Yogg-Saron

God of Death

Yogg-Saron is a Specialist that cannot die, as he has no body on the Nexus. As the Old God of Death, you are everywhere and is slowly driving everyone into insanity. Your whispers blind your foes and your thoughts summon incarnations of madness.

The God of Death uses his neverending army of minions and his dark whispers to annihilate his enemies, wherever they are. However, if you are fighting against Yogg-Saron, killing his minions greatly reduces his power and grants Experience to your team.

Lore:
"One of the greatly malevolent and ancient entities known only as Old Gods, Yogg-Saron held chaotic tyranny over the world of Azeroth in the very distant past, and was responsible for the creation of the Curse of Flesh to "facilitate assimilation" of the Titans' creations. When the Titans waged war against the Old Gods and shattered their citadels, they found that the infestation of the entities had grown so severe that destroying the Old Gods would also lead to the annihilation of Azeroth. Instead, the Pantheon took measures to neutralize the Old Gods' power and bind them within Azeroth for the remainder of its existence. Yogg-Saron was sealed away within the depths of Ulduar in the far northern reaches of the infant world, and had six watchers assigned to it which served as wardens for its near eternal imprisonment; the Titanic watchers known as Loken, Thorim, Hodir, Tyr, Mimiron and Freya."

Combat Trait

1
Madness
Instead of Mana, Yogg-Saron uses Madness as a resource. Whenever a basic ability deals damage you gain 1 Madness.

Your presence is spread all over the battlefield instead of into a physical body. Your abilities have global range.

Primary Abilities

1
Faceless Warriors
Cooldown: 10 seconds

Passive: Whenever a wave of minions spawns for your team a Faceless Warrior is summoned with it.

Active: Dominate the Faceless Warrior mind, gaining new abilities while you control it.

Faceless Warrior's Abilities:

Q - Dark Flames: Create a dark beam in front of you that deals 170 damage.
Cooldown: 6 seconds

W - Terrify: Deal 40 damage to enemies around you and slow them by 35% for 2 seconds.
Cooldown: 4 seconds

E - Consume: After a 2 second delay, destroy the Faceless Warrior. If the Faceless Warrior dies without being consumed, all Madness generated by using him is lost.
2
Dark Mist
Cooldown: 18 seconds
Cost: 5 Madness

Create a mist around an Enemy Hero that completely blocks his Minimap and reduces his movement speed by 15% for 6 seconds.
3
Saronite Wall
Cooldown: 18 Seconds
Cost: 5 Madness

After a 0.75 second delay, create an impassable wall for 3 seconds. The wall can be destroyed and have 600 Health.

Heroic Abilities

1
Hope's End
Cooldown: 180 seconds
Cost: ALL your current Madness

Create a giant pool of hatred for 8 seconds that slows enemies by 35% while inside it. Eight tentacles are created around the pool that deals damage to enemies inside the pool based on the amount of Madness spent on this ability.

Give in to your fear

With global presence and an extremely powerful Heroic Ability, Yogg-Saron is a unique Hero with the primary objective of gradatively grinding your enemies and crushing their hope when they most need it. Being everywhere is his biggest strength, but it is also his big weakness. If the enemy Heroes don't let Yogg-Saron consume a Faceless Warrior after acumulating Madness your effectiveness is severely harmed.

Yogg-Saron only has access to one Heroic Ability, but it's a rather powerful one. The idea was to provide a moment that truly ressembles the power of an Old God, specially useful for map objectives and such. However, at Level 20 you may choose from 3 different upgrades for Hope's End.

Level 20 Talents:

Insanity: Illusions of your allied Heroes are created to fight against your enemies. They deal 90% less damage than the original Heroes and have 100% of their maximun Health.

Overwhelming Whispers: Create a spectral tentacle at the middle of the pool of hatred that casts random abilities from any basic ability in the game.

Thousand Maws: Yogg-Saron emerges from the dark on the last second of Hope's End, instanly devouring and killing all enemies inside the pool of hatred.
