Vol'jin

Chieftain of the Darkspears

Vol'jin is a ranged Healer inspired by the Shadow Hunter unit from Warcraft 3, a utility oriented support. Vol'jin can be blessed by the Loa, granting him abilities and passives that aid him in battle.

Combat Trait

Commune with de Loa
At Level 1, choose a Loa to commune with. Completing their quest will grant you an active ability and a passive bonus.

Protection of Kings
Give an ally 75 Armor, but all damage taken by the target is also done to Vol'jin for 3 seconds.

Cooldown: 50 seconds.

Bwonsamdi's Major Mojo
After 1 second delay, heal all targets around you. They are also healed for a large % of their missing health.

Cooldown: 80 seconds.

Serpentine Form
On cast, all movement impairing effects are removed from Vol'jin and he dashes a medium distance in a chosen direction. Afterwards, the cooldown of Serpent Ward is refreshed.

Cooldown: 20 seconds.

Primary Abilities

Spirit Healing
Channel on an ally to rapidly heal them over 2.5 seconds. The healing exponentially increases the longer you channel it. You can cast this ability on yourself.

Cooldown: 8 seconds, 2 charges.

Serpent Ward
Summon a untargetable and unkillable Serpent Ward at target location, after 0,5 seconds delay it activates. The Ward lasts 5 seconds and attacks nearby enemies for low damage. Every time the snake attacks a Hero, it's duration is increased.
While the Serpent Ward is active, this ability becomes Serpent Rush. Serpent Rush makes it so the Ward dashes a short distance in a chosen direction, stunning enemies it passes through for 1 second.

Cooldown: 12 seconds.

Veil of Shadows
Vol'jin covers himself in shadows, gaining a large burst of movement speed which decays up to over 4 seconds. While covered by shadows, Vol'jin gains 30 Physical Armor.
On reactivation or when the ability ends, Vol'jin loses 30 Armor and is slowed for the duration that the ability was active.

Cooldown: 15 seconds.
Mana cost: 40

Secondary Abilities

Offering to de Loa
Sacrifice 20% of Vol'jin's health. For the next 5 seconds, your abilities recharge 100% faster.

Cooldown: 20 seconds.

Blessing of de Loa
Bless a target until they die or you bless another one. Bless is based on chosen Loa.

Rezan: Health is increased by 750.
Bwonsamdi: Spell power is increased by 15%.
Dambala: Attack speed is increased by 15%.

Heroic Abilities

Big Bad Voodoo
All nearby allied Heroes become Unkillable for 5 seconds, except Vol'jin. If Vol'jin is killed, the effect ends (the Unkillable effect is only active as long as Vol'jin stays around his allies).

Cooldown: 100 seconds.

Mass Hex
After a short delay, Vol'jin hexes all enemies in a large circular area into harmless frogs for 2,5 seconds. If enemies die while Hex'd, they explode, dealing damage to any other enemy nearby.

Cooldown: 60 seconds.

Level 1 Talents

-Rezan, Loa of Kings (D)


Quest: Gather 20 Healing Globes.
Reward: If you or target have any Armor while casting Spirit Healing, both share the highest value while it is active. If you channel Spirit Healing for its full duration, this Armor buff lasts an additional 2 seconds. Your Trait becomes Protection of Kings.

-Bwonsamdi, Loa of Death (D)


Quest: Take X ammount of damage while Veil of Shadows Armor buff is active.
Reward: Vol'jin gains a large aura that increases healing received from Vol'jin by allies the lower their health is, and Veil of Shadows grants 75 Physical Armor if it is cast while under 50% health. Your Trait becomes Bwonsamdi's Major Mojo.

Quest: Hit 10 enemies with Serpent Rush.
Reward: Serpent Rush has increased width and range, Serpent Ward lasts an additional second and grants vision of a large area around where it is summoned. Your Trait becomes Serpentine Form.

Level 4 Talents

-Blade of Slaying: Auto attacks increase attack speed by 10% up to 40% for 4 seconds. Auto attacks refresh the duration.

-Blade of Chasing: Auto attacks slow the target by 10%, up to 20% for 2 seconds. Auto attacks refresh the duration.

-Blade of Cleaving: Auto attacks deal 25% more damage and bounce to a nearby target for half the damage.

Level 7 Talents

-Spiritual Connection (Q): Increase the range of Spirit Healing and restore 15 Mana to yourself and target ally if you fully channel it.

-Reinvigorate (Q): Target gains 15% Movement Speed while Spirit Healing is channeled, if fully channeled, give yourself and target ally 30% Movement Speed for 2 seconds.

-Mojo Exchange (Q): Spirit Healing gains another charge. If fully channeled, the target is healed for a burst of health equal to 10% of their maximum health.

Level 13 Talents

-Healing Rain (Q): While channeling Spirit Healing, all alies around you or the target ally received moderate healing every 0,5 seconds. The range of the rain increases the longer you channel Spirit Healing.

-Spiritual Resonance (W): Serpent Ward releases healing pulses every second. Whenever Vol'jin lands an auto attack on a Hero, increase the duration of the Serpent Ward and release another healing pulse.

-Offering to the Loa (Active): Sacrifice 20% of Vol'jin's health. For the next 5 seconds, your abilities recharge 100% faster.

Level 16 Talents

-Spirit Mastery: Gain all Level 7 Talents. Fully channeling Spirit Healing increases Spell Power by 10% for 10 seconds, up to 30%.

-Mystical Anger: Serpent Ward now breathes fire in a cone, dealing damage to any enemy inside. Landing Serpent Rush increases attack speed by 50% for both Vol'jin and the Serpent Ward.

-Bad Voodoo: Veil of Shadows now grants 30 Spell Armor and no longer debuffs Vol'jin. When Vol'jin reactivates Veil of Shadows or when the ability ends, debuff all enemies around him with 50% Healing Reduction and -15 Armor.

Storm Talents

-Voodoo Overload: Big Bad Voodoo's cooldown is reduced by 40 seconds and it grants a large decaying buff of attack and movement speed on cast to all targets affected.

-Jungle Magic: Mass Hex now reduces Armor by 20 and the explosion slows enemies hit by 99% decaying over 1 second.

-Blessings of the Loa (Active): Your chosen Loa blesses a teammate until you choose to bless another one or they die.

-Spiritual Restoration: If you have a Serpent Ward active when you cast Spirit Healing, it also casts a untalented version of Spirit Healing on the nearest ally with the lowest health.

Blessing of De Loa (Rezan) is too powerful, I think. Alexstrasza has a level 20 secondary ability talent, as I'm sure you're aware, Blessing of the Red, which grants a target +500 max hp, but has a 40-second cooldown and cannot target herself. Other than that and a few other numbers, I like the concept, especially Protection of Kings; and while 75 is a lot of armour, 20 globes isn't an early game quest, and I like the catch, it's a neat idea :)

Alextrasa's Blessing of the Red can be cast on ALL allied heroes, while this can only affect one at a time, that's why it gives more health :p , and thank you!
