Lt. Morales No threat, but they can knock you out of stealth with the gretnade.

6
Tassadar While not a threat themselves they can counter hard by revealing you from steal with their trait.
6
Hanzo Hanzo's Sonic Arrow can be annoying but is pretty easy to dodge, but may completely zone you out. Apart from that he melts like butter.
6
Nova Nova isn't a hard match up as you can pop Cloak of Shadows just before the first shot from triple tap hits to negate most of the damage. But, she can knock you out of stealth but you have to de-stealth to knock her out of stealth, which is annoying.
6
Zeratul Same issue as with Nova, they can knock you out of stealth. A bit more of a challenge to lock down than a nova, but if you can get the silence off it's not that hard of a fight.
7
Anub'arak You're probably not going to be able to kill them and once they're abilities are back up they won't be fun to fight against.
7
Nazeebo A good Nazeebo, will ruin your day. If they spot your shadow they'll probably throw something at you, spiders or frogs, easy kill if you get the drop on them though. Try to stop them stacking especially if they take the double talent. You CAN dash out of the ghouls with Sinister Strike.
8
Johanna You won't be able to kill her and then she'll just blind you and walk off or keep you busy for their team to arrive.
8
Leoric Too much health and can regen it, not worth the hassle.
8
Mal'Ganis Once the silence runs out, lots of self-healing and CC, hard to pin down 1v1.
8
Cassia Blinds are annoying and armour when running. Can poke catch you with AoE and skill shots to knock you out of stealth.
8
Illidan Not a fun matchup, if he gets his dodge ability up your damage is seriously minimised, disengage and wait for it to finish. Silencing is obviously nice to stop it in the first place, but you probably won't kill him in that time.
9
Varian Twin sword Varian is not your friend and will melt you.
9
The Butcher A well stacked butcher will auto attack you to death still. Either harass and run or ignore till you can kill them in a few hits.
9
Cho Way too much health and damage. The silence will help your team bring them down together but don't try and solo him.
9
Thrall Once the silence has run out after engaging they can slap you roots and stuns as well as a hell of a lot of damage and heal themselves.

Talents Top

Vigor is my preferred talent, the extra 20 enegergy is nice and stops you capping as quickly when your skills are on cooldown, and the constant 3 regen is useful. Downside is you have to farm those 20 regen globes.
Hemorrhage gives you a nice boost to your basic attacks and synergises well with the next talent Slice and dice.
Slice and Dice is a nice regen bonus and if used at 3 points gives you that 150% attack speed boost letting you get another hit or two in easy.
Cloak of Shadows is pretty much the only heroic worth getting, 75% spell armour and 1.5s of unstoppable allows you to ignore stuns and take a few spells to the face while you escape or grab the kill. I usually use it to aid escaping if the enemy team turn on me while I'm sniping a backline from a team fight.
Strangle helps Valeera excel against spell casters, if they get a chance to hit you with a spell you'll be able to minimise the damage between this and cloak of shadows.
Thistle tea is my preferred t6 talent as if you screw up somewhere you've got that instant 100 energy to dash out with Sinister strike or extend a fight a bit longer to get a kill. It's a last resort that I'd rather have and not use than not have when I need it.
Rupture is the preference here, it will allow you to escape if need be just before your target dies, and they should bleed out anyway. Though Enveloping shadows may be better if you're struggling to survive. But unless you're going an ambush build with Death from above, you'll probably still have vanish on cooldown, so take the extra damage.

Sneaky sneaky, stabby stabby! Top

to initiate, this will silence them, and start your bleeding damage upping your auto attack damage against the target.

Next you'll want to use either if they're still in range or if they've moved and you need to gap close, then use the other so you've got your 3 combo points.

Now smash them with your to get the attack speed buff and a nice bit of damage.

By this point you just need to auto attack while your energy regens and cool downs tick down. Now if they're still alive and you're safe, carry on with stacking 3 combo points and to use them.

When is off cool down and you think you're still safe use it to use go for another or an if they're really low for the quick burst damage.

