Nightmare Lord

Former high councilor to Queen Azshara and first of the satyr, Xavius has, throughout history, been considered one of the most powerful entities in the Warcraft universe due to his powerful and extensive knowledge of magic, his transformation into a satyr and his later pact with the Old Gods but When the Burning Legion returned for their 3rd invasion of Azeroth, Xavius started his assault on the druid home of Val'sharah by corrupting the world tree Shaladr***il and its guardians but he was nevertheless vanquished by a group of adventures sent into the Emerald Nightmare and the Rift of Aln by his archnemesis since times old: Malfurion Stormrage.

Xavius is a highly versitile ranged specialist with powerful burst damage but the drawback to this is that he is quite mana hungry and squishy and thus can easily be taken out of harm's way (unless he has his passive up) if ganged up on.
All True form abilities will be altered by your talent choices.

Q: Only some of the talents affect the Nightmare Blades.
W: Has its own effects added by talents.
E: New pets added through talents will be summoned in Writhing Deep with 5% more damage.

Note: Xavius base form uses normal mounts but his true form cannot mount and must remain on foot.

(Many of the stats and talents needs work. Any and all feedback is highly appreciated (except dislikes and salt. you can go somewhere else)

Combat Trait

Emerald Nightmare
His Passive has 2 effects.

1st effect: After being hit by a basic spell, the target will be debuffed with Nightmare Corruption for 3,5 seconds and if the target is hit by another basic spell, that spell will have an addtional effect and receives 30% decreased healing lasting for 5 seconds. The same target can't be hit by passive effect twice within 30 seconds but multiple targets can be effected by the debuff.

2nd effect: After Xavius suffers fatal damage, he will become, for a period of 4 seconds, an untargetable phantom in the appearance of his true form and his abilities will be replaced with his nightmare form abilities. After the 4 seconds have passed he will die normally and his death timer starts. He cannot move in this form. This effect has 3 minutes cooldown.

Primary Abilities

Nightmare Bolt
Xavius fires a medium ranged bolt of darkness, dealing 170(+25 per level) to the first enemy hit.

Cooldown: 7 seconds. Mana cost: 25 Mana.

Nightmare effect: Nightmare Bolt roots the target for 1,2 seconds and deals AoE damage for 50% of the damage.

Festering Rip
Xavius cleaves in a frontal cone, dealing 240(+30 per level) and slowing enemies hit by 30%

Cooldown: 16 seconds. Mana cost: 65 mana

Nightmare Effect: Frontal cone is 30% larger and restores 40% of the damage dealt.

Induced Paranoia
Xavius marks a target and fills its head with thoughts of doubt and fear, causing it to deal 90(+15 per level) to all nearby allies for 3 seconds. Spawns a Nightmare Horror at the end of the duration. Horrors focus and melee hit for 70(+13 per level) on random targets or targets recently hit by one of Xavius other abilities.

Cooldown: 25 seconds. Mana cost: 95 mana.

Nightmare effect: Targets affected are feared and silenced for the duration and 2 Nightmare Horrors spawns at the affected target location. When a Nightmare Horror dies, it leaves a pool that deals the same damage as its basic attack every second over a 5 second period.

Secondary Abilities

Nightmare Blades
Xavius fires a line of Nightmare Blades towards the target that will travel through all targets between and deal 240(+40 per level)

Cooldown: 6 seconds. Mana Cost: 25 Mana.

Nightmare Effect: Targets hit are knocked up and suffer 130(+10 per level) additional damage.

Darkening Soul
Xavius hits a target with a corrupting curse that burns their soul, dealing 360(+60 per level) and causing Xavius basic attacks to deal 40% additional damage to the target.

Cooldown: 30 seconds. Mana cost: 100 mana

Nightmare effect: Spell becomes Blackening Soul instead.

Blackening Soul
Xavius hits a enemy and 2 additional targets with a much more powerful curse that destroys the targets souls from the inside, dealing 400(+80 per level) and for 8 seconds, his basic attacks becomes channeled beams that drains all targets of their souls energy, dealing 70(+10 per level) over a 3 second duration and restores 30% of his Health and mana based on the damage dealt. Targeting only one of the affected targets drains all of the debuffed targets regardless of range.

Writhing Deep
Xavius marks a target area that, after 1,5 seconds delay, explodes for 200(+50 per level) and spawns a Inconciviable Horror that basic attacks for 40% of the of Xavius basic attack damage and occasionally swipes in a cone for 80(+15 per level). When it dies, it explodes for the same damage to all nereby targets.

Cooldown: 35 seconds. Mana cost: 70.

