This Thread is for all my STRANGE specialists with NEW MECHANICS...
So I am a guy who has a lot of hero ideas, and even though they might never be added I'd like to share them and have some honest opinions from other HotS players.
Larry the Larva will be a unique hero utilizing the Zerg's ability to evolve on the battlefield.
He will also be extremely squishy like Murky, if not squishier.
Stats for Larva:
- Low Health
- Low Damage
- High HP regen
- High Speed
- Will use DNA instead of mana. DNA is obtained by being near enemies that die. Max. 100DNA
Abilities:
Passive:Parasitic Reproduction
Larry uses DNA instead of mana, DNA is obtained by being close to units when they die.
Minions - 5 DNA
Heroes - 15 DNA
If Larry has above 50 DNA and is killed he will split into 2 Larry. Each Larva can be controlled individually and the player can activate his/her passive by pressing D to select all current larva. Larva amounts are limited by the number of Spawn More Overlords! overlords
If an overlord is killed, the 2 most recently spawned larva will die.
Max. 2 Larva/Zerg unit per overlord
Notes: Larry uses a different resource like Sonya, and in addition he has quite an interesting ability to split into 2 more when he dies, allowing him to build his army. Larry will have lower damage than other heroes, even on his abilities. This lowered damage is just to prevent him from being absolutely overpowered. Also keep in mind it will not be that easy to split into a huge group fast, as you will have to gather DNA - Die - Escape with 2 larva and repeat...
Ability 1:Spawn More Overlords! DNA Cost - 25
The selected Larry will evolve into an overlord after a short channel time, gaining increased vision and high health, but losing half of his speed and damage.
Overlords will allow for 2 more larva and will not count toward the larva count.
Overlords will also grant 1(+1 per Larry) DNA per second to all other Larry
If the selected Larry has above 50 DNA, it is consumed and he will evolve into a Overseer instead, being able to move at normal speed and see even farther.
Ability 2:Zerg Rush DNA Cost - 50
The Selected Larry transforms into a small group of Zerglings (that are controlled together as one unit)after a short channel time.
gaining high attack speed, higher damage and low HP regen
If the selected Larry has above 50 DNA, it is consumed and roachlings are spawned instead that have slightly more Health and HP regen
Ability 3:Baneling Bust DNA Cost - 50
The selected Larry transforms into a large Baneling after a short channel time and launches toward the target area, dealing high damage and greatly increased damage to structures. When this happens the Larva will die, not be able to split but will give all other Larva +5 DNA for each target hit.
If the selected Larry has more than 50 DNA he will leave a pool of acid on his point of impact after launching dealing 50% damage over time.
Heroic Abilities
Morph Spawning Pool DNA Cost - 25
The Selected Larry transforms into a spawning pool. The spawning pool will automatically generate a third Larva every time one dies. Lasts 30/60 seconds (not sure yet)
Biological Fortifications DNA Cost - 25
The selected Larry can be sacrificed to heal the target building fully over a long time and giving it increased damage. The building gains a living shield while it is being healed, if the shield is broken the healing will cease. While the building is fortified it will also regenerate ammo twice as fast.

I've experienced HotS as one of the most creative Moba like games when it comes to their heroes. I love the idea of murky, vikings and abathur and with a few hours put into starcraft I personally would love to see/test Larry.
Okay at first I thought "this sounds a bit OP"... but then I realised that Larry is being limited a lot by his DNA system. He needs to be near for 10 creep deaths before he can split, and he is only really strong when he has a army of Larry.
The idea is basically to create your own Zerg army on the map, being able to contribute to teamfights with your huge AOE damage banelings, chase down heroes with your zerg rush and act as a support providing vision by hiding overlords in critical spots across the map. Larry also has the ability to provide defence with his biological fortifications, or an endless wave of Larry with his spawning pool.
This hero will require quite a lot of skill to play optimally but if a player masters him he will be devastating.
Please Note : Larry and his summons will have quite low stats and not be so hard to kill, but Larry will also only grant xp if he has below 50 DNA and is unable to split, and will still only provide half the XP the enemy would get for the kill
Noggrin Onetooth

