Tier 1
Energy-Efficient Explosives -
Time Bomb also returns
15 Mana to Toki for each enemy hero hit.
Temporal Truesight -
Time Bombs also Reveal the area around them to Toki's team.
Clockwork Companion - Adds
Clockwork Companion to the secondary ability bar.
Tier 2
Maniacal Micromanagement -
Tick Tock is now targeted, and can pause and unpause
Time Bombs individually.
Rapid Refund -
Rewind also reduces the active cooldown of all abilities its target cast in the last
2.5 seconds by
1 second.
Offensive Overdrive -
Borrowed Time also increases its target's basic attack speed and ability damage by
30%.
Tier 3
Dialed Duality - When
Rewind is cast on a hero other than Toki, Toki receives healing equal to
60% of the health it restored.
Anachronistic Afflictions -
Borrowed Time also makes its target Unstoppable. All crowd control effects active when
Borrowed Time was cast and applied during its duration will be resumed when it ends.
Phantom Fragmentation - Adds
Phantom Fragmentation to the secondary ability bar.
Tier 4
Alternate Timeline - See above.
Time Stop - See above.
Tier 5
Detonation Distortion -
Time Bomb also Slows affected enemies by
15% for
3 seconds. Multiple applications refresh and stack this, up to
45% total.
Absolute Abandonment -
Rewind now cleanses
100% of
Borrowed Time's damage over time effect.
Emergency Enervation - When Toki receives damage equal to
15% of her maximum health within
4 seconds, a talented
Borrowed Time is cast on her for free. Does not trigger
Tick Tock, and this effect has a
30 second cooldown.
Tier 6
Redoubled Recovery -
Rewind's healing is increased to
65% of the damage its target took, and its maximum is increased to
1000 (+4% per level).
Delayed Demise -
Borrowed Time also makes its target Unkillable.
120% of overkill damage is converted into damage over time, instead of the normal
60%.
Overclock - Adds
Overclock to the secondary ability bar.
Amplified Assistant - Upgrades
Clockwork Companion.
Must have taken Clockwork Companion to take this talent.
Tier 7
Paradox - After
Alternate Timeline ends, a phantom of Infinite Toki will follow the same path and cast the same basic abilities that occurred during
Alternate Timeline. Targeted abilities are cast with infinite range, and
Time Bombs do not count toward the limit but otherwise act normally.
Luna Dial - Casting
Time Stop resets Toki's basic ability cooldowns. Additionally, when it ends all
Time Bombs will immediately explode.
Flux Capacitor -
Tick Tock also reduces the active cooldown of Toki's heroic ability by
2 seconds whenever Toki casts a basic ability.
Double Time - Every time Toki casts a basic ability, an untalented copy is cast for free on a random target within range
(does not trigger Tick Tock).
1. Is Time Stop's effect global, or an AoE? If it's AoE, isn't it kinda the same thing as Zeratul's Void Prison?
2. I think T.S.'s name should be changed, because it can be a little bit confusing with the actual effect of "time stop" in HotS.
1 About Time Stop, I thought of two possible alternate names for it: "Clockwork Blast", and "Stroke of Midnight". Tell me know what you think.
2 Can Tick-Tock be activated while there are no active time bombs?
2.1 If it can be activated while no time bombs are around, then it gives her a decent out-of-combat healing option, because of the Clockwork Companion talent.
3 Speaking of the latter, what exactly is Clockwork Companion's effective area? All it says is "within a medium area".
4 If this version of Toki does indeed enter Heroes of the Storm, what do you think is her niche? Where is she supposed to be good at, and where is she supposed to be less effective at? In what team comps is she at her the most effective? Who is she good against, who is good against her, and who is she good with?
1) "Clockwork Blast" sounds much more aggressive and less like a status effect, so I probably won't go with that one. I like the flavor behind "Stroke of Midnight" though, I'll likely change it to that or something similar.
2) Tick-Tock can be activated while there are no active Time Bombs; however...
2.1) Clockwork Companion's trigger is supposed to be on Tick-Tock's passive effect, not the active toggle. That means it would occur when Toki casts a basic ability, but not when she toggles Tick-Tock itself. I'll make sure that's clarified more, sorry for the confusion.
3) I'm thinking of something similar to Brightwing's Soothing Mist area of effect for Clockwork Companion. I really should specify better especially because I have different things in mind for "medium" or "large" depending on the ability's effects.
4) In this form, Toki is intended to be an anti-burst healer who also has good potential in area of effect damage and zoning. Kind of like Auriel, she wouldn't be a healbot when there's no fighting going on, so she wouldn't fill a core support role like Deckard or Malfurion. She'd be a strong in-combat healer who can manipulate the flow of the fight by zoning with Time Bombs and mitigating burst damage, but she'd suffer in drawn out fights or poke wars where her healing falls apart.
As for hero matchups, Toki would be good against any hero whose damage is more burst-based, like Kael'thas, Jaina, so on. Also good against heroes who rely on DoT effects like Lunara and Gul'dan due to how Rewind shrinks their effects. Also decent at beating diving heroes, since Borrowed Time can, for example, prevent Genji from getting a kill he thought would be easy. Heroes good against her would be any sustained damage dealers, like The Butcher, Raynor, so on. Also heroes who are good at poke damage, like Hanzo or Junkrat. As for heroes she's good with, her anti-burst nature would combo well with heroes especially vulnerable to it, so most mages and assassins. Borrowed Time could make an Illidan a lot harder to deal with, or save a Chromie that just got dived by someone.
That's all that really comes to mind right now. Again, thanks a lot for the comments!
Yeah, I don't think having consistent out-of-combat healing really fits the theme and I haven't been able to come up with any way to make it work so far, so this is probably going to be close to the final version of the base kit. Hopefully the talents will live up to expectations when I add them in :P
I don't agree that Rewind is an objectively weaker Medivh shield since it can be used in reaction to burst instead of needing to predict burst, has a longer window for its effect (3.5 seconds vs 1.5 seconds), and with the trait has a lower effective cooldown. Still, I do see what you mean with it not being enough for a full support, and the ability could be really weak in practice. I'm not too sure what to change about it to make it better while keeping the theme without just buffing the numbers, so I'll keep thinking about that.
Also, I'll look at changing or replacing Temporal Surge to have more support potential, I might've overestimated its value as a support ability and another heal effect might be better. I'm thinking of maybe adding an effect on it that delays some of the damage the target hero takes to have some synergy with Rewind, or working some kind of heal into the ability somehow.
My goal for the kit overall is to have a support similar to Auriel, who can't throw out nonstop heals to top allies off but has a high potential of healing during fights. Also with some zoning and damage in there similar to Probius through the Time Bomb ability.
And just a final note, I didn't think your comment was harsh at all :P I really like constructive feedback on concepts, so I appreciate all of the criticisms. It's better to have something to work toward or add than to just throw a concept together and leave it as is.
