Hey all,
Rexxar is a new "ranged warrior", allowing you to control Rexxar as well as "semi-control" his pet, misha (you still need to rely on the AI, but you can give it directions). He is a very versatile hero, as you can go various different directions depending on what you prefer as well as map choice:
Tank/control, dps or merc/push oriented builds.
If you kill
Rexxar, Misha dies as well but gives no extra experience. If only Misha is killed, she gives 1/4 of a normal hero kill, in experience. She will respawn in a couple of seconds, but it's important to note that you require alot of pet control to effectively use this hero to it's full potentia, as this build highly relies on your ability to "kite*" the enemy around while Misha is at their throat dealing dmg. It might take some time getting used to controling misha, and the fact that there isnt a real button (that Im aware of) that tells Misha to attack someone makes it abit frustrating having to turn around while beeing chased to "reapply" Misha to the enemy.
*Kite = Running away from someone, not allowing them to hit you while you try and deal damage to them during their chase. Should they give up and stop following you, you turn and starts to following them until they either:
1. Start to chase you again,
2. Out runs you or
3. Get backup.
Abilities Top
Rexxar Is highly reliant on Misha, as she is the source of your damage, but also of your CC. Misha is tied to most of the core abilites and talents that you can choose from, without her
Rexxar is pretty useless. That is what makes
Rexxar interesting and abit harder to play than other heroes.

Spirit Swoop Deals a low amount of damage, mostly used for the 30% slow, which is an awesome initiation tool to get an easy pick off if the enemy team is transitioning from one position to another (or simply trying to escape you after a teamfight, allowing you to chase them down)
Misha, Charge! One of the most important abilities
Rexxar has. Misha will stun all enemies for 1.25 seconds and deal low amount of damage in a direction that you choose, from Misha's current position. Again, important with the control and positioning of Misha to get the most use of this ability!
Mend Pet Heals Misha for alot of health during 5 seconds. Your way to support Misha, allowing her to continue mauling at your enemies!
Bestial Wrath Is one of
Rexxar's heroic abilities. Empowers Misha, increasing her basic attack damage by 150% for 12 seconds. This results in a large amount of damage to the enemy team and is really good to focus down an enemy target quickly, if they dont get afraid of the big bear and runs away before you get the CC in...
Unleash the BoarsIs the second heroic ability of
Rexxar. Releases a herd of boars that track down and target enemies in the targeted area, dealing low amounts of damage and slows them by 40% for 5 seconds. I can see this talent work with a control build on a map where TF is number one priority, other than that, nope.
Misha, Follow! This is
Rexxar's trait , and it's this ability that allows you to, somewhat, control Misha. You toggle between Misha attacking or simply following you defensively. When you use
Misha, Charge! she will be put on attack mode by default.

