Valeera Sanguinar was a companion of Varian Wrynn. She eventually became an enforcer for the New Council of Tirisfal, and accepted the position of an advisor and bodyguard to Varian in Stormwind, with the caveat that she retain her independence. Valeera herself maintains that her loyalties are personal, to her friends and her ideals

Role



Valeera is a versatile melee assassin who uses stealth and underhanded strikes to initiate and ambush her opponents. Learning to build momentum via Combo Points, and spend them at the right moment is key to playing Valeera effectively. With no self healing, Valeera depends on her use of crowd control and stealth to survive.
Learning how to dance in and out of stealth is also key to playing Valeera, as she has separate skills she needs to utilize that can only be used in Stealth.

Combat Trait

Mana: Zero
Cooldown: 12 seconds

Valeera enters Stealth for 8 seconds and increases her movement speed by 15%. Being close to enemy heroes (Range 3.0) will reveal herself to them. Stealth is not broken unless Valeera performs an action or takes damage. During this time Valeera can walk through units.
Damage taken within the first 1 second will not break Stealth.
Being in Stealth grants Valeera new basic abilities.

Notes: Stealths cooldown begins immediately after being cast.

Primary Abilities

Shiv
Active (Q)(Out of Stealth)
Mana cost: 30
Cooldown: 3 seconds
Range: 2 (Just larger than normal melee range)

An instant strike that deals (162+4% per level) damage to a targeted enemy and builds one combo point, or two if struck onto an enemy hero.

Notes: Combo points are generated on Valeera herself, not on specific enemies.
Combo points begin to decay after 10 seconds outside of combat, at a rate of one point of decay per 3 seconds. Example: Valeera leaves combat with 4 combo points to go heal back at base. It will take her 22 seconds for her to lose all of her combo points.

Animation: Valeera shivs forward with some animated purple flare. Similar to what a critical strike on Samuro looks. Does not impede movement.

Fan of Knives
Active (W)(Out of Stealth)
Mana cost: 60
Cooldown: 10 seconds
Range: The range and hitbox of Fan of Knives is similar to Valla's Multishot, but travels instantly.

Valeera sprays knives at all targets in a cone, dealing damage and slowing per combo point.
     1 point : [(62 damage + 4% per level) * 1 ] damage and a 7% tapering slow that fades over 2 seconds.
     2 points: [(62 damage + 4% per level) * 2 ] damage and a 14% tapering slow that fades over 2 seconds.
     3 points: [(62 damage + 4% per level) * 3 ] damage and a 21% tapering slow that fades over 2 seconds.
     4 points: [(62 damage + 4% per level) * 4 ] damage and a 28% tapering slow that fades over 2 seconds.
     5 points: [(62 damage + 4% per level) * 5 ] damage and a 35 tapering slow that fades over 2 seconds.

Notes: A Combo 5 Fan of Knives at level one will do 310 damage.
A Combo 5 Fan of Knives at level ten will do 434 damage.
A Combo 5 Fan of Knives at level twenty will do 558 damage.

Animation: Valeera spins around, whipping multiple green dart-looking poisoned daggers. This animation can be cast while moving, and will not impede movement at all.

Eviscerate
Active (E) (Out of stealth)
Mana cost: 60
Cooldown: 6 seconds
Range: 2 (Same as Shiv)

Valeera attempts a finishing move that disembowels the target, causing damage per combo point.
     1 point : [(107 damage + 4% per level) * 1 ] damage
     2 points: [(107 damage + 4% per level) * 2 ] damage
     3 points: [(107 damage + 4% per level) * 3 ] damage
     4 points: [(107 damage + 4% per level) * 4 ] damage
     5 points: [(107 damage + 4% per level) * 5 ] damage

Note: A Combo 5 Eviscerate at level one will do 533 damage.
A Combo 5 Eviscerate at level ten will do 749 damage.
A Combo 5 Eviscerate at level twenty will do 963 damage.

Animation: Valeera does an impressive spinning strike that aims for the body. There would be a small internal cast time to this, but cannot be interrupted. Acts similar to Sonya's Seismic Slam.

