecrated ground of the size of Chromie's Dragon's Breath. Damage is dealt every 0.5 seconds.
Each new Basic Attacks to any enemy affected by the consecrated ground causes the following effects:
- If the enemy is inside the center of the original consecrated ground, it expands 33%, up to 100% increase after 3 Basic attacks. In addition, the original size of the consecrated ground is promoted to a 2 stacks consecration.
- The next attack promotes the center to 3 stacks, the 33% expansion to 2 stacks and it further expands the area to its 66% increase. This trend continues up to 100% increase with 3 stacks.
- If the enemy is outside the center of the original consecrated ground, a new circle is summoned. Every zone where the consecrated grounds are overlapped, its effect stacks. This happens up to 3 stacks.
It may be a little confusing to explain it in plain text, but in try mode the effect is quite intuitive: you attack, the size stacks and expands.
Visual Effect and Animation:
Visually, the ground should look like a sacred fire is coming from it. As it stacks, fissure starts to shatter the earth, up to look like the original consecration effect you see in the World of Warcraft spell.
It should have borders so that it is easy to spot where its effect end.
Holy Power
Tirion does not have mana as a resource. Instead, a special resource called Holy Power is used by Tirion. Holy Power is stored by dealing damage to enemies with Abilities, Basic Attacks and Consecrated grounds. Its value goes up to 100, being consumed by some of Tirion's Abilities for additional effects.
In addition Tirion's Basic Abilities recharge 0.5% faster for every point of Holy Power he has.
Behavior:
As you may infer, no Basic Ability is able to generate 100 Holy Power by hitting a single enemy. In order to get as much Holy Power as possible, Tirion must hit as much enemies as possible, while keeping them at his sacred grounds.
Visual Effect and Animation:
Visually, as Tirion stores more Holy Power, his armor starts to glow slightly. Upon casting spells, a small circle of light surges from the ground (see
this video for reference). The idea is to make easy to infer how strong will be its additional effect.
Silver Hand
Cooldown: 15 seconds.
Imbues an ally unit, Hero or Tirion with light, consecrating the land beneath it. If this is used on another unit besides Tirion, it will also remove slows and roots from that unit, while also granting the unit with 20% Bonus Movement Speed for 4 seconds.
Consumes up to 50 Holy Power to heal both the target and Tirion.
Holy Power Consumption
If you have 30 Holy Power, it heals with 60% of its effectiveness. If you have 40 Holy Power, it heals with 80% of its effectiveness. And so on.
Behavior:
The size of the consecrated region is equal to Chromie's Dragon's Breath size. The expansion mechanism with Basic Attacks is equal as the zone was created by Basic Attacks.
This ability can not be cast on bosses.
Visual Effect and Animation:
Use Ragnaro's Blast Wave as reference.
Crusader Strike
Cooldown: 8 seconds.
Charges forward to swipe in the targeted location, dealing damage to enemies hit and pulling them slightly. Also, releases consecration beneath each enemy hit by the ability.
Consumes up to 50 Holy Power to increase Tirion's Armor up to 25 for 3 seconds.
Holy Power Generation/Consumption
Each enemy Hero hit generates 10 Holy Power, every other enemy generate 4 Holy Power.
It functions like this: if you have 40 Holy Power and hits only one enemy Hero, you reach 50 Holy Power, which is consumed immediately, returning your gauge to 0 and granting 25 Armor. If you had 0 Holy Power, it will consume 10 Holy Power generated by the hit, granting 5 Armor.
Behavior:
The distance traveled is small, similar to Valeera's Sinister Strike with her mutilate talent.
You can use it to dash at any direction, immediately striking if it hits any enemy Hero, unit or structure.
This attack has the shape of a small arc. Enemies at the tip are moved to the mid of the arc (use Kerrigan's Primal Grasp as reference). Enemies close to Tirion are pulled to his side, enabling him to body block a slowed target.
Crusader Strike does not slow.
Visual Effect and Animation:
The dash should look similar to Varian's charge, finishing with a large swipe of Tirion's Ashbringer.
Wake of Ashes
Cooldown: 12 seconds.
After a brief moment, consecrate the land at the targeted location, damaging and slowing enemies caught in the initial strike by 40% for 1 second afterwards.
