Humble Beginnings

Gabriel Tosh was a gifted boy who came from nothing, growing up in a colony world where his psychic powers, often times described as Voodoo by his grandmother, were cause for great concern among fellow citizens. Shunned from a young age to live on the outskirts of his hometown, Tosh was more than eager to enlist in the Terran Confederacy to find a sense of purpose and belonging. The Confederacy, having a psionic enrichment program of its own, was more than happy to take Tosh into the fold. For years, Tosh fought alongside the soldiers of the Confederate army, and with the collapse of the Confederacy by rebels like Jim Raynor and Arcturus Mengsk, Tosh found himself in the service of a new army in the Terran Dominion, though in his eyes, continuing to serve the same cause as when he first enlisted: humanity's protection, above all else.



Seeds of Rebellion

Tosh served well in the Dominion army, capitalizing on their continued Ghost and experimental Spectre training programs to further enhance his psionic abilities. While going through the arduous years of being a recruit at the academy, Tosh gained and lost friends, both to heartbreak and combat, and the years of war took their inevitable hold. Purpose was a fleeting concept, and allegiance did not guarantee safety anymore. Tosh was eventually the victim of a dramatic physiological change during an incident involving the infamous Nova Terra, a high-profile Ghost operative who has a storied past with the prolific Spectre.

In a blast of psionic energy created by Nova, Tosh lost some of his memory and his eyes turned milky white, but as he would find out, his mind became more powerful. Now fortified against thought intrusions, and the Dominion's attempts to wipe his memory and protect their secrets, Tosh could not be controlled, and saw the Dominion for what they were: more of the same. He soon came to understand his place in the greater war machine, a cog that would endlessly turn to create violence in the name of the oligarchs who ran Terran society.

He would be a part of it no more.




Rebel with a Cause

Tosh began liberating and enlisting others like him, either trained Spectres from the Dominion's failed and scrapped programs, or those with similar gifts who fought alongside him as recruits in his younger years. All were branded as traitors. Some fell, others fought on, while Tosh sought a way to both get back at Mengsk for his part in the ceaseless war machine, and fortify a safe and certain future for his brethren. Along the way, Tosh encountered the rebel Jim Raynor and was happy to join his cause, knowing that their combined forces could cripple to Mengsk's hold on the sector. Through many trials, Tosh was able to free his people from a prison planet, secure vital resources for their continued training and proliferation, and know a moment's peace from being hunted down by corrupt tyrants. Though his ways remained contentious and mysterious to most, Tosh only did what had to be done to secure a future for his people.




The Nexus Calls

Now in the Nexus, Tosh brings his defiant attitude and wisdom of countless missions and battles to new heights, stalking enemies from the shadows of his Spectral Stealth and feeding off of their essence to restore his own Psionic Energy. In the blink of an eye, Tosh assaults his foes, leaving them confused and disoriented, then slips out before anyone can gather their defenses. His psionic powers are sure to be a force to be reckoned with on the battlefield, and his extensive training and lethal combat ability will secure the enemy's destruction.

Spectral Stealth
Tosh is a lethal and mysterious Spectre, combining powerful psionic energy with advanced technology.

Tosh uses psionic Energy to empower Abilities, which regenerates at a rate of 4 Energy every second.
Total 100 Energy. Tosh also utilizes Spectral Stealth to become elusive and disappear:

Spectral Stealth

Passive: All ranged Physical attacks and projectiles deal 30% less damage to Tosh.

Activate to enter a specialized form of Stealth for 6 seconds. During the first 2 seconds, Tosh cannot be revealed. Basic Abilities gain enhancements while in Spectral Stealth, and causing or taking damage after 2 seconds breaks Stealth.

Cost: 15 Energy, plus 5 Energy per second
Cooldown: 15 seconds

Primary Abilities

Psychic Blast
Unleash a powerful shock-wave of psionic energy upon foes, crushing them with mental agony.

