Thanks for the links! As far as tracking stats, we use a TrueSkill type of system (think Xbox Live) to keep track of the various statistics. Now, I'm not *too* familiar with the internal workings there, but I'm going to forward this and have it looked at for any discrepancies (or to give you a better explanation than I can)!
