Xul Rework

Necromancer

Xul is in an OK spot for me, but I've taken a bit closer look at his abilities, and I can see Xul has s much potential to be good at countering dive heroes. There are some stuff I like in him like his Q and its talent, but I sill think Xul needs a bit of improvement.

Goals of this rework


  • Put more emphasis on making Xul a good counter to dive
  • Add more interesting talents to Xul's talent pool
  • Improve some of his numbers and rework Bone Prison

Combat Trait

[D] Raise Skeletons
Whenever an enemy minion dies, it becomes a Skeletal Warior with 225 (+4% per level) Health that attacks for 21 (+4% per level) damage and lasts for 15 seconds. Up to 4 Skeletal Warriors can be active at once.

Primary Abilities

[Q] Spectral Scythe
Mana: 55
Cooldown: 8 seconds

Summon a Scythe that returns to Xul after 1 second, dealing 247 (+4% per level) damage to enemies.

[W] Cursed Strikes
Mana: 50
Cooldown: 16 seconds

Xul's Basic Attacks deal damage in a wide area and reduce the Attack Speed of enemy Heroes and Summons by 40% for 3 seconds. Lasts 4 seconds once triggered.

[E] Bone Prison
Mana: 75
Cooldown: 10 seconds

Mark an enemy Hero for 2 seconds. After 2 seconds or casting this ability earlier, deal 71 (+4% per level) damage to that Hero and root them for up to 2 seconds, depending on how long your target was marked.

Cooldown: 30 seconds

Activate to gain a Shield equal to 25% of your maximum Health for 4 seconds.

Cooldown: 12 seconds

Deal 230 (+4% per level) damage to all enemies in a line.

Heroic Abilities

[R1] Poison Nova
Mana: 100
Cooldown: 100 seconds

After 0.5 seconds, unleash a barrage of poisonous missiles that deal 570 (+4% per level) damage to all enemy Heroes hit over 10 seconds and reduce their damage they deal by 20% for 10 seconds.

[R2] Skeletal Mages
Mana: 80
Cooldown: 90 seconds

Vector Targeting
Summon 4 Frost Mages in a line that attack nearby enemies for 50 (+4% per level) damage and slow them by 30% for 2 seconds. The Mages last for up to 15 seconds.

Talents

Level 1




[1]Backlash
When Bone Armor breaks or expires, it deals damage to all nearby enemy Heroes equal to 10% of their maximum Health.

[1]Shackler
While Bone Armor is active, nearby enemies are slowed by 35% for 1 second. Basic Attacks against slowed, rooted and stunned Heroes reduce the cooldown of Bone Armor by 2 seconds.

[1]Shade
Increases the cooldown of Bone Armor by 15 seconds, but it now allows Xul to evade all basic atacks.

[1]Regrowth
Quest: Collecting Regeneration Globes increases the shield value of Bone Armor by 0.5% of your maximum Health, up to 15%.

Level 4





[Q]Reaper's Toll
Quest: Hit 20 Heroes with Spectral Scythe.
Reward: Reduce the cooldown of Spectral Scythe by 3 seconds.

[D]Jailors
Bone Prison now summons two Skeletal Warriors that don't count towards Xul's Raise Skeleton maximum and fixate on the target.
Quest: Summon 80 Skeletal Warriors.
Reward: Bone Prison now causes all Skeletal Warriors to fixate on the target, and they gain 50% Movement and Attack Speed when doing so.

[E]Crippling Bones
Increases the damage of Bone Prison by 70% if the mark lasted for at least 1.25 seconds.

Level 7





[W]Harvest Vitality
Cursed Strikes now heals for 10% of the damage dealt, increased to 60% when damaging enemy Heroes.

[W]Weaken
Increases the Attack Speed reduction by 40%.

[D]Trag'Oul's Essence
Every time you summon a skeleton, restore 1% of Xul's maximum Health and Mana.

Level 13





[Q]Echoes of Death
Spectral Scythe spawns two aditional scythes next to the first after 1.5 seconds, dealing 60% damage.

[Passive]Executioner
Attacking a slowed, stunned or rooted Hero increases Xul's Basic Attack damage by 30% for 3 seconds.

[W]Soul Punishment
Attacking enemy Heroes with Cursed Strikes silences them for 0.75 seconds and increases the cooldown of their abilities that are on cooldown by 0.75 seconds.

Level 16




[2]Bone Spear
Activate to deal 230 (+4% per level) damage to all enemies in a line.

[E]Exhausted Organs
Bone Prison now marks all enemy Heroes near your primary target.

[W]Grim Fate
Cursed Strikes now reduce Armor of all enemy Heroes hit by 15 for 2 seconds, increasing damage they take by 15%.

[D]Corpse Explosion
When Skeletal Warriors die, they explode for 55 (4% per level) damage to nearby enemies. The damage is increased by 100% against non-Heroic enemies.

Level 20





[R1]Andariel's Visage
Poison Nova now heals Xul for 50% of the damage dealt.
Passive: Skeletal Warriors deal 50% increased damage.

[R2]Cold Hand of Death
Increases the slow amount and damage of Frost Mages by 20%.
Passive: Skeletal Warrior attacks slow enemies by 30% for 2 seconds.

[Q]Mortal Wound
Enemies hit by Spectral Scythe receive 75% reduced healing for 4 seconds.

[1]Bone Storm
Increases the cooldown of Bone Armor to 70 seconds, but now it applies Bone Armor to all friendly Heroes within a large area.
