Nightmare Lord

Lord Xavius was the first to answer Sargeras' call and convinced his queen to turn on her people, starting the War of the Ancients. As he lay defeated at the bottom of the sea, the Old Gods came to his rescue. They only asked for one thing, to turn the Emerald Dream into a living nightmare, and Xavius was happy to comply.

Aside from mana, Xavius uses a unique resource known as Corruption. Corruption is not displayed by Xavius, rather, a red bar below the enemies' health and mana displays the amount they possess individually.
Each enemy Hero can have a maximum of 100 Corruption. Corruption is generated by taking damage from Xavius' abilities and attacks, but some of them consume or benefit from it, rather than generate it.
Corruption is decreased after not taking damage for 3 seconds at the rate mana regenerates at the Hall of Storms (Hearthstone).

Manifest Corruption
Cooldown: 30 seconds
Activate to consume all Corruption on an enemy, summoning a Corruption Horror at the target's location that deals damage and has health dependent on the Corruption consumed.

Health Regen: 0.1 (+0.2 per level) per Corruption
Attack Damage: 1 (+0.2 per level) per Corruption
Attack Range: 1.2
Movement Speed: 100% Attack Speed: 1.2

Passive: Xavius' Basic Attacks increase Corruption on the target by 1.

Projectile Speed: 5 (per second)
After 0.8 seconds, launch a bolt of nightmare energy that damages the first Hero it hits, dealing 163 (+4% per level) damage and increasing their Corruption by 5.

Nightmare Blades
Cooldown: 15 seconds
50 Mana
Range: 10
Select 2 enemies, then, after 2.25 seconds, summon a wave of blades that extends from Xavius to the targets and deal 135 (+4% per level) damage to all enemies on its path and knocking them to the side. Enemies hit gain 10 Corruption.

Growing Paranoia
Cooldown: 25 seconds
80 Mana
Range: 10
Place a debuff on an enemy Hero for 8 seconds that deals 38 (+4% per level) damage and increases Corruption by 3 every second. After 5 seconds, if they are standing within 3.8 range of another enemy Hero, they will be feared in place for the remaining duration.

Summon 4 Nightmare Tentacles around you that last 6 seconds and launch untalented Nightmare Bolts that deal 20% reduced damage at the nearest enemy, prioritizing Heroes.

Cooldown: 0.5 seconds
Activate to focus all tentacles and Corruption Horrors on a target. Activate again to cancel.

Heroic Abilities

The Tear of Elune
Cooldown: 90 seconds

Range (Distance traveled by Tear): 10
Projectile Speed: 1.5 (per second)
After 1.5 seconds, launch the corrupted Tear of Elune in a straight line, burrowing itself in the first enemy Hero or Mercenary it hits. After 1.25 seconds, take control of them for 5 seconds if it hits a Hero, and 15 seconds if it hits a Mercenary. Taking control of an enemy Hero will not allow you to use their abilities.

You will control the unit in the same way you would Misha as Rexxar or Raynor's Raider.

Corruption Meteor
Cooldown: 100 seconds

Range: 15
Radius: 2.5
After 1.25 seconds, launch a meteor into the air and mark an area for it to land on, after 2 seconds, it lands, dealing 693 (+4% per level) damage and spreading 100 Corruption, split across all enemy Heroes hit.

The AoE will be telegraphed as soon as the meteor is launched, that is, for 2 seconds.

Tier 1 (Level 1) Talents

Nightmare Blast (Q):

After hitting its target, Nightmare Bolt explodes, dealing 70% of its damage in a 2 range area and increasing the Corruption of all enemies hit by 3.

Echoes of the Quiraji (W):

! Quest: Damage 10 enemy heroes with Nightmare Blades. ! Reward: Nightmare Blades damage increased by 15% and it now stores 2 charges.

Pulse of Horror (E):

Growing Paranoia now affects a 1 range area around the target. The stun effect still only applies to the initial target.

Tier 2 (Level 4) Talents

Nightmare Spike (Q):

Nightmare Bolt affects all Heroes in its path and deals 10% more damage.

Note: The Nightmare Blast talent will only trigger on the first Hero hit.

Will of N'Zoth (1):

Writhing Deep now summons 2 additional Nightmare Tentacles.

Overwhelming Panic (E):

Growing Paranoia deals 50% increased damage and lasts 5 additional seconds.

Tier 3 (Level 7) Talents

Crushing Shadows:

When an enemy reaches 33 Corruption, every 10 seconds a Dread Abomination will smash them, dealing 68 (+4% per level) damage and slowing their movement speed by 40% for 3 seconds.

Unfathomable Reality:

When an enemy reaches 66 Corruption, every 2 seconds a mark will appear at their feet and, after 3 seconds, nightmare flames will burst out, dealing 213 (+4% per level) damage and increasing their Corruption by 5 if they are within the area.

Descent into Madness:

When an enemy reaches 100 Corruption, a Nightmare Tentacle will spawn at their location every 3 seconds.

Tier 5 (Level 13) Talents

Nightmare Flare:


Active: Cooldown: 20 seconds
15 Mana
Range: 8
After 0.2 seconds, a beam of nightmare energy falls from the sky, dealing 125 (+4% per level) damage to the target enemy, Blinding them for 5 seconds and increasing their Corruption by 5.

Nightmare Shield:


Active: Cooldown: 30 seconds
Range: 10
Activate to consume all Corruption on an enemy to gain a shield equal to 68 (+4% per level) multiplied by the Corruption consumed.

Nightmare Rupture:


Active: Cooldown: 30 seconds

Range: 8
Length: 4
Create a rift upon the ground. Enemies standing in the area when the rift is created are stunned for 0.5 seconds, while enemies that stand on the rift after its creation are constantly slowed by 70% for 3 seconds and gain 2 Corruption every second.

Tier 6 (Level 16) Talents

Blackening Soul (E):

When Growing Paranoia expires, the target is Blackened, reducing their Armor by 10 for 5 seconds.
Note: Pulse of Horror applies Blackened to all enemies in the area.

Darkheart Nova:


Active: Cooldown: 8 seconds
30 Mana
Release a burst of nightmare power in a 2 range area around Xavius, dealing 183 (+4% per level) damage to all enemies in the area and increasing their Corruption by 5.

Nightmare Empowerment:


Active: Cooldown: 30 seconds
45 Mana
Range: 10
Engulf an allied Hero with nightmare power, increasing the damage they deal by 15% for 8 seconds.

Tier 7 (Level 20) Talents

Living Nightmare (R1):

Tear of Elune also causes the affected target's damage done to be increased by 15% as long as you control them, and the duration is increased by 2 additional seconds.

Nightmare Comet (R2):

Corruption Meteor lands 0.5 seconds earlier and deals 35% more damage.

Manifest Darkening (D):

Manifest Corruption now summons 2 Corruption Horrors.

Writhing Abyss (1):

Nightmare Tentacles now mirror every ability untalented and with 20% reduced damage you cast on the same targets or, if Fixate is activated, to their determined target. (Nightmare Blades will be cast on the Fixated target and the chosen target furthest from them).
