Hello!
Thank you for stopping by and checking out my Fenix build. Here you'll find a few basic tips, tricks, and tactics I've used while playing this hero. Please feel free to comment and leave suggestions or recommendations on how to improve this guide.
Engage Top
Before 13 it's important to remember Fenix's shield depletes quickly and you must be out of combat before it begins to regenerate. Healers are nice to have nearby from 1 to 7 as you'll quickly lose your shield and will need to jump in and out of combat. This early in the game, it's best to keep your Warp available unless you're going in for a kill and know your healer is right behind you. That 15 second cooldown isn't fun if you're the only one going in.
Sustain Top
Once you've achieved 30 hits with your Plasma Cutter, it's time to really turn up the heat. I will typically keep my Weapon Mode in Phase Bomb, mainly because as you're keeping your targets slowed with Plasma Cutter, you're dealing more and more damage to your target each shot. Remember to only use Warp if you've got an allie nearby or you're fighting under your own tower or with your own minions as the tides could turn against you if you can get singled out.
Killing Blow Top
Fenix's strongest suit is the sustained damage and combination of other ultimate abilities from allied heroes. If you can combine your ultimate to be timed correctly with another hero's ability to stun, slow, or even trap enemy heroes you'll quickly keep the enemy team out of any areas you'd like to occupy. Keep in mind the 100 second cooldown on Planet Cracker as you'll only want to use this ultimate when the time is right. An additional bonus to Planet Cracker is that it has a global range and is not hindered by enemy buildings or units.
Lather, Rinse, Repeat Top
After 16 Fenix should be relatively unstoppable, the level 20 talent is simply the icing on the cake if you decide to go ham in team fights. Open with your Plasma Cutter, and adjust your range accordingly depending on if you're fighting melee or ranged. Continue to hit them with your Phase Bomb basic attack and warp in only after your Plasma Cutter cooldown has reset to finish off your target. Be aware of your surroundings if you do so as it's no fun to dive into a trap.
That'll be it for now. There will be updates as Fenix inevitably will get hit with the nurf hammer, but until then, stay tuned and I'll see you in the Nexus!
