Leader of the Darkspear


Vol'jin! Wisest chieftain of the Horde so far, in my opinion.

This concept is a mash of the traditional Warcraft 3 units "Shadow Hunter" and "Beserker". I also included stealth; even though there are many ways to counter stealth, I do believe it is a mechanic that has not been properly explored yet, so I added it to his kit.

If you've glanced at my Spellbreaker concept, you would see that I dislike generic talents on heroes, so I've given a map on many possible ways he could be built with these abilities.

I've published it without much polish. Work in progress! :^)

Combat Trait

Darkspear Rengeneration
Health regeneration is 50% faster and attack speed is 15% faster than other heroes.

Primary Abilities

Fatal Spear
Aim a spear that deals moderate damage to the first target it hits. Cooldown: 5 seconds.

Hexing Trap
Plant a small trap that arms after 3 seconds. Enemy units caught in the trap will turn into a critter for 3 seconds and deal 1 damage. Traps last 60 seconds, do not grant vision, and do not break stealth placing them. 3 charges, 15 second recharge.

Shadow Hunter's Grace
Activate to enter stealth for 15 seconds, gaining 15% increased movement speed. Taking or dealing damage, mounting, or channeling will decloak the hero. 10 second cooldown, does not start until effect has expired.

Heroic Abilities

Big Bad Vodoo
Drastically reduces enemy's vision radius for 4 seconds. Affects globally; must be channeled for the duration. 70 second cooldown.

Berserk
Activate to gain a heightened sense of awareness, increasing vision radius, attack speed, movement speed, and damage taken by 2% per auto attack, up to a total of 30%. Lasts 20 seconds. 80 second cooldown.

Level 1 Talents;

Serpent Ward - Activate to place a ward that provides vision. This ward will deal your current auto attack damage and speed to nearby heroes. Wards last 40 seconds. Cannot have more than two wards placed.
Structural Weakness - Fatal Spear prevents enemy turrets from firing for 0.75 seconds.
Best in Hexin' - Reduces mana cost of Hex Trap by 20 mana.
Leader of the Darkspear - Attack speed and health regeneration granted by your trait are increased by 10%.

Level 4 Talents;

Chained Spear - After throwing a Fatal Spear, another may be thrown with no cost within the next 2 seconds.
Eyes in the Dark - 15% increased vision radius while Shadow Hunter's Grace is active.
Bit o' Spice - Hex Trap now deals light damage over time when activated by an enemy unit.
Good Aim - Auto attack range is now 10% farther.

Level 7 Talents;

Heavy Shot - Fatal Spear pierces through the first target and hits 2 more for 50% damage, but increases the cooldown by 2 seconds.
Fast-Acting Magic - Reduces arming time of Hex trap by 1 second.
Gift of the Shadows - Increase mana regeneration by 100% while Shadow Hunter's Grace is active.
Adrenaline - While below 50% health, cooldowns are reduced by 50%

Level 13 Talents;

Croaking Frogs - Enemy units that are affected by Hex Traps are revealed for 1.5 seconds.
Horned Spear - When Fatal Spear hits a target, both you and the target are rooted for 2 seconds.
Spiral Throw - Increases range of Fatal Spear by 20%.
Situational Awareness - Gain 20% movement speed, decaying over 2 seconds, when leaving a cloaked area.

Level 16 Talents;

Chained Hex - Activate to detonate all hexing bombs at once, dealing all talented effects in a 200% increased radius. 60 second cooldown.
Shadow Hunter's Fury - All damage done within stealth and 2 second from leaving stealth is 100% more potent.
Shadow Hunter's Patience - Increases duration of Shadow Hunter's Grace by 10 seconds.
Shadow Hunter's Wisdom - Stealth continued for 2 seconds after doing an action that would break stealth.

Level 20 Talents;

Vodoo Shuffle - Increases the duration of Big Bad Vodoo by 1.5 seconds. You now dance while channeling this ability.
Tempered - Berserk's duration is increased by 10 second. Can now be cancelled.
