Intro Top

Hey guys, this is my first guide. I hope at least one of you find this guide helpful. Rexxar is the first warrior in Heroes of the Storm that I've actually enjoyed playing and I think in his current state he can make a huge impact in any game.

The build below is designed to push your team to 10 first with solo merc camps at 4 and bosses at level 7, while keeping the ball rolling late game with CC and survivability.

Thanks for visiting and let me know your experiences!

Tier 1 Top

Flare: Having 5 secs of vision every 20 secs can be huge against team comps with stealthed heroes, and can also be thrown behind walls to scout Merc camps, Murky eggs, and Abathurs. Get and spam!

Hunter-Gatherer: This is a very good talent currently crippled by a bug that prevents gaining stacks from orbs picked up by teammates AND Misha. Until this is patched, picking this trait is pretty much a waste.

Grizzled Bear: Pretty standard block trait that most warriors have the option to get, if you're not comfortable with using Flare I'd go with this.

Tier 2 Top

Easy Prey: There's an argument to be made for other talents, but the sheer damage boost Misha gets from attacking Minions and Mercenaries outweighs the healing of Hungry Bear and the slow increase from Crippling Talents.

For reference here's a list of the enemies Easy Prey works on:
  • Minions
  • Mercenaries
  • Bosses (Important)
  • Golems / Skeletons
  • Plants (pre-driver)
  • Spider Queens
  • Angels (including sure the battle stage)
  • Punishers

Even as primary tank, it's hard to ignore the push this brings you and your team.

Tier 3 Top

Bird of Prey: Similar to Easy Prey with the addition of Bird of Prey turning your Q into a non-pc destroying cannon capable of doing 1200 DMG at lvl 20 every 7 seconds. The two talents combine to equal my favorite part of playing Rexxar: The Level 7 Boss Solo.

Aspect of the Beast: Offers some more CC opportunities, but it's hard to justify versus the damage boost from Bird of Prey.

Level 7 Boss Solo Top

LEVEL 7 BOSS SOLO:

People will laugh and say you're nuts for trying, but with full(ish) mana, Rexxar and Misha can solo a boss in a little over a minute. There isn't much strategy to fight itself, you can pull back Misha out of stun circle if you like, or just let her take the hit. Unless you get disturbed or run out of mana she won't die.

Where the strategy does come from is how and when you do it, and rule #1 one is SOLO IT. If you're planning on taking the boss at 7, be sure to let your team know, and to not help you and just play normal. The damage they can add isn't going to be substantial enough to make much of a difference, and 2+ MIA players is going to throw up red flags to the other team.

There is always some risk in stealing the boss at 7, but people usually don't scout it til later and the exp boost you gain in the race to 10 can be a difference maker.

Breakdown by maps:

Blackheart's Bay/Spider-Queens-Tomb: Similar boss placements, and while close to top lane they're pretty easy to steal while people are distracted getting/turning in coins and gems (Just stay out of BB's vision circle and don't cap it before).

Sky Temple: This is a ballsy play, but if you can pull it off it forces the other team out of their lanes and away from temples.

Cursed Hollow: This is a fun one with two options: cap theirs then yours or just cap yours. You can try doing yours then theirs, but if they know you can solo a boss they'll probably send someone back to ambush you while they defend the first one.

Final note: Level 7-9 is pretty much the only time you'll be able to pull this off. After you do it once, they probably won't let you do it again and the further you get in the game the more people are going to naturally scout the boss.

Tier 4 Top

They're both good choices and have their advantages for different team comps, but Bestial Wrath stacks really well with Easy Prey and Feign Death, and the chase you gain from Unleash-the-Hounds can be compensated for in the next tier.

Tier 5 Top

Tier 5 has a lot of room for flexibility depending on team comps.

Thrill of the Hunt: Gives crazy chase potential late game and can also be used as an escape mechanism if there are enemy minions ahead of you while you retreat. Best used when you're ahead in the game and against a team with ranged assassins.

Wildfire Bear: Similar to Burning Rage, Wildfire Bear deals continuous damage in team fights around Misha. A strong pick against melee based comps.

Tier Feign Death Top

Feign Death. End of section.

But seriously, pick this one. It combines the defense of Improved Ice Block with the puppetry of Ravenous Spirit, saving your from burst, stunning enemies, and just in general screwing with the enemy team's battle plan.

Tier 7 Top

Spirit Bond: This plus Feign Death will help you survive getting focused late game and just cause all kinds of trouble for the other team.

Kill Command: Dem roots! If you picked Unleash the Hounds over Bestial Wrath this is probably the reason why. Great for chasing down enemies after TF's, stopping enemies rushing your assassins, and still revealing invisible enemies.