Cooldown: 12 seconds
Range: 2

Valeera performs an underhanded strike, dealing (104+ + 4% per level) damage and stunning the enemy for 1 second.
Generates 2 Combo Points.

Note: This ability replaces Shiv while Valeera is in Stealth or Improved Stealth.

Animation: Valeera strikes underhanded with a dagger.

Garrote
Active (W)(Requires Stealth or Improved Stealth)
Mana cost: 60
Cooldown: 12 seconds
Range: 2

Valeera garrotes the enemy, causing 410 damage over 8 sec and silencing the enemy for 1.5 seconds.
Generates 2 Combo Points.

Note: This ability replaces Fan of Knives while Valeera is in Stealth or Improved Stealth.

Animation: Valeera performs a large sweeping, and bloody, strike on the targets neck.

Ambush
Active (E)(Requires Stealth or Improved Stealth)
Mana cost: 60
Cooldown: 12 seconds
Range: 2

Valeera strikes where it hurts most, dealing (434 + 4% per level) instantly to the target.
Generates 2 Combo Points.

Note: This ability replaces Eviscerate while Valeera is in Stealth or Improved Stealth.

Animation: Valeera pushes a dagger with both hands into the enemy.

Cooldown 50 seconds
Range: 6.0 (Just over typical ranged heroes attack range)

Valeera Shadowsteps to an enemy hero, teleporting behind her target granting herself Improved Stealth for 3 seconds.

Improved Stealth:
Valeera doesn't reveal herself to nearby enemy heroes during Improved Stealth.
Stealth cannot be broken by damage or crowd control. When Improved Stealth times out, Valeera shifts into her normal Stealth.

Animation: To enemy heroes, it looks exactly like Stealth, so that the enemy doesn't know if Valeera has gone into normal Stealth, or has used Shadowstep.

Smoke Bomb
Active (R)
Mana cost: 90
Cooldown: 50 seconds
Range: 5.5
Radius of AoE: 2.5

Valeera creates a cloud of thick smoke at the targeted area for 6 seconds. Enemies are unable to target into or out of the Smoke Bomb.
Enemies inside the Smoke Bomb also have their vision limited to inside the Smoke Bomb.

Animation: Valeera tosses a smoke bomb that explodes into smoke 1 second after landing. Missile speed is quite fast, and the missile itself is quite small.

TIER 1 TALENTS

Recuperate

Quest: Gathering a Regeneration Glove increases your Health Regeneration by 0.5 per second, up to 20 per second. Reward: Upon gathering 20 Regeneration Globes, you can also activate Recuperate to heal 20% of your maximum life over 12 seconds.

Parry

Every 5 auto-attacks made by Valeera, gain 75 Physical Armor against the next Hero Basic Attack, reducing damage taken up by 75%. Stores up to 2 charges.

Culling Blades

Increase Fan of Knives damage by 100% to Minions and Mercenaries.

TIER 4 TALENTS

Slice and Dice

After using an Ability, Valeera's attack speed increases by 50% for the next 2 Basic Attack within 6 seconds.

Stab Wounds

Casting Shiv on an enemy Hero empowers your next shiv by 25%. This effect lasts for 6 seconds and stacks twice.

Camouflage

Being Stealthed near enemies no longer reveal you to them, and also increases the Movement Speed bonus of Stealth by 10%, up to 25% at all times.

TIER 7 TALENTS

Gladiators Advance

Basic Attacks lower the cooldown of all basic abilities by 0.5 seconds. This includes Stealth, and all Stealth required abilities.

Grievous Wound

When Eviscerate is cast on an enemy Hero while spending at least 3 Combo Points, reduce all incoming healing by 50% to the target for 4 seconds.

Blood Trail

Increase the damage of Garrote by 10%, and Garrote now reveals the enemy hero for the duration of the bleed.

TIER 10 TALENTS

Shadow Step

Mana cost: 90
Cooldown 50 seconds

Valeera Shadowsteps to an enemy hero, teleporting behind her target granting herself Improved Stealth for 3 seconds.
Improved Stealth: Valeera doesn't reveal herself to nearby enemy heroes during Improved Stealth.