Nightmare effect: Spawns 2 Nightmare Tentacles attacks towards targets hit by the Inconcivable Horror attacks with Mind flay, dealing 60% of its damage over 3 seconds and slows by 20%. (Slow does not stack but damage does.)

Heroic Abilities

Apocalyptic Nightmare
Xavius sends down 5 large bolts of pure corruption in a straight line that will deal 250(+20 per level) damage to all enemies caught in the radius and will burn enemies for 45(+3 per level).
Cooldown: 90 seconds. Mana cost: 150 mana.

Nightmare Embrace
Xavius unleashes his true form and gains new and empowered abilities and your abilities also have 30% longer range. Your spells deal 20% more damage and you gain a damage shield with 750 life(+100 per level). You are also slowed by 50%
Lasts for 8 seconds. Cooldown: 120 seconds. Mana cost: 200 mana.

Talents

Lvl 1
(Q) Nightmare Spread:Quest: Root 10 enemy heros with Nightmare bolts Nightmare Corruption effect. Reward: 2 additional projectiles travels on the sides and half of Nightmare Bolt's range and Nightmare bolt deals 15% more damage. (Affects Nightmare blades).

(E) Corruption Hunger:Quest: Kill 35 minions with Induced Paranoia. Reward: Nightmare Horrors spawned from Induced Paranoia now also cast Nightmare Maw on their targets, dealing 50(+10 per level) to their target every 5 sec and reduces the damage they deal by 20% for 2 sec.

Arcane Font Crystal:Quest: Collect 25 Regen globes. Every Regen globe that Xavius gets/collects adds an additional 70 mana to his Manabar. 40% of the amount gained is lost on death. Reward: No longer loses Mana gained upon death and gains an additional 230 mana aswell.

Nightmare Thorns Every successful Nightmare effect proc grants a charge of Block, reducing the damage of the next basic attack by 30% and reflects 25% of the damage done to you. Can store up to 2 charges and lasts for 7 seconds.

Lvl 4
(W) Dark Heart: Enemies hit in the middle of your Rip, they are slowed by 50% instead.

(E) Nightmare Ravager: Induced paranoia now spawns a Nightmare Ravager which melee hits for 120(+30 per level) and casts Dark Thrash towards your target every 4th basic attack, dealing 100(+7/lvl) damage in a circle around the target.

(D)Festering Darkness: Nightmare Corruption Effect now also reduces Resource regen by 60% on its target.

Lvl 7
(Q) Nightterror: Enemies hit by Passive enhanced Nightmare bolt becomes feared instead of rooted. (Nightmare blades enhanced effect stuns the target instead of knocking them up.)

(D) But a mere shadow of my true power: For each time you damage a enemy hero in your phantom form, your respawn timer will be reduced by 1 second(+0,2 seconds every third level)

(E) Dark WardenQuest: Damage atleast 2 enemy heroes with Induced Paranoia AoE damage from another hero 10 times. Reward: Summon a Corrupted Green dragon instead of an Inconciviable Horror which cast Corrupted breath which hits all targets in a narrow line for 100(+20 per level) and causes enemies hit to heal the attacker for 30% of the damage done. lasts for 5 seconds. (Effects Writhing Deep)

(W) Mana Siphon Passive enhanced Rip now restores mana for the same amount. (BS functions in same way but for all targets drained by basic attacks gives 4% of your maximum mana every second your drain remains on the targets.)

Lvl 13
(Q) Corrupted Meteor: Nightmare Bolt becomes a targeted ability instead of a skillshot. (If Nightmare Spread is also chosen, two additional meteor lands on the sides of the big one.) (Does not effect Nightmare blades but grants a 10% damage increase to player effected with Writhing Deep.)

(D) Eternal Darkness: Nightmare Corruption debuff lasts 3 seconds longer.

(W) Rip and Tear: Festering Rip can be cast twice within a 5 second period of the first cast.(Darkening and Blackening Soul can not be cast twice and instead Xavius gains 20% movement speed when the effect is on his targets.)

Lvl 16
Darkshield: Activate to gain a health shield based upon 15% of your max health for 4 seconds or until depleted.

(W)Dark Claws: Basic attacks against enemies hit by Rip gives Xavius 30% additional attack speed and damage to his basic attacks but his basic attacks becomes melee instead of ranged. (Ds/BS remain unchanged.)

(E)Lord of the Satyr: Induced Paranoia will now spawn 2 Corrupted Satyr which replaces Nightmare Horrors and casts Dark Bolt Volley, dealing 120(+30 per level) to all enemies within 10 yards of the Target.

Nightmare Ripple: Activate to increase your movement speed and mana regeneration by 70% and 20% respectively for 5 second. Cooldown: 90 seconds.

