Eternal Hunger Out of all the other talent options in this tier, this one's situational requirements are very easy to meet & boost not only damage but mana regen. Both the quest & the reward are good. Pick this talent quickly.
Frost Presence Successfully hitting a target with the ability:
Howling Blast is already hard to land. Investing a talent into it successfully landing is not worth it. Even with experience, landing it successfully is not guaranteed.
Block Unfortunately, this could get wasted if it blocks a low damage auto attack. I only recommend picking this up, in those rare situation where 2 auto attack heroes are present on the enemy team ex:(
Valla/
Falstad)
Biting Cold Because the ability:
Frozen Tempest requires little to no mana and it hits every target near you, it allows you deliver constant damage as long as you are in range. Fantastic for clumped up heroes in team fights.
Deathlord To begin with, a big team fight does not last long enough for your to cast more than 1
Death Coil also the range extension is negligible. This talent option is sub-par compared to other talents available in this tier.
Frozen Wastes Mana regeneration is not an issue and will never be, even if you decide not to take talents that aid with mana regeneration. However, this doesn't mean the ability:
Frozen Tempest should be up all the time.
Immortal Coil The healing portion is a good bonus, which alleviates a lot of pressure from your support players. This talent selection is the most useful in the tier & should be grabbed as soon as possible. Pick it no matter what.
Rune Tap Arthas has a very slow attack speed & most of the time, you wont be able to land more than 4 auto attacks in a heated team fight. I only recommend it, in scenarios a
Rehgar on your team picked:
Bloodlust.
Icebound Fortitude The damage reduction is really low, it has a short duration & a long cooldown. Avoid taking this talent at all cost. There is not a single situation, where this talent selection is beneficial for you or your team.
Summon Sindragosa: The slow from a distance can be used to reach hard to obtain targets and the back line of the enemy team. The added benefit of this disabling structures also can incite a team fight on your own terms.
Army of the Dead Unfortunately, the ghouls that get summoned could be quickly destroyed by enemy area of effect abilities. There is also a delay between sacrificing each ghoul for health points, which hinders your survival.
Frigid Winds This can completely decimate the ennemy team's assassin's, essentially nullifying a whole hero for a team fight. Since you are a melee hero, the effect of the ability:
Frozen Tempest is consistent in a fight.
Trail of Frost As previously mentioned, its very hard to land:
Howling Blast properly even with practice it is not guaranteed. I only recommend selecting this talent, if your team has absolutely no stuns/slows of any kind.
Frost Strike In the heat of battle, you will not have time to cast many
Frostmourne Hungers.
Remorseless Winter Your toolkit is full of slows, once the enemy is within Frozen tempest they will not be getting out and will eventually be stunned. This stun enables your whole team to move forward and pounce
Frostmourne Feeds Can benefit your damage output if cast in speedy succession. However, it only bolsters your own damage. The previous talents enable your whole team to move in and deal their own damage which
Embrace Death This is extremely situational and relies on you to have taken a great deal of damage while relying on a spell with a long cooldown. Avoid at all cost.
Absolute Zero The root and slow is an absolute must, as it gives your team an aggressive stance into initiating the enemy team. The possibility to root the enemy team for a couple of seconds is an opportunity, you must take.
Death's Advance Although, its move speed augmentation can be useful for chasing down wandering targets or potentially escaping a dangerous situation is mediocre, if you where to compare this with other talents in this tier.
Anti-Magic Shell I only recommend selecting this talent up, in those rare situations you are against two enemy hero casters, for example: (
Jaina &
Gul'dan). However, it also demands some quick thinking to do properly.
Legion of Northrend This upgraded talent option cannot be picked anymore, because a different ultimate talent was selected at Level 10. If this path ever becomes viable & useful in the meta I will consider some modifications.
