When Valeera was young, her parents were killed by bandits. In order to survive she had to resort to stealing to survive. All was well until she tried to steal a talisman from a shaman and then was thrown in jail. She was bought by Rehgar to be in his arena team, with Broll Bearmantle and Varian Wrynn. The three went into the training grounds in Ogrimar, she and Broll were taken out quickly but Varian saved them from the other arena team. As a reward they got to take one thing from the hall of legends, where she got her orcish daggers, long as swords and sharp as dragons teeth. They went on the the diremaul arena where they would win and she would get sold to another arena master but she was leader so it wasn't that bad of a deal. Broll and Varian told her that they would help her escape after they did, but she didnt need their help. She was pretending to be this little helpless girl. When she was on a gryphon over a forest she made her move, she made the gryphon drop her escort. She then quickly hid in the forest and circled back around into Thunderbluff to save Broll and Varian. She then overheard an assassin that was to kill Varian and went after him. She ended up chasing him all over the continent and cought up to him in Theramore. Just as the assassin was about to kill Varian she threw her dagger into the back of the assassin and saved Varian. When they were reunited they took a boat to Stormwind that was attacked by Naga. One of the naga had powerful arcane magic, magic which she could boost her power from but Broll told her not to because giving into just a little bit of that power would feed her natural addiction but she didn't listen. She drained just a little bit of it's power to save Broll, but that taste of power left her craving for more. When they harbored, she drained the first person she saw. They found a drunk who recognized Varian and said that he shouldn't be alive. They then followed him into a tavern and got into a brawl, where she then drained a wizard of his magic, again she did it in the best intentions because the wizard was about to attack Varian. But that was not The only reason, she became addicted with the magic. It became even worse the next day when they were going through the market and they saw a vendor selling a dagger infused with fel magic and as she touched the blade it tasted very, very sweet. Broll quickly swept the dagger out of her hands and moved it away for more temptations. When they were on thier way to Ironforge they were abushed by a group of black iron dwarves in the Wetlands. She was shaking so badly from withdrawal that she couldn't through her daggers strait and because of this, Broll took a dagger to the back. That was the message to Valeera that she needed help and she would drink any of Broll's herbal remedies to get over her addiction. Onixia then sent another assassin, this time a powerful warlock, after Varian. This warlock noticed that Valeera had tasted fel magic before, and she even craved it. He then placed a curse on her called the Mark of Kathra'Natir. Kathra'Natir was a powerful dreadlord defeated by the first Guardian and now with his mark on her, the demon lived inside her, crawling through her very soul. Broll managed to kill the warlock easy enough, but the damage was done. After she got around her addiction, all hope seemed lost and she asked Broll to put her down, to not let her live with this curse, Broll promised to her to to anything in order to help her deal with it. He made a brew that would ease the withdrawal pains which made it seem that she had things under control for a while. That is until they reached the gates of Ironforge, one of Onixia's dragons in descise was waiting there for Varian but Valeera saw his magical dagger. She attacked the dragon, again to save Varian's life, but in the process she also gave in to the demon inside. She fed his powers by absorbing his powers as she started cursing in Eredun as she nearly attacked Broll and Varian herself. They then had to go to Black Rock Depths to free Marshall Windser who was close to discovering the identity of the black dragon who caused Varian all of these problems. Valeera made it clear that she had to stay behind to deal with her conditions because she clearly wasn't in control of the situation. Black Rock Depths also hold a whole bunch of magical artifacts, where if she would pass them she would drain them and give them away. That night she had pain of not getting her fix and she saw a vision of her parents. They told her that Broll, Varian, all of them were arrogant and without honor. They had left Valeera behind, like everyone else in her life and this vision called to her. It told her that this world was broken and that it could only be healed with death of all who live. Out of nowhere a blinding light came a light that destroyed these visions. Agewind herself came to Valeera's rescue sensing that she was battling with a powerful force inside of her. Agewind no longer had the power to cleanse her of Kathra'Natir. But she told her that she was not alone, She had so many that cared for her that she could not give in to the temptations of Kathra'Natir. Valeera was stronger than that, and when she wasn't she had others backing her up. She went back to her chambers, took another drink from Broll's brew and eventually got her addictions under control. She starved the demon inside of her and regain control. Broll, Varian and the Marshall returned from Black Rock Depths and knew exactly who was behind all of this. They made plans to go back to Stormwind to reveal the imposter and now that Valeera was clean, she was more than welcome to join them. Awhile later after the noe so pwaceful treaty between the Horde and the Alliance, Valeera saved Varian once again from Garrona Halforcen. Varian recognized her and accused the Horde for sending her after him. And the Horde, not liking being accused, blamed it on the Alliance. The cooler heads like Broll, Rehgar and Valeera realized that it was the work of neither the Horde or the Alliance. And by then the peace treaty negotiations were over. The Twilight Hammer took Garrona's son, Med'an, and Valeera helped her to find her son, not because she wanted to but because she had the answers. Garrona wanted to tell them, she desperatly wanted her son back but she could not because there was a magical spell put on her keeping her from telling them. Jaina could remove the magic but it would cause Garrona agonizing pain, pain she was ready to accept if they would rescue her son. Jaina used her powers and Garrona screamed in agony but she was willing to tell them where they could find Med'an and Cho'Gall. Meryl, an undead mage, who raised Med'an for Garrona showed up at Theramore. At first Valeera didn't want anything to do with him because the scourge nearly wiped out all of her people, so working with an undead like Meryl was something she wasn't willing to do. It was only because Agewind told her to, that she and Meryl then teleported to Un'Cari. at Un'Cari, it wasn't exactly hard to find Med'an since Cho'Gall placed him on top of the corpse of Cu'thun. Valeera freed Med'an while Meryl took care of the guards, but then Cho'Gall showed up. Cho'Gall was working for Cu'thun and Cu'thun was empowering him, and hr wanted to resurrect his fallen old god which meant hw was incredibly powerful and wasly took out Meryl. This left Valeera alone to stand against this monster. She told Med'an to heal off of Meryl so they could teleport away. In the meantime she drained Med'an from some of his powers because she needed the power boost to stand agains Cho'Gall. Remember that she still had the Mark of Kathra'Natir and by starving the demon she could contain it. Now she gave him the magical power he needed and Cho'Gall recognized the demon inside. He taunted the demon to come out and play, while Valeera did her best she could not hold Cho'Gall. The demon whispered to her that he promised her the world, that he could take care of Cho'Gall. at this moment Valeera thought that Broll would say "rather to die than to free the demon", but Valeera thought that it would be better to live, for who knows what tomorrow might bring. She told the demon the he could take over only if he would her and the others. Kathra'Natir, after a millennium he was free and was not able to kill Cho'Gall but was able to hold him back for long enough for Med'an to heal Meryl and for Meryl to teleport them all away. The demon recognized Med'an and his power and then desperately wanted to take him over, but before he could, Meryl stepped in and made him an offer he couldn't refuse. Exchange the body of Valeera for Meryl himself. Now, this ancient undead human mage now held the demon Kathra'Natir. But Meryl was not a simple mage and was able to contain the demon for at least the moment. Valeera was not free from the demon that haunted her and thanked Meryl with all her heart. After that she helped the new Guardian of Tirisfall get his hands on the Atiesh, Great Staff of the Guardian and lent it to Med'an who then used this staff to defeat Cho'Gall. And that's the end of Valeera's story so far...