Lvl 20
(R1) All-Consuming Darkness: Apocalyptic Nightmare gains a Nightmare effect: Targets hit creates patches of nightmare fire at their feet, dealing half of the ability damage to all enimies that stand in them and causes enemy heroes to have their sight range lowered by 80%.

(R2) Rift of Aln: Nightmare embrace now lasts 5 seconds more and abilities use 20% less mana. You are also only slowed down by 30% instead of 50%.

Corrupted Drop of Eternity: Activate to gain 30% ability damage and abilities takes no mana for 7 seconds. Cooldown: 60 seconds

(D) Echo of Darkness: Can now enter Phantom form every 1,5 min instead of every 3 minutes.

Skins

Dark Ruiner Xavius
Lore: "After many tirals in the Nexus, Xavius finally managed to bridge The Nexus to the Emerald Nightmare and made a breach great enough for his master N'zoth to seep his darkness into the realm. For this atrocity, Xavius was granted a boon from his dark master: A set of armor, briming with void power, crafted from the flesh and carapace from his fallen breathren, C'thun and Yogg-Saron.He also recieved a necklace containing a portion of the strongest Old God power: Y'shaarj. Armed with new power and armament, N'zoth gave Xavius a new task: Create a ripple great enough not just for his corruption and minions but himself aswell."

Design: Xavius normal red aura and particles have a tint of dark purple void energy added to it aswell. His Shade form possesses a combination of C'thun eyes and coiled tentacles around his arms. His lower body has Yogg-Saron maws surrounding the diffrent pieces of armor. He also posseses a necklace that has a ebon chain with a dark void crystal in the center containing the last blood drop of Y'shaarj. His true form has the same features but also has Sha like black and white effects on him and the other armor pieces become greater and more active.

High Councillor Xavius
Lore:"After starting the Burning Legions invasion of Azeroth, Xavius started to open many more portals to bolster the demonic forces invading but his reckless usage of portals caused a rift within his study, sending him to the Nexus. He must now search for a way back so he can save his queen and his demonic overlord Sargeras"

Effects: His abilities gain a more arcanic apperance.
Q: Nightmare bolt looks like a ball of arcane energy.
w: Rip uses a arcane sword illusion instead.
E: Induced Paranoia looks like a arcane rune and adds will be changed with different versions of arcane and demon beings(Applies to his Empowered E as well).
(Nightmare Horror = Arcane Elemental)

Nightmare Embrace looks like his first satyr form but more demonic with fel pouring out of him and demonic wings. All ablities look almost the same as normal but has fel color and his Q and E has Legion like textures.

Apocalyptic Nightmare looks like large arcane meteors.

His passive looks like an arcane cloud below his corpse and his phantom form looks like his skins base form but larger and arcane transparent.

I am so glad i decided on the moniker Nightmare Lord and not Darkness Incarnate. Thats a lawsuit just waiting to happen. Gul'dan paying that price now.
Let have quick recap of the stages of my life so far: I have been a Elf, I have been Satyr filled with Fel then I was a tree filled with the old gods powers and now I am a Satyr filled with old god power. What a roundabout life i have had.
Does the nails in my feet hurt? Not as much as the on in my tongue! Seriously. Why do kids do this?
I have to admit i was quite smitten with Queen Azshara when I was her advisor but Varo'then kept threating me about how she was his and nobody elses. What a fool. I could have destroyed him with one hand tied behind my back even back then.
What's it like working for the Void lords and the Old Gods? All things considered, not terrible but not great. I mean, you get to meet alot of new people but all of them are obsessed about the end of the world. Like geez, i want the end too but i don't go around shouting it at the top of my lungs.

Playstyle and Potential Builds.

AoE Lane Pusher Build


Mixes Rip and Induced Paranoia talents to help push up minion waves and towers.

1: Corruption Hunger. Reason: Grants Nightmare Horrors a nice damage increase and neglects the enemy from producing substasial damage.
2: Nightmare Ravager. Reason: Gives a nice AoE pet to combo with Rip to clear waves and to multi-damage towers faster.
3: Mana Siphon. Reason: Mana regen is always welcome within a Xavius build due to his high costs and low mana regen.
4: Apocalyptic Nightmare. Reason: Gives alot more AoE and solid damage potenital
5: Rip and Tear. Reason: This, combined with Mana Siphon gives not only more wave clear but also more mana regen.
6: Lord of the Satyr. Reason: Gives stronger pets which have stronger ranged abilities.
7: All-consuming Darkness. Reason: Produces large pools of damage under blast zones for more AoE damage and the bilnd effect allows him to set up combos on unexpecting foes.


Team Destruction Build


More focused on a Assassin style of play, this build is more focused on damage and bypassing the mana issues with the characters.
