Vol'Jin

Warchief of Darkspear

Vol'Jin is a support hero without mana like Auriel. He uses his own health for cast his abilities but he has same pool of hp as a warrior.
He has options for escape, crowl control, deal damage or heal.

Strong point :
- He's a multipurpose hero, with many different build according to the situation
- Good sustain

Weakness :
- Weak damage and have difficulty for heal himself
- Must put himself in danger for be useful

Combat Trait

Troll Regeneration
Vol'Jin always recovers 2.5% maximum of health per second, even if he takes damage.

Primary Abilities

[Q] Life channel
Range : 6 units
Cost : 8% maximum of health per second
Cd : 0,5 second

Vol'Jin channels a heal for an ally for 240 hp per second as long as they are in the range. Vol'Jin must stop for channel.

[W] Dark axe
Range : 4 units
Cd : 9 seconds

Vol'Jin throws an axe in a direction and backdash in opposite direction. Axe deals 180 damage to first enemy and slows him for 60% fading over 1.5 secondes.

[E] Hex
Range : 5 units
Cost : 10% maximum of health
Cd : 10 seconds

Launches a potion that transforms enemies heroes for 1.5 secondes in a small area and for 0.75 seconde in a larger area. Transformed heroes are silenced and cannot attack.

Range : 5 units
Cd : 60 secondes

Vol'Jin sends his mind, while it hits an hero, switch your percentage life with the target.
Enemies heroes can't lose below 10% maximum of health.

[R2] Big bad voodoo
Range : 6 units
Cost : 10% maximum of health to activation, 6% maximum of health per second
Cd : 2 seconds

Grants all around other allies 25 armor as long as they are in the range, reducing damage taken by 25%. Vol'Jin can move in same time.

Level 1


[D] Lukou's blessing :
Quest : Spend 120 seconds below 50% health.
Reward : Recover now 5% maximum of health per second when he's below 50% health.
Quest : Spend 240 seconds below 50% health.
Reward : Gain 600 Health.

[E] Ogoun's blessing :
Quest : Strike 10 heroes in the small area with Hex.
Reward : Increase transforming duration by 0.5 second in the small area.
Quest : Strike 30 heroes in the large area with Hex.
Reward : Remove the cost for this ability.

Dambala's blessing :
Quest : Gather 25 Regenerations Globes.
Reward : After gathering 25 Regeneration globes, Vol'jin can activate for begin stealth and gain 50% movespeed for 5 seconds.

Bwonsamdi's blessing :
Quest : Attack an enemy heroes heal Vol'jin for 1% of this maximum health.
Reward : After attacking heroes 60 times, increase basic attack's damage by 50%.
Reward : After attacking heroes 120 times, Vol'jin gain 5 Armor point by Basic attack against enemy heroes, up to 25, for 6 seconds.

Level 4


Sentry ward :
Places a ward at target location, granting vision and revealing a large area around it for 45 seconds. Reveal also invisible and is killed by enemies with 2 Basic attacks. Stores up to 2 charges. Cd : 20 seconds.

Stasis trap ward :
Places a ward that become invisible after 3 seconds. Stuns then the first near enemy heroes for 2 seconds. Last 90 seconds.

Healing ward :
Places a ward healing nearby allies for their 2% maximum health for 10 seconds.

Level 7


[E] Bad potion :
Hex deals now 160 damage in the small area and 80 damage in the large area.

[Q] Spirit link :
40% damage taking by the target are instead dealing to you.

[W] Moving shade :
After backdash fades, increase move speed 60% for 1.5 second.



Level 13 :


Protection of loas :
While Vol'jin is below 50% health, he grant 75 Spell Armor for 3 seconds, reducing Spell damage by 75%. Cd 15 seconds.

Healing salve :
Heal 400 hp all allies in the targeted location. Cd : 45 seconds.

[W] Dark spear :
Remove Dark axe's backdash but Dark axe's slow no longer fades out and deals 120 additional damage over 1.5 seconds.

Shrink ray :
Reduce an enemy hero's damage by 50% and move speed by 50 % for 4 seconds.


Level 16


Berserker :
While below 50% maximum of health, increase attack speed by 50%.

[W] Pair of axe :
Hold a second charge.

[Q] Witch doctor :
Can move at 75% move speed while channeling Life channel and increase range by 20%.


Level 20


[R1] Shango's blessing :
If the target is an enemy hero, stun him for 2 seconds.

[R2] Legda's blessing :
Increase also allies move speed by 20% as long as they are in the range.

Storm shield :
Give all allied nearby heroes a shield for 20% of their maximum health for 3 seconds.

Voodoo's spirit :
Upon dying, you can continue to use Life channel and Hex for 10 seconds.

Change about Talent lvl 1 : Ogoun's Blessing : now remove the cost of hex when he completes the quest.
Need to strike 12 heroes instead 10 heroes.

The concept is quite nice and fits both his wow and hearthstone abilities but i think soul swap is broken. If you use it against an enemy when you are very low you can set them to a minimum of 10 percent life, even if its a skill shot you can always potentially get the jump on the, with the level 20 talent you'd also stun them for 2 seconds making it impossible to not kill them without a problem. The ult is a nice concept but i think it needs balancing as it allows you to instantly kill any enemy without penalty regardless of them being an assassin or tank or having any damage reduction as you'll only need to manage to pop 10 percent of their life while they're stunned for 2 seconds when you also have a hex for further cc in which they'd be defenseless. Also the talent upgrade makes life swap be only worthwhile on use against enemy heroes, not really giving you reason to help allies with it, i think it would be good if it gives both an upgrade for using on enemies and allies. Well aside from that i think it's a very lovely concept, +1 from me mate;D.

Also HEX it's self seems really strong. I would change it to 1.25 and 0.5, but increase radius by about 20% (assuming Chromie Dragon Breath esque area.)

Ho ? ok i'll think about a rework for this talent. I don't think he is so strong, brightwing has 2 sec polymorph lvl 16 directly targeting when vol'jin must suceed to tough enemy. Alright, maybe instead a larger area or no cost for this talent. And strike 15 enemies. Think, think, think ...
