TLDR: grab the lvl 1&4 Valorous Brand talents. lvl 7 talent should be "Holy Fervor" but is up to you, lvl 10 talent should be "Angelic Armaments" but is up to you, lvl 13 should be "Divine Rage" but can be "Heat Of Battle", lvl 16 should be "Sovereign Armour" but is up to you, lvl 20 is up to you.
Play aggressively against enemy heros and always follow up an ability hit with an auto attack, number of "Valorous Brand" stacks do not matter in most cases. level 4 is when Imperius begins to shine.
Imperius auto attack build, his most common build
This cluster of chapters focuses on Imperius's "auto attack carry build" as shown above, does not acknowledge other talents that do not synergize with this particular build.
This guide also assumes you are around "gold skill level" and acknowledge your role as a bruiser, not a tank.
Passive, Valorous Brand: when you hit an enemy hero with a basic ability apply "Valorous Brand" for ten seconds, auto attacking a hero with "Valorous Brand" will remove all "Valorous Brand" charges and deal 30% extra
attack damage per charge on the enemy hero.
1. You can only have a maximum of three "Valorous Brand" charge on an enemy hero, each stack is unique to the ability cast and will have it's own expiration timer. This means if Imperius hits an enemy multiple times with the "Molten Armor" ability it will only apply one stack and refresh that specific charge's timer instead of inflicting multiple charges of "Valorous Brand"
for further understanding, if Imperius hits his "Celestial Charge" the enemy hero will have a single "Celestial Charge", Charge of "Valorous Brand", five seconds later Imperius casts "Solarian's Fire" and it hits the enemy hero, the enemy now has a second charge of "Valorous Brand", Imperius now waits 5 seconds, and the "Celestial Charge"'s charge of "Valorous Brand" goes away because it has expired.
2. "Burn The Impure" talent does additional spell damage for % maximum health which cannot be decreased by armour, block and spell shields.
3. "Valorous Brand" can be blocked as it is an auto attack modifier.
Q, 10 sec CD "Celestial Charge" Imperius does short windup that leads into a stab, stuns all heros hit for one entire second, applies a "Valorous Brand" charge.
1. does irrelevant damage on initial hit, stuns all heros hit for a second, on stun end all heros take larger but still irrelevant damage.
2. can be used to go over walls
3. can activate "Molten Armour" while enemy is stunned.
4. do not use on minions, the ability does 77 damage at level 20, at 20 mage minions have 550hp, just don't.
5. variable distance, can be used as a "ranged attack" where imperius takes a lunge forwards and stabs or a melee attack where imperius does not take a step and stabs directly in front of himself.
W, 6 sec CD "Solarian's Fire" Imperius fires a wave that does low-moderate damage to all targets, if the middle of the wave hits an enemy it will do bonus damage, applies a charge of "Valorous Brand"