Talents Top
Level 1
Hunter-Gatherer Is to help you fight for longer periods of time, as
Rexxar doesnt have any self healing apart from
Spirit Bond. Boosts both
Rexxar's and Misha's health regen by 1 per orb you pickup.
Level 4
Here you can go two different choices, it comes down to what you prefer:
Crippling Talons Increases the slow of
Spirit Swoop to 40 % and the duration to 3 seconds. Allows more time for followup CC and more control. Slows are so powerful if the enemy team tries to fall back and reset the fight. If you manage to cripple one of the enemies fleeing, it will usually be an easy pick off and give you a huge advantage until he respawns.
Taking Flight Increasing the range of
Spirit Swoop by 20% and refunds the manacost, if it hits an enemy hero. If you face heros with escapes or blinks, or heroes who generally just keep their distance, this talent could help you catch them, when you normally would not. The refunding mana cost could also help you sustain
Mend Pet alot more during teamfights, if you find yourself going early on or notice that they are focusing Misha alot.
Level 7
Aspect of the Beast Whenver Misha hit with a basica attack, the cooldown on
Misha, Charge! is lowered by 2 seconds. Higher uptime on the stun allows more control and easier for Misha to chase people down, should they try to escape.
Level 10
Bestial Wrath 150 % More damage into Misha for 12 seconds, could either force the enemy team to focus her down during teamfights, or they shall suffer the consequences.
Level 13
Thrill of the Hunt Important in this build. Gives both
Rexxar and Misha 25% movement speed for 2 seconds after a basic attack done by
Rexxar. Helps with chasing people down as well as kiting people around.
Level 16
Feign Death Similiar to other heroes
Ice Block but this talent allows you to continue your damage output with Misha, while your hero is invulnerable. Using
Bestial Wrath and then
Feign Death if they focus you, allows you to control Misha for 5 seconds to deal alot of damage while
Rexxar is completely safe. In my opinion this seems abit overpowered at the moment.
Level 20
There are two different viable talent choices for the last tier of talents:
Spirit Bond Should you feel there is a need of extra self healing, due to the healer in your team not focusing you enouhg or the enemy team simply focus you too much, this is the talent you should go for. It also allows you for abit better sustained 1v1 situations where it's really hard for you to die.
Frenzy of Kalimdor This is the ultimate hunting talent. No one should be able to escape
Rexxar if you have both
Thrill of the Hunt and this talent. The enemy will feel as if you are the most overpowered hero out there. Really strong to chase down or pick off heroes with before / after teamfights.

Gameplay & general comments Top
As I've touched on earlier, this build is primary for dps and to have the ability to pick people off if they are solo. It is decent on maps where you are forced to do alot of teamfights, but it really shines on maps like
Haunted Mines or
Blackheart's Bay where there is a chance the enemy team split up and you could potentially chase someone down or just stall, thanks to Misha. You are supposed to send Misha in and let her do the work, while you are at a safe distance, doing your best to get some basic attacks in. The majority of damage should come off Misha, it's thus very important for you to make sure she attacks the target u want focused down, but also know when to pull her back to avoid certain abilities from heroes and mercs, which coulkd result in her death.
Rexxar Is still fresh, and there are alot of things to still toy around with, but I've found this build to be really strong and on par with some assassins, when it comes to hero damage. Might be because people are not really sure how to really play vs
Rexxar yet, but you should be able to spot early on if they are trying to nuke Misha down or focus mainly on other heroes.
Misha will die alot until you get the hang of controlling her. Luckily (but at the same time abit frustrating) it's nothing like controlling
The Lost Vikings, as you dont directly control Misha, she still uses AI, but follows your directions. But considering that
Mend Pet heal for incredibly much, it should take alot of effort from the enemy team to nuke it down, which usually gives your team an advantage anyway.
Bodyblocking with Misha can be abit tricky, but it's not impossible, especially during beastial wrath, with increases the size of Misha as well. The
Misha, Charge! attack works very similiar to
E.T.C.'s stun, which allows Misha, if close enough, to jump through enemy minions and heroes, making it very hard to "outrun"
Rexxar when he has decided to hunt you down.
I will probably edit it with more information and further explanations of gameplay situations. But this is what I got right now!

Hey, my name is Vincent,
Im mostly know as Nowish or Viss3 in games, played alot of Mobas (HoN, Dota (orginal), dota2, smite, LoL etcetc.) Always try to perform my best in games and thus trying to effectively encounter obsticles with a constructive mindset, probably developed during my hardcore World of Warcraft "career".
Originally started playing this game just to prove how easy it is compared to Dota2 and got rank 1 pretty easily. But during that time I grew to like it's fast paced nature and nowadays I pref to play a hots game over dota2. Maybe it's because I enjoy the heroes from the blizzard universe, I donno, but that's how it is!
This is the first guide I've made so if it's ****, so be it, but feel free to give comments and criticism on what you think, would help me alot, should I do further guides.
Have been thinking of doing guides on Youtube as well, used to do a few WoW guides a while ago, but havent really been too eager to continue it due to lack of motivation.
Feel free to follow my twitch
