The Nightmare is Real Top
You know when you're having a nightmare and you're running from something and you just can't seem to run away? You're paralyzed with fear and in this particular nightmare you're running from a big *** spooky skeleman with a giant mace, also he's on fire and you can't kill him. Yeah, that's this build. A unique Leoric build that focuses on big damage and impressive CC with less popular talents that I have found to be very effective and very fun. Time 2 get spooky.
Talents Top
Most of these talents are not frequently picked, but I found this combination to prove very effective both in lanes and in team fights.
Level 1. Reanimation- This is still a staple in this build, not only to keep you alive, but it will also be your only talent to reduce your death timer in this build, so get those orbs baby!
Level 4. Hardened Bones- This is a talent that I have found extremely effective recently. This helps you to stay alive much better in the early game and makes escapes easier at all times. The despair on your enemies faces when they realize they cannot even put a dent into you will boost your confidence, maybe even ask that girl out on a date with such confidence.
Level 7. Paralyzing Rage- Your bread and butter. Here is where your build becomes your enemies worst nightmare PR makes chasing a breeze for the King and with the reach of skeletal swing it provides valuable lockdown for your team to secure kills. There is no escape, there is no hope, there is only fear. Oessien renewal is for babys.
Level 10. March of the Black King- Now with great power, comes great power. March of the black king is now the ultimate follow up after your paralyzing swings. It is not only a team fighting giant, but an effective chase for a kill from a slowed enemy. With this you'll be putting the fear of god into your enemies eyes and pants.
Level 13. Burning Rage- Now you're on fire. Literally. If you weren't already terrifying enough as it is, you'll constantly be dealing damage when you're on the chase, in the middle of team fights, or soaking lane, a great skill for leoric.
Level 16. Renewed Swing. Game changer. Now there truly is no escape from your clutches. Comboed with paralyzing rage, you're enemies will be in a waking nightmare. Sleep paralysis if you will. Lock down teams and make it impossible to for enemies to flee from your spookiness. Throw down a couple swings and then march your way to victory.
Level 20. Spectral Leech- This talent is just good. Pick it. Do it.
Quick Strategy Top
If you're reading this and thinking you're already a bad dude and know how to play Leoric, that's fine, that's what I expect from a cool kid like you, and yes for the most part you'll be playing a similar game, but I'll do a quick run down of how to make this build as efficient as possible.
1. Get those orbs, all the orbs, grab them, you're going to need them.
2. Stay safe with hardened bones. This talent is great for keeping Leo alive, but don't overestimate it, especially later in the game.
3. Chasing with drain hopes becomes much easier with paralyzing rage and even better with second swing. Your chase game will be extremely strong with this build.
4. Use your march wisely in team fights, pop out a skeletal swing to slow them every time before you bust this out. Don't be afraid to finish off a single enemy on the run with this now that you can slow them so well.
5. You don't have quite as much sustain with this build so staying with your team is important, but you will still be a monster in team fights, especially if you've been gathering those regen orbs all game.
6. Just be your self. Have confidence in who you are.
7. Remember, you are the Skeleton King, you are the one who strikes fears into the souls of men. You are the nightmare of the opposing team. Keep swinging that mace and stay alive with wraith walk and hardened bones, but also don't forget to use wraith walk to chase down foes and keep them afraid of your godlike power.
Matchups and closing comments Top
There are no bad matchups, except when faced against yourself. Are you brave enough to look deep into your own black soul and conquer your demons?
Anyways If you're a Leoric fan like me and want to try a fun different build. Give the nightmare a try, you'll have a lot of fun and you might find that it offers a fresh and effective build for this beautiful man. Thanks for reading and let me know what you think!
