I love these builds! I'm both excited and very scared to see what will change after the next patch buffs a few other talents and "buffs" hivemind (according to the patch notes for the PTR it will recast automatically when people leave the range so you don't have to but the 2nd symbiote has it's power halved which seems like it overall makes the talent a lot worse)
Like the guide a lot. I wanted to ask about soaking in lane with abathur because that's the only thing that I'm having trouble with. I know the basic idea (unoccupied lane, go into it, chill out, set up some defenses and be map aware while you symbiote teammates etc.) my problem is when I'm actually going out to soak I often still find myself getting snuck up on when I try to. I end up so focused on symbiote that I fail to see pretty much anyone coming to kill me. Is there any general rule of thumb on where you should soak in lane other than just in bushes/vents? Is it maybe a problem with not so much where Im hiding but how deep in lane I am? (sitting too far out to retreat before being reached or otherwise?) Hoping a fellow abathur player can help.
You should plant mines around your stake out spot, and keep an constant eye on the minimap around your hero. You'll see them incoming and will be able to act accordingly.
I found using abathur a bit of a learning curve and this really helped me out. There's something very satisfying about being able to dip into team fights at will (Though i have had someone try to report me for being "afk" and staying in a bush haha).
I'm sure you've heard this before but I wish there was a cooldown display while in symbiote. Are you aware of anything being done to address this?
Again thanks for the guide
Thank you for the reply and I'm glad you are enjoying abathur! He definitely is tricky and I have had people wonder wtf I was doing sitting behind walls and such lol.
As for the cooldown display while in symbiote I do not know of anything yet relating to this that they are working on :(

You cannot drop Symbiote and then reapply to have fresh cooldowns. They will remain there.
That is wrong. Reapplying refreshes all cooldowns. However there is a big cooldown on Symbiote itself (I think 4 seconds?) and pressing Symbiote on someone is not immediate... it seems to have a small cast time, since i never can cast shields very fast on them. After all not stronger despite the refresh.
- So just an oudated information i found.
About Falstad, Nova,zeratul:
I think later two ones are only a thread in the lategame due to Toxic nests covering the paths towards in the early/mid game, despite Dragon Shire (very broad access points to your first keep), and maybe another map. While that is much more difficult later on.
Great guide. One thing I'd like to add that makes Aba absolutely amazing at 20 is that he can Symbiote his monstrosity and it'll also apply to an ally next to it. Great if you're playing symbiote spec and have a teammate you're communicating with. Set up that monstrosity early in the lane where you see enemies aren't around at and let the monstrosity gain some stacks and then have a teammate join you in that lane and start tearing the lane apart with double symbiote. Won 7 straight games in ranked with aba + murky doing this.

Solid guide mate!
