Greymane has continued to evolve throughout the meta as one of the most versatile and reliable assassin picks in the game. This guide features builds that I've been able to have the most success with throughout the myriad of drafts and situations that the game may throw at you. As always, my guides are only suggestions as to how you can play Greymane. It may work for you, it may not. Enjoy!

While evolving my own Greymane gameplay, I've found this build to be my personal favorite ever since the cocktail changes. This build allows for phenomenal utility in his ranged form, and rewards a high skill ceiling of gameplay with some reliable ranged poke and consistent damage. His melee form serves as gap closer, escape, and execution opportunity in certain situations.

Success with this build comes from understanding fundamental AA hero stutter stepping, positioning, and kiting.

For posterity, I've also included the full ranged build centered around Greymane's human form Auto Attacks. Since the downward numbers-tune a few patches ago, there's not a lot of value in this build, but good ranged AA players can still make decent use of it.

This build is INCREDIBLY situational and not always a great choice, but when you're running a "protect the Greymane" comp, this build is intense as hell. Relentless Predator build emphasizes the power of Greymane's Worgen form, while trading out some of the utility you gain from human form.

If you're able to max out Wizened Duelist stacks and play super aggressively with your team, things can turn into a slaughter. By level 20, the splash damage from Tooth and Claw on your melee attacks will literally punish anyone and anything that tries to stop you. But be warned, this build is very high risk/high reward. If you're not able to stay alive and play alongside your team, you will see little to no value from this build.