Consumes up to 50 Holy Power to increase its initial damage and slow duration up to 100%.
Holy Power Generation/Consumption
Each enemy Hero hit generates 10 Holy Power, every other enemy generate 4 Holy Power.
It functions like this: if you have 40 Holy Power and hits only one enemy Hero, you reach 50 Holy Power, which is consumed immediately, returning your gauge to 0 and increasing the slow and damage by 100%. If you had 0 Holy Power, it will consume 10 Holy Power generated by the hit, increasing the slow and damage by 20%.
Behavior:
This ability has a small delay before it lands (similar to Cassia's Blinding Light). Using Wake of Ashes before Crusader Strike causes both to hit simultaneously.
Its size is equal to Chromie's Dragon's Breath expanded by 66%. The expansion mechanism with Basic Attacks is equal as the zone was created by Basic Attacks.
Crusader Strike can be used to force enemies to stay in the consecrated area.
Visual Effect and Animation:
Use Cassia's Blinding Light as reference: a bolt of light comes from the sky, shattering the land beneath.
Execution Sentence
Cooldown: 40 seconds.
A hammer slowly falls from the sky. Upon impact, the hammer deals damage to its target and to enemies in the area, consecrating the area beneath it to 3 stacks immediately. All enemies hit by Execution Sentence are Slowed by 70% decaying over 1.5 seconds.
Consumes up to 100 Holy Power to increase Execution Sentence travel speed and slow duration, up to 100%.
Behavior:
This spell should be an initiator. Using it forces enemies to spread as fast as possible. At maximum Holy Power, it hits faster, making it harder to enemies react. In addition, the slow takes longer to decay, which makes hitting Abilities easier by your allies.
Its size is equal to Chromie's Dragon's Breath expanded by 100%.
Visual Effect and Animation:
Use Kel'Thuzad's Frost Blast as reference for the area indication. See the paladin spell Execution Sentence as a reference to the hammer and its movement.
Crusade
Cooldown: 80 seconds.
Activate to gain 100 Holy Power. In addition, your Basic Abilities get the following effects:
- Crusader Strike may be cast again within the next 3 seconds.
- Wake of Ashes will not consume Holy Power when cast.
- Silver Hand will also Protect the target ally Hero for 1.5 seconds.
Crusade lasts for 10 seconds. Any Holy Power generated during this time increase its duration by 1 second for every 25 Holy Power gained.
Behavior:
This ability behave as combination of Sonya's Wrath of the Berserker with Alexstrasza's Dragonqueen.
In fact, it should be used as a combination of both. During a team fight, you probably won't be the initiator, but will engage following your tank. During that time, you will try to hit as hard as possible while saving your allies.
You may also use it as a counter initiation, saving a dying ally while hitting hard.
Visual Effect and Animation:
This ability visual effect may be similar to World of Warcraft Avenging Wrath. Although Yrel got the name of Avenging Wrath, she did not take all the visual aspect. Nonetheless, visuals similar to Diablo 3 Iron Skin may also be used.
As for the Crusade Second Strike, I suggest it to swipe to the other direction, making easier to identify that the Crusader Strike was used with its second charge.
Hammer of Wrath
Cooldown: 15 seconds.
Hurls a hammer that strikes an enemy, dealing damage and consecrating the ground.
This ability does not consume Holy Power.
Replaces Trait Icon. Granted with Level 20 talent.
Behavior:
Target Point-And-Click spell, with its range similar to Thrall's Chain Lightning.
Consecrated ground work as Tirion gave a Basic Attack to the target.
Visual Effect and Animation:
Use World of Warcraft Hammer of Wrath as reference.
I'll be making some adjustments to my wording in order to make myself clearer. The main idea is that the Crusader Strike, Judgment and Dawn of the Crusader unlock a secondary ability while they are on cooldown. This means that while they are on cd, you can make use of such secondary abilities by spending Holy Power. I admit that Templar's Verdict still is very similar to Crusader Strike. I'll keep it like that until I find a way to make it look cooler.
Now, about the 1,5 seconds windows to reactivate Execution Sentence: I did not made this number out of thin air. This window is the same time window you have to reactivate Zeratul's Singularity Spike while having the Seeker in the Dark talent. But, of course, it could still be to short to reactivate it.
