Threat Hero Notes
1
Gazlowe Not a threat. E and Q through the turrets on top of him and then proceed to Drop the Bass.
1
Li Li You can disregard for the most part, her blind can mess with your E + AA combo. But it's not much.
1
Murky Stoopid fishy.. Stahp
1
Nazeebo Not really an issue, you're pretty much Nazeebo's hard counter. Everything can interrupt her Ravenous Spirit, and you can Q or W to get out of zombie wall. Your E also out sustains her damage in the late game.
1
Azmodan lol.. Azmodan..
2
Falstad Not really much of a threat. You have three abilities that counter his Heroic's. And your E does a good job sustaining against his auto attack/basic ability damage. Q on top of him and give him a little wub.
2
Jaina If you stun lock Jaina she's dead. And you can't really kite an ETC.
3
Illidan Don't 1v1 him and hes not really a threat.
3
Nova Can really punish aggressive Novas with your stun lock. Although a smart Nova will stay far away from you.
3
Rehgar His Totem can mess with your movement speed buff, and can Heroic heal a target in mosh. If he takes Blood Lust he essentially just countered himself. Dance parties counter Raging.
3
Stitches Meh, his hook and W build can interrupt mosh, although, he usually gets caught in it. If he hooks you through terrain W + Q, or vice versa depending on what side of Stitches the exit is. If he hooks you at the beginning of a team fight Q through him and Mosh him and his team.
3
Tassadar No interrupts, try to land your Mosh on him or he will burst you down.
3
Zeratul Melee assassin. Wait for his engage and then mosh. Or Q him out of stealth and throw a party!
4
Abathur Abather can mess with ETC's ganking potential via mines. He can also potentially Heroic an enemy counter hero as well, such as tychus or brightwing.
4
Tyrael Can be a problem late game with stand aside and Judgement. Other than that just try to hit your combos to disengage his teleport. He will usually get caught in Mosh.
4
Uther Usually gets hit by Mosh. He can't interrupt until 20 due to the range on Hammer of Justice.
4
Zagara A good maw ends parties. Other than that, shes not much of an threat.
5
Valla Interrupt her Strafe. Vault + Rain of Vengeance counter Mosh Pit pretty effectively however.
5
Thrall Sundering can interrupt your mosh, and his root can mess with your engagements. Other than that he poses no direct threat to you.
6
Kerrigan Her E and W can interrupt your dance party. But if she is close enough to land either of those abilities is Q on top of her and Mosh.
6
Muradin Can Q interrupt your Mosh Pit, but most of the time he gets caught in it first.
6
Raynor Ranged knockback on a short CD = "GG mosh pit." But usually you want to land it on him first so it's not much of an issue.
6
Sgt. Hammer Can cause substantial harass, two forms of ranged CC for your mosh pit. She can counter play you as well as you can counter play her.
6
Tychus Ranged Knockback, you want to land your Bass Drop combo to counter his counter.
7
Arthas Arthas is really strong. His root counters your Q, and can usually get the engagement on you, forcing you to W as a disengage rather than an over extension. His Sindragosa counters your Uber Rockstar as well. Also, respect the Lich King's authority. He will kill you if you try to duel him.
7
Malfurion Root can mess with your Q. Can Silence your Heroic.
8
Sonya 2 sources of ranged CC on short and moderate CD's. You HAVE to land your dance party on her or your party is over.
9
Brightwing Huge pain in team fights. Very elusive and ranged CC on a short cooldown. "GG Mosh Pit"
9
Diablo Can charge interrupt your mosh. Can Apocalypse your mosh. "GG Mosh Pit"
9
Tyrande A good Tyrande wouldn't get hit by mosh and would E to counter it. However, if she ever stands next to her Assassin that is the time to Q and Dance.
9
Anub'arak Hard to land Mosh on. Will always interrupt it.
10
E.T.C. ETC counters ETC. Because ETC's manliness is so out of control, ETC can't even handle it.

Who is Bassdrop?

Hello! Allow me to introduce myself, my name is Bassdrop. I play the Assassin and Warrior role competitively. I've been in Heroes of the Storm since early alpha and have been playing non-stop ever since. When I first started playing this game I immediately fell in love with the Warrior role (ETC specifically), and have over a thousand games played on Warriors alone. I found this class to be extremely engaging, flashy, and a play maker.

E.T.C. was instantly my favorite Hero, especially the Super Saiyan glam metal skin. (GJ Blizzard, well played.) And I played from level 1 - 24, strictly as ETC. He was the first hero I got max progression on and now have roughly 250+ games played.

