Varian

The Lion

One of the most fierce warriors of Azeroth and most just of all Kings - Varian Wrynn is a conquerer and protector alike. Throughout the years of imprisonment, when the horde forced him to fight in their barbaric gladiator pits, and those of power, when he defended his people from harm, he learned one important lesson. The peace is the greatest of virtues. But sometimes in order to preserve the peace... You must be willing to fight! A sturdy defender and a heavy tank, Varian is a warrior, who prioterises in damage mitigation and buffing his allies. Pros: Great survivability. Strong early and late game. Cons: He lacks any CC. Struggles in mid-game.

Combat Trait

Gladiator
For every 10% missing health, King Varian has all incoming enemy Hero damage reduced by 2%.

Primary Abilities

Shalamayne
King Varian Wrynn throws his legendary sword at an enemy, dealing 120 (+4% per level) damage to it. Simple point-and-click single target damage. Has 8 second cooldown. Costs 30 mana.

Battle Shout
King Varian sends out a fierce battlecry, increasing the damage of the basic attacks of nearby heroes by 10% for 2 seconds.Buffs all nearby heroes, in a moderate area. Has 8 second cooldown. Costs 40 mana.

Advance!
King Varian charges increasing his movement speed by 20% for 1 second. Can be extended up to 4 seconds if Varian does not stop moving.Works as a self buff. Something like Sprint. 12 second cooldown. Costs 35 mana.

Heroic Abilities

A King's Resolve
Varian becomes Unstoppable for 3 seconds. Also he heals himself for 15% of his health in this period. Has a 60 second cooldown. Costs 60 mana.

A Gladiator's Resilience
Passively increases Varian's health regeneration by 20 per second. Activate to heal for 15% of his health over 3 seconds. Has a 50 second cooldown. Costs 60 mana.

Level 1 Talents

1. SHARPENED BLADE


Ads 100% damage to SHALAMAYNE [Q] against non-hero units.

2. ENERGIZING SHOUT (! Quest)


Each hero affected by BATTLESHOUT [W] increases its duration by 0.05 seconds up to a total of 1 second. After affecting 20 heroes also adds 15% ability power to the spells's buff.

3. COMMANDING SHOUT (! Quest)


Each hero affected by BATTLESHOUT [W] reduces it's cooldown by 0.1 seconds up to a total of 2 seconds. After affecting 20 heroes also adds additional 10% to their attack damage (total of 20% increased basic attack damage).

4. REGENERATION MASTER (! Quest)


Gathering regeneration globes increases Varian's health regeneration by 1 per second. After gathering 30 globes increases his health points by 500.

Level 4 talents

1. STRONG THROWw


Increases SHALAMAYNE [Q] range by 20%. Also makes it splash for 60% of the damage dealt to the primary target.

2. A LION'S LEAP (! Quest)


Spend 30 seconds under the affect of ADVANCE! [E]. After spending 30 seconds - reduces its cooldown by 3 seconds.

3. AN EAGLE'S SOAR (! Quest)


Reach the maximum duration of ADVANCE! [E] 20 times. After that increase its maximum duration to 5 seconds and its movement speed bonus to 25%.

Level 7 talents

1. A KING'S ADVANCE


Makes your next basic attack after using ADVANCE! [E] to deal 175% extra damage.

2. HARDENED STEEL


Increases the damage reduction bonus of GLADIATOR [Trait] to 3% of each 10% missing health. When 50% or more are missing from your health - increase the damage reduction further to 4%.

3. A BRUISED DEFENDER (! Quest)


Have your health reduced to 50% by enemy heroes 20 times. After that you will become protected for 1 second every time a damaging hero attack or spell brings you under 50% health. This effect has 5 second cooldown.

4. BRAWLER AND COMMANDER (! Quest)


Whenever enemy hero's spell brings you below 50% of your health you reduce spell damage taken by 30% for 1.5 seconds. After being taken under 50% health by enemy hero's spell 10 times this effect's duration is increased to 3 seconds. Has a 10 second cooldown.

Level 13 Talents

1. EXECUTIONER


Attacking heroes that are slowed, polymorphed, rooted of stunned increase your basic attack damage by 30% for 3 seconds.

2. FIRE AND STEEL


Your next basic attack after using SHALAMAYNE [Q] has its damage increased by 175%.

3. BOOMING VOICE


Increases the radius of BATTLE SHOUT [W] by 25%.

Level 16 talents

1. STAND YOUR GROUND


Heroes affected by BATTLE SHOUT [W] will also have incoming hero ability damage reduced by 20% for 2 seconds. Does not work on self.

2. FEEL NO PAIN


Allied heroes affected by BATTLE SHOUT [W] will have the next basic hero attack made against them in the next 5 seconds blocked for 50% of the damage. Does not work on self.

3. SKULL CRACKER


Every 3rd succesful basic attack against an enemy will stun them for 0.75 seconds.

Level 20 talents

1. UNENDING RESOLVE


Reduces the cooldown of A KING'S RESOLVE [R] by 20 seconds and makes all allies, affected by BATTLE SHOUT [W] to get the full effect out of A KING'S RESOLVE [R].

2. INSPIRING RESILENCE


Increases the health regeneration bonus of A GLADIATOR'S RESILENCE [R] by 20 per second. Also casts untalented version of BATTLE SHOUT [W] when activated.

3. THE STRONG NEVER SURRENDER


Whenever Varian gets a takedown, or an ally of his dies, cast a free ADVANCE! [E]. Also this effect is applied to all allies, currently affected by BATTLE SHOUT [W].

4. STORM SHIELD


Activate to give all nearby allies a shield that equals 20% of their health. 60 second cooldown.
