Trapper's Bog is a small two lane map based on the "Blood Marsh" zone of Diablo 3. Its tileset is that of a swamp, with ample brush and a map specific feature: shallow pools of water. When a hero moves through these pools ripples are created in their wake. These ripples last for a few seconds, giving players time to notice someone has moved through the area recently. This mechanic allows you to pursue an escaping enemy - - or to find yourself drawn into a trap.
The objective of Trapper's Bog lies in the Trapper Towers that spawn periodically in the map's dangerous jungle. Destroy these Towers to spawn Boggits to push against the enemy's fortifications, buying you time to set up Traps in amongst the swampy reeds. Each Trap that is triggered by the enemy roots them and spawns deadly Trapper Bogans, increasing your pressure against the enemy's waves and allowing you to lie in wait, pouncing upon heroes that stray through the wrong area of the swamp.
Combat Trait
1
Trapper Towers
Trapper Towers will periodically spawn on the battlefield in one of ten locations. In the early game only two Trapper Towers will spawn at a time. As the game progresses they will begin to spawn in greater numbers. By the late game as many as six Trapper Towers will spawn at once. Trapper Towers always spawn in even numbers and their distribution across the battlefield is symmetrical.
When attacking a Trapper Tower, each team has their own health bar to work on. Whichever team depletes their share of the Trapper Tower's health bar first will spawn a wave of Boggits to push down the nearest lane. While a Trapper Tower is alive Boggits will use ranged attacks against nearby heroes that are trying to destroy the Tower.
In addition each time a Trapper Tower is destroyed it will drop a Trap that can be picked up by the team that destroyed it. The Traps are picked up by simply walking over them. Once a hero has a Trap they can deploy it on the battlefield with a short channel using F. Enemy heroes that walk over a Trap become rooted for 3 seconds, and a pair of Bogan Trappers are spawned from the Trap to push down the nearest lane.
Traps activate after 3 seconds. Traps last 2 minutes after being deployed. Once a Trap is deployed it becomes cloaked. Traps can be revealed, but they cannot be destroyed. After a Trap has been triggered it despawns. If a hero who is carrying an undeployed Trap is killed they will lose their trap, but it will not be dropped for other heroes to pick up.
Primary Abilities
1
Boggits
When a Trapper Tower is destroyed six Boggits are spawned that will head to the nearest lane to begin pushing with your minions. Boggits do not have especially high health, meaning they aren't that hard to clear, but they do deal high damage. Boggits that are left unattended can severely damage your fortifications.
2
Bogan Trappers
When an enemy hero steps on a Trap they become rooted for 3 seconds and two Bogan Trappers are spawned. Bogan Trappers will attack the trapped hero for the duration of the root, after which they will move to the nearest lane to push against the enemy forces.
Bogan Trapper's attacks deal poison damage over 3 seconds. Bogan Trappers are similar to Siege Giants in that their attacks out-range towers, making them very dangerous.
3
Bogan Brutes
Bogan Brutes are the only traditional mercenary camps on Trapper's Bog. Each camp consists of three Bogan Brutes. They deal low damage but have high health.
Hahah thank you! I'm not even sure what made me think of these characters. I haven't played Diablo 3 for about a year.