Keep your for when you think any incoming CC is going to hit you, you've only got 1.5s of unstoppable every 15 seconds. You can also save this to remove any DoTs if you're against a team with heavy bleeds/poisons etc. It's a nice safety blanket, I'd use it mainly for blocking any heavy CC (stuns, roots, sleeps etc.)

Remember you have if you need the energy to escape or use that last skill to finish them off.

Don't worry about getting stuck outta stealth! Top

Combat Readiness is nice if you're against heavy auto attacks, it will limit your energy regen, so taking Vigor is probably still a better option.

Relentless Strikes will be a nice way to lower your energy usage allowing you to talent out of Vigor and into Combat Readiness.

Mutilate is a nice damage bonus on Sinister Strike, lowering the distance you can travel though, so you'll have to make sure you can stick to your target in other ways.

Cloak of shadows will be used more to remove damage etc. in this and allow you to face tank a skill or two.

You're probably going this build because you are going to struggle with getting many stealth skills off, but if you find someone all alone, this can be a great way to lock them down, or even if you use Cloak of Shadows > Stealth > Cheap Shot in the middle of combat it's a nice reprieve.

Seal of Fate is another damage boost to Sinister Strike, and will combo nicely with Cheap Shot or Garrote, they have to be rooted, stunned or silenced to be able to give the bonus.

Enveloping Shadows will allow you to use your Stealth as another panic safety button, giving it the effects of Cloak of Shadows.

You'll still want to try and start a fight from Stealth on weaker targets, but you'll be able to hold your own quite will against bruisers etc. with this. Of course the Garrote build is just as capable by limiting the amount of skills and your auto attack damage rather than your skill damage and general ability to soak small amounts of damage.

Other Talents Top

Other useful talents that may be more useful in certain situations.

Tier 1

This is a valid alternate to vigor and recommended if you're either not good at getting the regen globes either because you're too busy killing heroes and not near camps/lanes. Or you're not planning to stay much longer than a rotation or two, as you'll have massive energy regen for those 5 seconds.

If you're up against a heavy auto attack team this may be a preferable talent for safety rather than offense. Every time you use Eviscerate at 3 charges you'll take 75% less damage from the next 3 auto attacks.

If you find yourself often okay with energy but the enemy managing to run away this can be a nice way to keep them slowed down.

Tier 4

Not really that much use as you can get a nice amount of regen and you've got a 5 second (4 if you hit a hero) cooldown.

Gives you an extra combo point and a movement speed bonus, useful for finishing of weakened enemies in a team fight quickly and getting out of there.

This is useful against enemies who can self heal. But usually you'll be targeting the healer first so there won't be much healing coming out of them and not many heroes have self healing you can't silence.

Tier 7

This is quite a nice damage bonus on your Sinister Strike, which will be useful if you can't stay in range to get 3 hits off after an Eviscerate.

If for some reason a lot of squishy enemies are repeatedly stacking this can be a massive AoE burst damage. But when does that happen?

Tier 10

I can't really recommend this talent I see a lot of people use it, but never really get anything out of it, sure you get a nice little safety patch but it's a long cool down and people can just walk away from it, or throw loads of AoE spells on top of it.

Tier 13

Useful if you need to use Ambush to finish someone of then get out of there nice and quick, probably best on an Ambush build but if you're not in need of the spell power reduction this is a pretty nice talent.

Doesn't really fit into this build but if you were to go down a Cheap Shot build against a auto attack heavy team this would be one of your key talents.

Tier 16

If you're going down a Sinister Strike build this is a nice bonus to damage and the extra combo point on Silenced enemies combos well with Garrote, would recommend taking this if you don't want the active skill of Thistle Tea.

Doesn't really fit in the build, maybe to help finish off fleeing enemies if they're not near anyone else, would be my last choice on this tier.

Tier 20

Even if you went for Smoke Bomb, the overkill with energy regen here is ridiculous. You'll never use energy fast enough to warrant this skill.

A nice combo with Death from above, not really worth it. I don't think it uses the cool down on Cloak of Shadows, which is an up, but the cool down is so short anyway, there are better talents in this tier.

If you're not really struggling for damage and want to get around the map a bit quicker while still in stealth this is an okay pick. I probably still wouldn't pick it, but each to their own.
