Ingenius Scientist

A super-intelligent, genetically engineered gorilla, Winston is a brilliant scientist and a champion for humanity's potential.
The Horizon Lunar Colony was established as a first step for humanity's renewed exploration of space. Among its residents was a group of genetically enhanced gorillas that were intended to test the effects of prolonged habitation in space.

One gorilla displayed such rapid brain development from the gene therapy that he was taken under the wing of Dr. Harold Winston, who taught him science and inspired him with tales of human ingenuity. The young gorilla passed his days assisting with the scientists' experiments, watching the distant blue world outside his habitat window, dreaming of the endless possibilities that awaited him there.

But his life was thrown into chaos when the other gorillas led an uprising, killed the mission scientists, and claimed the colony for their own. Taking on the name of his beloved human caretaker, Winston built a makeshift rocket and escaped to Earth. There he found a new home with Overwatch, an organization that represented everything he had come to admire about humanity. Winston was finally able to live up to the heroic ideal that had been instilled in him.

Now with the fall of Overwatch, Winston has gone into seclusion, once again cut off from the world he believes in, but longing for the days of heroism to return.

Winston is intended as a mobile tank, who disrupts the positioning of the opposing team by blocking them off or redirecting their attacks. Although ranged like Rexxar, he is suited to being in close quarters and can be talented to see benefit when doing so.

Combat Trait

Expansive Mind
Collecting Regeneration Orbs permanently increases your maximum Mana by 15 and causes your abilities to cool down twice as quickly for 3 seconds.

Primary Abilities

Tesla Cannon
Cooldown: 5 seconds after channeling stops
Range: 6
Mana: 8 per second, increasing by 3 per second each time the Beam increases in speed, up to a maximum of 30 additional mana per second.

Channel a Tesla beam at the target, the beam deals 27 (+5 per hero level) damage in half second intervals so long as the channel remains within 6 range. For every 5 instances of damage dealt to a single target consecutively, the beam will increase the speed at which it deals damage by 15%, stacking up to a maximum of 150% increase.

Winston will always direct his beam at the primary target, other targets can intercept the beam however, blocking the damage taken by the primary target. Reactivate the ability to cancel.

Winston moves 15% slower whilst he is channeling the beam.

(Maximum speed is damage dealt every 0.125 seconds)

Jump Pack
Cooldown: 15 seconds
Mana: 60
Range: 7

Leap towards the target location and crash down, dealing 54 (+16 per hero level) damage to all targets within the impact zone, rooting them in place for 0.25 seconds.

Shield Projector
Cooldown: 10 seconds after deactivation.
Mana: 10 per second, increased by 10 mana a second if the shield is recovering lost health

Radiate a shield outwards from your Shield Projector that forms an aura of radius 4 around you. Any projectiles aimed towards targets within the shielded area are blocked by the shield, be they direct or skillshot projectiles. Any charges made towards the shield from enemy abilities are also blocked causing the enemy to stop outside the shield radius, although the enemy may move into the shielded area via foot or mounted movement or teleports. The shield lasts until you cancel it or it is destroyed.

The shield has health equal to 143 (+97 per hero level) damage before it is destroyed, and will recover 5% of the maximum health amount every second if it has lost health. If an ability inflicts more damage than the shield has left, it will bypass the shield block and inflict full damage on the intended target.

If the shield is destroyed it is placed on cooldown for 20 seconds.

Enemy attacks and abilities made from within the shielded area are unaffected.

Heroic Abilities

Primal Rage
Cooldown: 60 seconds
Mana: 80

Enter a Primal rage for 12 seconds, so long as Primal Rage is active you are Resistant, gain 20% movement speed and your basic attack is replaced with a melee attack, reducing your attack speed by 40% and increasing the damage done by your basic attacks by 120%. Tesla Cannon and Shield Projector cannot be used whilst this effect is active.
Whilst Primal Rage is active your basic attacks reduce the cooldown of Jump Pack by 5 seconds.

Conductive Pylon
Charge Cooldown: 30 seconds (no cooldown between casts of charges)
Max Charges: 2 (Begin with 2)
Range: 6
Mana: 50

Place a Pylon at the target location. The Pylon is an impassable object, and radiates an electrical field that deals 20 (+3 per hero level) damage to nearby targets each second. Damage from multiple Pylons will stack.

If a Pylon is within 8 range of another Pylon, an electrical barrier will form between them. The first heroic or boss-mercenary target that touches this barrier trips it, stunning them for 2 seconds. Whilst this stun is active the target suffers 5% of their maximum health as damage every 0.5 seconds. The barrier between the same two Pylons will not reform if destroyed in this way.

Minions and mercenaries cannot pass through the barrier.

Special Mount

Simian Stride
Causes Winston to lope on all fours, increasing his speed to that of a mounted hero. This effect is removed if attacked and has a short cast time similar to mounting.

Talents Level 1

Superconductive Shield - [Generic Passive]
Once every 10 seconds, Winston will gain a charge of Block, reducing the damage taken from an enemy hero basic attack by 50%. Can store up to 2 charges.

Each time Tesla Cannon deals damage, the cooldown of this talent is decreased by 0.5 seconds.