Create a storm of energy up to 4 distance away over a small area (radius: 1) that builds for 0.75 seconds before rapidly crushing and damaging all enemies inside it for 190 (+4%) damage and stunning them for 0.75 seconds.

Spectral Stealth: Radius and damage increased by 20% but no longer stuns.

Cost: 35 Energy
Cooldown: 10 seconds

Psionic Matrix
Psionic energy ripples around Tosh to create a resilient anti-shock shield.

Tosh envelops himself in a conjured shield worth 20% of his health that lasts for 4 seconds, and while active, whenever Tosh takes damage worth 10% of his health or more, that damage is immediately reduced by 75%. During Psionic Matrix, Tosh cannot be shielded from any other source.

Spectral Stealth: The shield is worth 15% of Tosh's health but costs 5 Energy less.

Cost: 40 Energy
Cooldown: 16 seconds

Consumption
Spectres must utilize all resources available to them, even the life essence of friends and foes alike.

Tosh consumes the vital essence of both allies and enemies in a short range to regenerate Energy. Activate on an enemy or friendly Minion within (2) range to deal half its health in damage, and restore 15 Energy immediately. When activated on an enemy Hero, Tosh deals 120 (+4%) damage to them and restores 30 Energy.

Spectral Stealth: If used within the first 2 seconds of entering Spectral Stealth, continued Stealth cost is reduced by 2 Energy per second.

Heroic Abilities

EMP Scrambler
A master of infiltration and disorientation, Tosh utilizes the best in disruptive technology.

Tosh lobs a spherical Scrambler device out to a max range of 4 that lasts 5 seconds. When the device lands, it immediately activates to send out an EMP wave every second in a medium area (radius: 2.5) around it. Each wave deals 86 (+4%) damage to enemies hit, revealing enemy Stealth units in the process. All enemy Heroes hit by the waves are Silenced for 0.25 seconds per wave.

Spectral Stealth: Range of the throw is increased by 2, and the radius of the EMP waves is increased by 15%.

Psychic Domination
Tosh has mysterious ways about him, and hints of voodoo enhance his psionic powers of manipulation.

Tosh throws a unique voodoo-laced dagger outward to a total range of 2.5, striking the first enemy Hero hit. If it contacts an enemy Hero, Tosh seizes control of their movements after 0.5 seconds, and they will mimic his every movement for the next 3 seconds, maintaining even distance from wherever they were first struck. Enemies hit are still able to attack and perform non-movement abilities.

Spectral Stealth: Tosh now throws a phantom dagger out first. The phantom dagger does not incur a cooldown if it misses, and its Energy cost is reduced by half. If the phantom dagger connects with an enemy, Psychic Domination goes on cooldown as normal.

Tosh now fires slower burst shots that deal more damage.
  • Tosh loses 50% attack speed but gains burst fire as his Basic Attack now,
    firing 3 instant Basic Attacks in a burst worth 55% damage each.

Enter the Matrix [W]
Psionic Matrix has a reduced cost.
  • Reduce the cost of Psionic Matrix by 10 Energy.

Safe for Consumption [E]
Consumption now deals no damage to friendly Minions; enemy Minions generate more Energy.
  • Friendly Minions now take no damage from Consumption but still provide Energy.
    Enemy Minions provide an additional 10 Energy over 2 seconds.

Psychic Reach [Q]
Increase the range of Psychic Blast and its Energy cost.
  • Psychic Blast has its range increased by 1
    and its cost increased by 5 Energy.

Kinetic Construct [W]
Absorbing damage over time with Psionic Matrix increases its duration.
  • Quest: Psionic Matrix gains an additional 5% more shielding in both forms.
    Absorb 5,000 damage with Psionic Matrix.

    Reward: Psionic Matrix now lasts 2 seconds longer and restores
    5 Energy for every 100 damage absorbed upon expiration.

Psionic Fortitude [Passive]
Gather globes to empower Energy regeneration.
  • Quest/Reward: Gather Regen Globes to increase health regeneration by 0.2 per second,
    up to 8 per second. Once Tosh has gathered 40 Globes, his Energy regeneration is also
    increased by an additional 2 Energy per second.

