So as I was figuring out a way to play jaina it really struck me howmuch damage she could do. Especcially a well placed
Ring of Frost could decimate an entire team! Jaina leans very easily to be build heavy dps. I will not recommend this in solo que. (team que is entirely different). If you go full dps you will probably get owned by warriors because of their health pool and your low hp. Assasins will 1 shot you and you wont be able to get near (a good ) healer. So I figured out a build that suited me alot. Instead of improving what shes good at I was fixed what was bad.
This build is designed for you to keep your distance in big fights while bursting now and then. Also it gives you means to survive assasins and kill warriors. Please note that this build is just my opinion. If you have interesting additions please let me know in the comments below.
Winter's Reach This talent gives you the ability to
poke and prod from a distance. It is possible that you take
Lingering Chill or
Deep Chill though. If you do this however have in mind that you will have to fight alot closer to your target(s) and it defies the purpose a bit of this build.
Arcane Intellect Well this is a talent that i personally like. It
solves all Jaina's mana problems at once. If you are confident in your mana efficency then I suggest taking
Envenom . The extra damage is always helpfull.
Frost Armor Alot of
people underestimate this talent. Why? Because
Ice Lance and
Frostbitten Are in this level aswell. This armor will survive you a
Nova , will apply chill on chasing enemy's. Combo's very well with
Ice Barrier since you need to apply 1 less chill effect and it will go straight to a barrier.
Please note that in this level there are a lot of good options to take, this build is focussed on making Jaina more durable and this talent has a very big influence on that.
Water Elemental This talent is great for 1v1 anything. People tend to ignore the Elemental and that can be costly. Some maps and teamcompositions may require you to take
Ring of Frost. Feel free to take this since it will improve your teamfighting skills alot! The water elemental will be your weapon of choice when people are just randomly running all over the map. (happens more often then u think)
Improved Ice Block This talent has saved me more than I can count. Make sure there's someone of your team always nearby when using this. Else it will just delay the innevitable.
Icy Veins And
Sprint will be pointless if you died from 1 triple tap. this doesnt make
Icy Veins a bad choice though. If you have no fear of stitches or assasins then icy veins can wreak alot more havok and actually give you alot more shield from
Ice Barrier.
Ice Barrier Well this talent really interested me from the beginning. It also warranty's the use of
Icy Veins in this build if you like. Bit more risky but still totally viable. This talent will unlock the full solo potential of Jaina. You can take merc camps at a decent speed. Survive a lot of very dire situations if you dont stop casting spells. And your
Wintermute spells actually adds more shield. This talent is a must have if you want to survive the nexus these days.
Wintermute or
Bolt of the Storm take bolt of the storm only if you have no other option or you took
Ring of Frost (you just have to aim harder ;))
Early Game (1-10)
Focus on objectives and helping out your teammates (this also includes being in a sololane). You can die very very quickly since you dont have your defensive talents yet. Always make sure that in a teamfight there is at least 1 ally between you and your closest enemy. You have increased range on your
Frostbolt so you can make sure nobody even tries going for you. As soon as you see an opening (a stun of some sorts) you can unleash your frozen might and back off again to wait for your cooldowns. If there's a sticky hero on you try to kite him and run.
This is not your time to shine
Mid game (10-20
Now you can have some fun. If you run past a lane just use E and W combo to instant clear a minion wave. Make sure you go for the objectives and provide good damage for your team. Always
wait till the odds are in your favor. If you don't it will probably mean death. If there's actually someone who wants to fight you 1 on 1 feel free to unleash your wrath. Don't let him escape! Your increased frostbolt range can make running hard for your enemy's. As soon as you pick up
Ice Barrier go for merc camps. You can easily solo the easy camps. It costs half your health for hard camps generaly.
Late Game 20+
Jaina will not be much different in the late. You will be a beast 1 v 1 with
Wintermute and with some focus you will not die. If there is a HUGE wave coming for your base then your the girl to kill it. E + W combo decimates minions no matter how many.
