About Me

Hi, I'm a 38 year old who grew up playing ColecoVision, Atari, and Nintendo. I fell in love with Heroes of the Storm because the game is this amazing arena where we can connect with others while having a good time and challenging ourselves as a group. In an age where communication, negotiation, and teamwork have dwindled, HotS gives us the opportunity to recapture what makes us human.

Heroes of the Storm provides many challenges, and my philosophy is to prioritize these challenges to maximize benefit. Each challenge is exponentially more demanding and more rewarding than the next. My overarching philosophy is to bring patience to everyone's learning process and to realize the gravity of the task at hand. Not only are we learning to master ourselves, but master dealing with others in less than optimal situations. I can't think of a bigger task.


Challenge 1 - Master your characters controls (Master You). This is best done in character trial.
Challenge 2 - Master battlefield mechanics (Master the Environment). This is best done in Training mode or Custom AI games.
Challenge 3 - Master working as a team (Master communication and leadership/followship). This is best done in AI
Challenge 4 - Master playing the enemy team (Master the Enemy). This is best done in Quickmatch or above.
Challenge 5 - Master team composition and Drafting (Master the Meta).

You can usually find me online on any given night or morning. I prefer to play all characters so I understand them. Because I work, have sub-par internet, and tend to level all Heroes across, I spend a good amount of time in AI mastering new heroes ins and outs.

Quick-match tends to be a meh experience because of hero duplication, no drafting, and long match lengths. Along with the fact that half the people on quick-match are in groups of 5 on voice chat. Until Blizzard fixes quick-match or I get voice-chat, I'll tend to avoid quick-match.

The first character I bought was Gazlowe who is my main (Here's my guide). Other than Gaz I'm open to all the roles (I secretly don't believe in roles, just strategies). For now my rig is pretty weak and I don't have voice chat (which I plan on fixing when I can).
