We have a new name, its HeroesFire! We felt since Blizzard has openly stated they prefer Heroes over HOTS, so do we. And of course along with it is a shiny new logo.
You will still see "HotS" around the site referring to Heroes of the Storm and it does appear the debate is still going in the community over what to call it, but we wanted to get behind Blizzard with the community name.
All your existing links, bookmarks etc should still work but you might want to update them anyway.
For fun I tossed a short poll into this post *found another bug :D
I actually prefer StormFire as well. Granted, any option is better than HotsFire... HotSFire sounds pretty ridiculous, and a MOBA being called HotS is a bit...
EDIT: Eww, yucky avatar.
EDIT: K, no more yucky avatar.
Heroes is already a franchise, Heroes of Might and Magic. And surprisingly, it still has a rather large fanbase that adhere to it.
Smite was the first serious Moba to not be called by it's acronym: DotA, HoN, LoL, etc. Dawngate followed suit with Smite.
At the same time, Heroes of the Storm is too long to call a game, whereas Dawngate and Smite flow smoothly.
I think HotS is the easiest way, as someone would know to google "HotS" to figure out what we mean (if they're new, obviously), but someone who sees us talking about "Heroes" sounds too vague and noninformative.
Plus, I like the sounds of HotS, just like LoL and HoN and DotA have a nice smooth acronym sound (although acronyms are by definition only when you read the letters, but that's irrelevant)
HeroesFire is the place to find the perfect build guide to take your game to the next level. Learn how to play a new hero, or fine tune your favorite HotS hero’s build and strategy.