Pro's and Con's Top

This guide has three builds for the most common situations in which you would pick ETC. (Team Fight, Split Push, and Disengage) This guide will focus heavily on the Team Fight build but please take a look at all the builds so you are capable of being dynamic.

PRO'S

- High Mobility
- Hard to Kill
- Play maker
- Lots of disruption/interrupt
- Good Engage/Disengage
- Versatile

CON'S

- No damage
- His play making Heroic Ability( Mosh Pit), is easily countered with ranged CC
- Requires a smart team to follow up on his plays
- Long CDs
- Mana hungry

Ability Overview Top

Combat Trait

Rockstar (passive) ;

Your combat trait is Rockstar. This ability is a huge AoE steroid, and with the Uber Rockstar talent it's kind of like a mini- Bloodlust every time you use an ability. This is a very underrated combat trait, and can really excel in Auto-Attack heavy compositions, or during a siege.

Basic Abilities

Powerslide (Q) ;

Powerslide has great utility. It can do things like interrupt channeled abilities such as Nazeebo's Ravenous Spirit, and Falstad's Hinterland Blast. It can also be used to stun multiple enemies while simultaneously getting into position for a Mosh Pit. Or to combo with Face Melt and force an over-extension. And last, but certainly not least, the ability to get into position between your target and their team (body block).

Face Melt (W) ;

Face Melt has great disengage, and equally as impressive engage. When combo'd with Powerslide & Face Smelt it really punishes enemy squishies like Valla or Nova for aggressive positioning. This ability really shines in disengage team compositions such as the infamous "Protect the Sgt. Hammer"" comp.

Guitar Solo (E) ;

Guitar Solo is by far your best basic ability because of its synergy with your Combat Trait and your Talents. (SPAM IT BABY!! SLAP DA BASS!)

Ok but seriously;
- It has a short CD. (allowing uptime on Rockstar)
- It has great sustained healing AND damage (via Echo Pedal, Guitar Hero, and Rockstar)
- And its versatile. (allows ETC to explore several different builds).

If you pick up Pwn Shop Guitar & Uber Rockstar you become this huge AoE buff bot at level 13 with insane uptime on your Combat Trait. Or you can take Echo Pedal and instantly turn into a pushing/dueling monster. Or maybe even Groupies for the infamous protect the hammer/disengage team comps.

Just make sure to use Guitar Solo on CD when in fights, or while sieging, to constantly proc Rockstar, Echo Pedal, and Guitar Hero to maintain your sustain.

Heroic Abilities

Mosh Pit (H1) (R);

Mosh Pit is a very, very good ability(to say the least). After a moderately short channel you begin an epic dance party that forces anything caught inside to start DANCING! It lasts four seconds and can be used to Drop the Bass along side Strafe, Precision Strike, Grav-O-Bomb 3000, Hinterland Blast, and many more! Best used as a counter-engagement, or flank. If you try to (Q) Powerslide into a team fight against 5 competent players you WILL get cc'd, you WILL get focused, and you will probably die.

Stage Dive (H2) (R) ;

Stage Dive is fantastic when trying to split push (see build 2) due to its global presence. It also works great along side backdoor comps with Zagara, Abathur, and Gazlowe; Due to the fact Rockstar also effects Zagara minions, Gazlowe turrets, and lane minions.

Talents Top

I'm going to break down why I pick every talent. So, let's take a look;

Tier One

Block ;

I take Block in order to sustain as much DPS as possible while I set-up to Drop the Bass( Mosh Pit). Block will also allow you to trade effectively, and duel while in those split push situations.
Other Talents

Tier Two

Echo Pedal ;

- AoE sustained damage
- Great split push capabilities in combination with Stage Dive
- Can merc moderately well
- Decent wave clear/defend
- Good sustain damage in team fights
- Allows you to duel effectively

Echo Pedal is overall a very versatile talent.

Other Talents

Tier Three

Guitar Hero ;

I take Guitar Hero since I spam Guitar Solo all game due to his Combat Trait Rockstar and the previous talent pick..(Synergy OP) Since I am spamming my E; I have small bursts of damage, while further increasing my sustain. A great pick with both Pwn Shop Guitar and Echo Pedal.

Other Talents

HEROIC Tier

DANCE PARTY!! ;

Mosh Pit Is by far the superior heroic for wombo combo'ing, face melting, panty dropping Bass Drops.

This is a AoE four second stun that offers viability in both "all in" and disengage team comps. If you use this ability correctly(gets a lot easier at 20 with Bolt of the Storm) you will carry your team. And when the party starts.. it gets TURNT UP TO ELEVEN!!

