Basically my intention between the dynamic of Fade, Holy Fire and Spectral Guise is to play on his high risk, high gains game. I want him to be able to be caught off guard but have the tools to get away if he is caught off guard. His trait forces him to stand out in the open but knowing how his kit works, the opposing team has to know he's close. Hmmm, it almost feels down and dirty basic to me. I like the trait a lot, but it feels like the base concept needs work. I wasn't a Necro player in D2 so its a little hard for me to place what seems missing. You're obviously going for the Zoomancer build which is probably one of the favorites. I just don't get the vibe. There probably should be something in there to state specifically that the Skeletons are using the Defender AI. It wouldn't feel like a Zoomancer unless the Skeletons...

For what its worth, MY version of Auriel is intended to be from the start of Diablo 3; not post Diablo 3 ending. Based on that, the idea is she's giving each of the heroes a class of archangel that IS in service. Would it seem better if I named them to sound less "Direct Aspect" such as: - Valorian Archangel - Wrathful Archangel - Hopeful Archangel - Fateful Archangel ?

Keep in mind, possession only lasts 10 seconds. It's actually the opposite; you're jumping into someone and giving them very temporary benefits. I originally gave Demonic Possession life leach for instance, but I decided to roll that into talents. It's something that's strong enough that it should probably require talent investment. Through playing with talents, I expect to make a point to make possession last longer, reduce cooldown *OR* make it more potent.

I like that idea a lot too. I think it makes for a more convincing top down approach to Valerian too. Valerian himself often comes across more as an assassin in context of heroes (as does MOST potential HOTS candidates). This gives him the ability to come through as a tank without fully removing the idea that he should probalby be an assassin.

I guess I should also say I am thinking through the Ults a bit on Mephisto. I've said it before and I'll say it again: I think turning someone into something else doesn't flow well with this game format. Turning a player into Mephisto feels unbelievably right for THIS hero, but displacing a heroes skill set often has the affect of decreasing their performance; not increasing it. You're right that I need to work that out a little better, especially what they grant other heroes. I wanted to very specifically make sure that what she's granting is simply huge buffs and not new abilities. Giving an unsuspecting player, especially an ally, a different skill set in mid combat is just going to throw that player into turmoil. Mechanics that can be used to troll are concerning, but the sad fact is if we isolate ourselves to the assumption that people are going to use utility tools to the detriment of their team, it will bar a lot of great potential tools in the future. Heroes is a team game and we have to design under the belief that, in general, people are going to want to help their team win; not cause it to lose.