Radical Liberator [Active]
Tosh persuades Mercenaries into being members of his defiant cause.
  • Tosh generates 1 Defiance from every 150 damage absorbed by Psionic Matrix,
    total 20 Defiance. Use 5 Defiance to instantly defeat a non-Boss mercenary.

    If a camp is fully captured with Defiance, it resets 50% faster.

Terrazine Infusion [Trait]
Spend time in Spectral Stealth to improve its duration.
  • Quest: Spectral Stealth makes you Unrevealable for
    1 additional second. Spend 120 seconds in Stealth.

  • Reward: Spectral Stealth now lasts 1 second longer and
    Basic Ability costs while in Stealth are reduced by 5 Energy.

Crushing Minds [Q]
Psychic Blast stuns for longer but with increased cooldown.
  • Increase the Stun time of Psychic Blast by 0.25 seconds
    and the cooldown by 2 seconds.

Take from the Powerful [E]
Using Consumption on enemy Heroes restores Energy over time.
  • When Tosh uses Consumption on an enemy Hero,
    he restores an additional 30 Energy over 3 seconds.

Mass Confusion [Q]
Psychic Blast deals more damage the more enemies are hit.
  • When Psychic Blast lands on enemies, its damage is increased
    by 12% for each enemy Hero hit by the blast.

Play It Safe [W]
Psionic Matrix protects from more common burst attacks.
  • Psionic Matrix reduces the threshold for damage protection
    down to 6% of your life or more as damage.

Advanced Capacitors [Trait]
Spectral Stealth has reduced costs.
  • The cost to enter Spectral Stealth is reduced by 5 Energy and
    the cost to maintain it is reduced by 1 Energy per second.

Strike from the Shadows [Passive]
Attacking from Stealth over time increases damage done from Stealth.
  • Quest/Reward: Tosh can fire a Basic Attack 3 times (Burst Fire counts as 1 Attack)
    before breaking Spectral Stealth at any point of its duration, and Basic Attacks from
    Stealth deal 10% more damage. Deal 7,500 damage from Stealth to also permanently
    increase all Ability Damage done from Stealth by 10%.

Stupified [Q]
Enemies hit by Psychic Blast are slowed for a short duration.
  • Enemies hit by Psychic Blast are now slowed by 40% for 1.25 seconds.

Psionic Discharge [W]
When Psionic Matrix is broken from damage, it bursts and Silences enemies.
  • Whenever Psionic Matrix is destroyed through damage, it bursts in a medium
    area (radius: 2)for 144 (+4%) damage and Silences all enemies hit for 0.75 seconds.

Siphoning Rounds [Passive]
When out of Stealth, Tosh generates Energy with Basic Attacks.
  • Each individual Basic Attack dealt to an enemy target now restores 3 Energy to Tosh.
    Does not work while in Spectral Stealth.

Psi Disruptor [R1]
EMP Scrambler turns into a Psi Disruptor that also slows enemies.
  • Tosh now throws a Psi Disruptor, a modified EMP Scrambler that
    deals 20% more damage per wave, slows enemies hit by 45% for
    1 second, and launches 1 additional wave.

Telekinetic Throw [R2]
Increases the range of the thrown dagger and duration of Psychic Domination.
  • Psychic Domination now has its range increased by 30% and lasts 1 second
    longer when successfully controlling enemies.

Psychic Echoes [Q]
Psychic Blast fires a second time after a delay.
  • After a 0.75 second delay, Psychic Blast activates a second time in its location.

Mindvision [Active]
Tosh can now enter the mind of a target and see through their eyes.
  • Activate on a target enemy up to 3 range away to gain their vision.
    Targets grant Tosh their entire vision radius for a total of 15 seconds.
    Effect ends if the target is killed. If used on a Minion, the vision radius
    and cooldown is reduced by half.

    This effect can be Cleansed.

    Cost: 25 Energy
    Cooldown: 70 seconds