Other Talents

Tier Five

Uber Rockstar ;

I take Uber Rockstar to allow for chase potential to clean up the mess after we drop the bass. Also good for your Assassins for kiting, and your Melee for body-blocking and positioning.

Other Talents

Tier Six

Guitar Instrumental ;

Still spamming Guitar Solo from earlier talent choices. Furthering my Sustain/Survivability. This ability really shines in solo queue because, one; you dont always have a competent healer. And two, the enemy may not always have the auto attack sustain that makes Imposing Presence so good. Guitar Intrumental is going to be beneficial in every solo queue game which is why I chose this talent. However, all choices on this Tier can work great in their own domains. Be dynamic. (see other talents/builds 2 and 3.)

Other Talents

Tier Seven

Bolt of the Storm ;

It's a tough choice between Bolt of the Storm and Death Metal if you are in SoloQ. Premades should have enough damage to back up the Dance Party without that increaseed 25%. Therefore, Bolt of the Storm would be the more viable choice here. Allowing easy Mosh Pit set-ups and a panic button for failed engagements, or heavy incoming burst. But in SoloQ you can get some pretty wierd compositions, so make sure you stay dynamic. (Do we lack damage? Maybe I should pick up Death Metal.)

Other Talents

Early, Mid, and Late Game and Map Breakdown Top

I will break down phases by level. Early Game being levels 1-9, Mid Game being 10-19, and Late Game being 20+. I will also break down your role on every map. There are some things that are going to be consistant throughout every map, and those things will be; Ganking & Roaming, Engaging/Disengaging team fights appropriately, and staying with your team mid/late game. Let's look a little closer;

Blackheart's Bay

Early Game

- Roam & Gank
- Collect coins from chests
- Kill pirates/mercs

Mid Game

- Find and help Teammates to attain Merc Camps and Coins.
- Engage/Disengage team fights for Turn-In.
- Maintain control over Boss

Late Game

- Stay grouped.
- Prioritize collecting coins over pushing.
- Powerslide / Mosh Pit Turn ins.
- Collect coins until you win

Cursed Hollow

Early Game

- Roam & Gank
- Group at Tribute Spawns
- 1v1 Solo tribute cappers on first tribute.

Mid Game

- Team Fights at tributes. If you win, rotate to the nearest Boss.
- Zone Enemies if your team is capping.
- Disrupts if enemy is capping, try to land a big stuns.

Late Game

- Stay grouped.
- Prioritize 5 Man pushes when enemy is cursed, 5 man defending when you are.
- Grab Mercs for map control between tributes.
- Try to get a Golem the same time the enemy is cursed for a 5 man push to win.

Dragon Shire

Early Game

- Roam & Gank
- Duel and Skirmish for shrines.
- Help with Knight/Merc control.

Mid Game

- Team Fights at Shrines and Dragon Knight(DK)
- Prioritize DK > Bot lane Mercs > Knights

Late Game

- Stay grouped.
- Keep Map control via BOT LANE merc control
- 5 man win pushes with DK

Garden of Terror

Early Game

- COLLECT SEEDS
- Roam & Gank
- Solo Camps (Can solo Knights at Level 7.)

Mid Game

- Collect seeds as a TEAM. Focusing small ones first.
- If you get a terror push one lane as 4, and the opposite lane with terror.
- Stay grouped.

Late Game

- Stay grouped.
- Maintain Merc control as 5.
- Try to time a plant terror + Knights for win pushes.

Haunted Mines

Early Game

- Pre-Push the lane your Golem spawns.
- Enter mines with your team and get picks/skulls.
- 4:1 split when golems spawn. You and 3 people respond to the stronger golem (push or defend), and the last person goes to the opposite lane to soak exp.

Mid Game

- 5 man defend the strongest of the two golems.
- Maintain merc control.
- This map is usually decided during Mid Game/2nd Mines phase.

Late Game

- Stay grouped.
- Collect Skulls
- DO NOT DIE

Sky Temple

Early Game

- Help team cap shrines.
- Stay between mid/top for first phase.
- Rotate bot for second phase.

Mid Game

- Fight for shrines
- Capture Mercenaries
- Get Boss if you win a team fight/get a pick

Late Game

- Stay grouped
- Cap shrines/mercs until you win

Thank you~ Top

Thanks for reading and rating my guide! I really enjoy making these as much as I enjoy playing this game. I'll keep all my guides updated from patch to patch, and will create more as time goes on. If you have any suggestions for the next hero I should write a guide on, or maybe some constructive criticisms on how to simply make my guides easier to enjoy, feel free!