World of Warcraft Specialist
- Ranged - (throws fireballs)
Stats for Noggrin Onetooth:
- Low Health
- AverageDamage
- Above average HP regen
- Above average Speed
Noggrin can dig from his current location to the target location within the SHORT RANGE, knocking all enemies up that he passes under.
-Range is very short when in Dim mode-
Passive:"No Take Candle."
Cooldown - 10s
Noggrin can control his candle and set it between 2 modes.
Dim mode : Noggrin has reduced vision but gains the ability to be invisible when out of combat, basic attacks are melee (pickaxe) in this mode and they will stun enemies for a very short duration
-Does decrease cooldown of mount-
Bright mode: Noggrin has increased vision and gains range on all his abilities. Basic attacks are ranged (fireball) in this mode and they will set enemies ablaze for low damage over time.
-Does increase range of mount-
Notes: Noggrin is supposed to be as annoying as possible, either stunning enemies over and over or poking them from a far range.
Ability 1:Geomancer Cost - 20 mana Cooldown - 1.5s
Noggrin stomps on the ground below him causing a shockwave to travel from his position.
Dim Mode - Shockwaves knock enemies up for a short duration and then slow them by 5% (stacks)
Bright Mode - Shockwaves deals very low damage to enemies in a HUGE range (almost global) and make them vulnerable to the next shockwave increasing its damage by 5% (stacks)
- THIS ABILITY CANNOT DISABLE SOMEONE TAKING AN OBJECTIVE-
Notes: Deals VERY low damage, just an annoying poke that will end up hurting you a lot over time.
Ability 2:Fireball Cost - 40 mana Cooldown - 9s
Noggrin channels and creates a fireball.
Dim Mode - Charging up the fireball increases the range, max. charge causes the fireball to explode and damage in a large AOE
Bright Mode - Charging up the fireball increases damage, max. charge fireball causes enemies to be blinded missing there next attacks.
Ability 3:Flaming Earthquake! Cost - 30 mana Cooldown - N/A
This ability is usable every time an enemy has been knocked up/set on fire by Noggrin.
When activated this ability causes all the enemies that are knocked up to create minor earthquakes when they land, stunning them and all enemies near them for a very short duration(the stun duration stacks based on the amount of enemies earthquaked near eachother ,
and causes the ground under all enemies that have been set on fire by Noggrin to explode creating a small pool of magma at their feet dealing damage per second to enemies within the magma.
Heroic Abilities
Summon the tribe! Cost - 100 mana Cooldown - 10s
Summon a Kobold that rushes into the nearest lane that starts mining away at the enemy structures, lasting quite a while. Starts out with low damage and attackspeed but decent hp. As the Kobold's health lowers they go into a frenzy attacking much faster and for higher damage
More Candle Cost - 50 mana Cooldown - 10s
-Can have 5 stacks of this ability-
Noggrin places an enchanted candle, this candle grants vision and explodes when enemies come near. Candles work similar to abathur's mines with increased damage.

Malthael

Diablo - Reaper of Souls Assassin Melee
Stats for Maltheal:
-Same as most assassins with lower health)
Abilities:
Trait:
Reaper of Souls Malthael passively collects the souls of those that die near him, each soul grants a stacking basic attack bonus.
Malthael's abilities will cost HEALTH not MANA
Ability 1:
Sweeping Scythe Malthael sweeps his scythes in a cone in the area in front of him dealing damage, if the enemy is below 50% hp he will sweep a second time dealing reduced damage and slowing them heavily for a short duration.
Ability 2:
The Death Mist Malthael disappears in a cloud of mist and reappears at his target location while spinning and hitting nearby enemies with his scythes and marking targets below 50% hp for death. The ability can be reactivated within a few seconds to teleport to the closest marked target.
Ability 3:
Soul Drain Malthael can activate this ability at any time, dealing damage to him and enemies around him. Damage dealt will heal Malthael for half the amount. Enemies below 50% hp will grant more healing for damage dealt.
Heroic 1:
Last Breath Malthael can activate this ability to release his souls, they will then seek out the lowest health enemy dealing damage based on the amount of souls.
Heroic 2:
Execution Malthael can target an enemy, charging them from a short distance and performing an executing blow dealing high damage and instantly killing them if they are below a certain amount of health. If he does execute the enemy he can reactivate to absorb their soul healing for a small amount of their max health.

Rory rides in a mechanical - marauder like (from sc2) - suit.
Stats for Rory:

Abilities:
Trait:
Armour Overload Rory can activate to gain a shield based on his current amount of mana. While this shield is active he will take reduced damage but move slower. Shield is equal to ? x his current mana.
Ability 1:
Cybernetic Grip Rory grabs an enemy and can reactivate the ability to throw them a short distance in the target direction. If the thrown targets hits another enemy, both will be stunned.
Ability 2:
Overdrive Rory puts his suit into overdrive, he can then move normally using his mouse. If he moves he will leap a short distance towards the cursor, stunning enemies in a small AOE around the impact area. He is able to leap the short distance 3 times.
Ability 3:
Cover me! Rory can channel this ability at any time to create a shield over an ally that will redirect a % of damage taken to Rory instead.
Heroic 1:
Flaming Betty Rory constructs Flaming Betty, Betty acts like tychus' mining drill but deals lower AOE damage, melting enemy armor causing enemies to be vulnerable and take % increased damage for every second they are in the flames
Heroic 2:
Front Lines Rory charges forward, grabbing all enemies he hits and after a few seconds of charging he drops them all on the same spot in front of him. The ability is cancelled early if he hits the wall. If he does hit a wall all enemies grabbed will be stunned.