Chain Induction - [Tesla Cannon Passive]
Tesla Cannon deals 50% more damage to minions and mercenaries. If Tesla Cannon kills any target of these types you recover 5% of your maximum mana, and you can reactivate it instantly on any other minion or mercenary within range so long as it's within 2 seconds. When reactivated in this manner Tesla Cannon while half the charge level of the previous use.

Heat Seeking Simian -
When damaging an enemy hero, Jump Pack will burn the target dealing 40% of the original ability's damage over 2 seconds.

Imaginative Insight - [Expansive Mind Passive]
Increases the amount of Mana recovered from Regeneration orbs by 100%

Regeneration Master - [Generic Passive]
Collecting Regeneration Orbs increases your permanent health regeneration by 1.5 per second.

Talents Level 4

Neural Block - [Generic Active]
Passive: If you have not used an ability within the last 4 seconds, increase your mana regeneration by 0.1 (+0.1 per hero level)

Active:You may activate your trait to gain an absorption shield equal to 50% of your maximum mana, increased by 1% for every 1% mana you have remaining. The shield lasts up to 5 seconds.

30 second cooldown.

Rocket Boots -
Jump Pack increases your movement speed by 10% for 3 seconds, increased by an additional 5% for each target damaged by the ability, up to a maximum of 30% in total.

Return Fire - [Shield Projector Passive]
Each time your Shield Projector blocks a ranged attack or ability, you gain a charge of Return Fire. Return Fire increases the range of your next basic attack by 100% and increases the damage it deals by 100%. You can store up to 3 charges.

Mercenary Lord - [Generic Passive]
Decrease damage taken from Mercenaries by 50% and increase damage dealt by nearby non-boss mercenaries by 50%.

Talents Level 7

Overclocked Capacitor - [Generic Passive]
Your basic attacks reduce the cooldown of your abilities by 0.25 seconds, the effect is doubled whilst Primal Rage is active.

Toe To Toe - [Generic Passive]
Your Basic Attacks deal 25% more damage to targets within 2 or less range of you. Tesla Cannon damage is increased by 10% against targets within this range.

Manotech Projection - [Shield Projector Passive]
Reduce the mana per second cost of Shield Projector by 3 whilst the shield is healthy and 5 if the shield is recovering.

Nasty Plot - [Expansive Mind Passive]
You gain 1 permanent attack damage for each stack of Expansive Mind you have.

Crackling Rage - [Generic Passive]
Your basic attacks and Tesla Cannon damage intervals cause you to begin to radiate an electrical damage shield that deals 5 (+1 per hero level) damage to all targets around you per second, stacking up to 4 times and lasting 6 seconds.

Bumpy Landing -
Jump Pack slows targets damaged by 40% for 2.5 seconds.

Anti-Energon Aegis - [Shield Projector Passive]
Activating Shield Projector grants you, and the projected shield a shared charge of Spell Shield, which reduces the damage of the next ability that damage either target by 50% and reduces ability damage for 3 seconds thereafter. If the charge is consumed on one target, it is also consumed on the other but without benefit for them.
Every 3 seconds you channel Shield Projector reduces the cooldown of Anti-Energon Aegis by 4 seconds. If the cooldown is refreshed whilst you are channelling this ability, it will reapply the effect.
30 second cooldown.

Greased Lightning - [Tesla Cannon Passive]
Removes the movement speed penalty from Tesla Cannon and causes it to slow targets within 3 range or less by 20% for 1 second.

Talents Level 16

Fuelled for Life -
Jump Pack heals you for 5% of your maximum health when used, plus an additional 1% for each target damaged by the ability (up to a maximum of 5% additional healing).

Meteor Landing -
The damage of Jump Pack is increased by 25% for each target hit, up to a maximum of 200% bonus damage.

Resistance is Futile - [Tesla Cannon Passive]
Tesla Cannon now pierces, making enemy targets unable to block the damage aimed at other targets. Tesla Cannon can charge up from multiple targets so long as they suffer consecutive damage.

Windup Wattometer [Generic Passive]
Every third basic attack increases your attack speed by 5%, stacking up to 5 times. Basic attack range increased by 25%.
If Primal Rage is active each attack applies the attack speed bonus, and instead of bonus range your attacks splash for 50% damage in a moderate aoe.

Kinetic Disperser - [Shield Projector Passive]
Enemies within your Shield Protector aura have their attack speeds slowed by 40%.

Talents Level 20

Go Ape - [Primal Rage Passive]
Activating Primal Rage removes all crowd control effects. Whilst active crowd control effects have their duration on you reduced by 50% and assisting in hero takedowns extends the duration by 3 seconds.

Good Connection - [Conductive Pylon Passive]
You can store an additional charge of this ability. If all three pylons connect a field forms in the space between them. Enemies within this field take damage equal to 3% of their maximum health every second. The field persists for as long as all three pylons remain connected.

Brain-Bolt Barrier - [Expansive Mind Passive]
Your basic attacks and damage instances of Tesla Cannon shield you for 2 (+2 per Regeneration Orb collected) damage as absorption shields. The Shield amount stacks up to (30x Regeneration Orbs Collected) and lasts 6 seconds. Whilst Primal Rage is active shields generated by this talent are increased by 100%

Hardened Shield - [Generic Active]
Reduce damage taken by 75% for 4 seconds. 60 second cooldown.
