I designed Zenyatta as a support who must strike a balance between his offensive and defensive capabilities, drawing from a limited pool of Orbs that allow him to use his abilities, but also empower his Auto-Attack and Damage/CC ability. Theoretically, Zenyatta could (talented) have his Orbs of Harmony and Discord out on every enemy and allied hero, but this would dramatically lower his damage output in exchange for that utility.

Overall, Zenyatta's strengths are Sustained Healing and Utility. His Orb Volley is a potentially powerful tool in ganks, as it can offer a sequence of crippling mini-stuns that would prevent/interrupt many movement and other abilities. Additionally, his Orb of Discord can lower enemy armor, but can be shaken off by leaving Zenyatta's vision range - making him useful at zoning targets away from static points. Zenyatta can be an effective duelist, as in a 1 on 1 his orbs will boost his damage while still granting him high sustain and lowering his enemy's armor. That said he lacks any meaningful finishers, so will not have the kill potential of, say, Karazim.

Orbs of Balance
Zenyatta does not use mana. Instead, all of his basic abilities draw from a finite number of Orbs which are visually represented in a floating ring around him. By default, Zenyatta has 8 Orbs with an additional 9th Orb visually rotating around him but held in reserve for his auto-attack.

The more orbs available to Zenyatta (EG: not in use by basic abilities) the faster his auto-attack speed. Each orb grants 10% attack speed, up to an 80% bonus. Zenyatta can activate his trait to recall all active orbs.

If no orbs are available, Zenyatta's basic abilities cannot be used. Mounting removes active orbs automatically, but does not place trait on CD.

Cooldown: 15 Seconds

Primary Abilities

Orb Volley
After channeling, Zenyatta launches up to 4 Orbs in rapid fire at a target within a range of 3 units. Each orb deals 60 damage to the target.

Zenyatta *must* channel for at least .5 seconds and *can* channel up to 1.5 seconds. Each .1 Second adds 1 damage (up to 15). All damage scales at 4%. If Zenyatta completes the channel, each orb stuns his target for .1 seconds.

There is a .3 second delay between orb impacts.

The Orbs used for this ability are rendered Inactive for a total of 4 seconds.

Orb of Harmony
Zenyatta places 1 Orb on an ally in vision range. If the ally leaves Zenyatta's vision range, the orb returns after 2 seconds.

While active, the Orb heals the ally for 5% of their Maximum Health in a single tick once every 2 seconds.

There is no limit to how many Orbs of Harmony Zenyatta can have active at once, but only one can be active on a given hero at once.

Orb of Discord
Zenyatta places 1 Orb on an enemy in vision range. If the enemy leaves Zenyatta's vision range, the Orb returns after 1 second.

While active, the Orb reduces the enemy's armor by 10.

There is no limit to how many Orbs of Discord Zenyatta can have active at once, but only one can be active on a given hero at once.

Heroic Abilities

Transcendence
Zenyatta's Heroic ability has no cooldown, but instead gains charges. Anytime Zenyatta's orbs damage an enemy (includes AAs) or heal an ally, his ultimate gains .5% charge.

When Activated, Zenyatta gains 50 Armor and is rooted in place. He heals all allies within a range of 4 units by 10% of their Maximum Health over 3 seconds.

Healing is delivered in 5 ticks each tick consumes 20% of the charge of the ability. Zenyatta cannot cancel the ability prematurely but it can be canceled by stuns or silences.

Stun Heroes with Orb Volley

After 10 Seconds of Stun, each successive orb deals 10% increased damage

After 20 Seconds of Stun, each successive orb stuns for .1 second longer.


Guru of Harmony

Each active Orb of Harmony increases Zenyatta's Vision Range by 10%.


Guru of Discord

Each active Orb of Discord increases Zenyatta's Attack Damage by 10%.

Level 4:



Mondatta's Gift

(OBJECTIVE:)

Maintain Active Orbs - each Orb active counts separately to duration

(REWARD:)

After 300 Seconds, maximum number of Orbs is Increased by 2

Orbs of Swiftness

Zenyatta gains 10% increased movement speed for each inactive orb, to a maximum of 40%.

Eye of the Shambali

Zenyatta's AAs reveal enemy heroes for 3 seconds. This is considered vision for the purpose of Orb of Discord

Level 7:



Call of the Iris

When Zenyatta activates his Trait, he gains 2 total charges of Orb of Discord and Orb of Harmony

Master's Honor

Removing Orbs of Harmony grants 1 second of Unstoppable

Foolish Pupils

Zenyatta's AAs do 100% increased damage to Non-Heroic targets

Level 10:



Enter the Iris

While Transcendence is Active, heroes effected by Orb of Discord are slowed by 30%

Tranquil Waters

While Transcendence is Active, heroes effected by Orb of Harmony gain 10 armor

Level 13:



Omnic Plating

Zenyatta gains 5 armor for each inactive Orb, to a maximum of 20.

Sacred Rhythms

Zenyatta gains a shield for 5% of his Maximum Health for each Orb of Orb Volley that hits its target. Lasts 2 seconds.

Meditative Trance

Zenyatta can cast Orb of Discord and Orb of Harmony from mount, and mounting no longer removes active orbs. Zenyatta cannot be dismounted by damage, but can still be dismounted by stuns.

Level 16:





When Zenyatta activates his Trait, he deals 150 damage to enemies with an active Orb of Discord and heals 250 health to enemies with an active Orb of Harmony

Shadow of Doubt

Orb of Discord can now be stacked up to 3 times on one target.

Spear of Truth

Orb Volley now pierces on its way to target. Pierced targets are damaged but not stunned.

Level 20:



Pursuit of Enlightenment

Zenyatta's AAs charge Transcendence twice as fast

Walk in Harmony

Activating Zenyatta's trait shields all allies for 5% of their Maximum Life for each Orb removed, to a maximum of 30%

Prayer Beads

Orb Volley gains an additional Orb at the start which does not come from Zenyatta's total Orb Count.

Bodhisattva

Zenyatta cannot be Rooted, Silenced, or Slowed
