Introduction Top
Hey guys my name is Generalbeak and I have been a
Raynor main ever since I got let into the alpha almost 10 months ago. I picked up Raynor because I love his character then ended up loving his play style. In this guild I will show you two builds that I will use, when I use them and why I think that they are good. I believe Raynor is one of the most underrated heroes in this game. My background with Raynor is that I have a 66.7% win rate with him in hero league and a 70% win rate with him overall (from about 100 games). I am currently rank 20 at the time of writing this, but I have moved from rank 50 to 20 really quickly with 121 and a 55% win rate.
My Build Top
The main build I use is really different than any other
Raynor build I have seen. I like this build because you can control when you get your burst heal, you can heal for more as well as more frequently and boost nearby allies while dishing out a lot of long range damage yourself. I take Give me more because it allows you to heal for 50% more and when combined with Activated Rush you heal a ton every 30 seconds. I take Revolution Overdrive because I think the movement speed it gives is better than any other talent you can pick. Now for his ult it is a little tricky. I like to take Hyperion because it allows you to not only help in fights but throw it down to create big pushing pressure before an objective or a team fight. Additionally it can be used to stop objective capture without endangering yourself (such as on blackhearts or dragon shire). Raynor's Raiders can be useful for sticking to a important target in team fights but I think Hyperion tends to be better overall. The next ability I take is where your big damage spike will come in. Puttin' on a Clinic reduces Raynor's cooldowns upon kill or assist. This can be huge when buffing allies, or when you hit 16 refreshing your stun from penetrating round (bullseye). Additionally it also reduces the cooldown for your activated rush which since we talented it earlier it gets even better and allows you to dish out damage while taking some yourself. Bullseye is a good talent because it allows you to stun people which can take a carry out of a fight, help you win a 1v1, help you get teammates out, or stop a big healing ult such as tranquility or jugs. Lastly the level 20 talent is where I tend to branch out the most. A card to play furthers your cd reduction which can make it good in fights for the same reasons as the level 13 talent. Bolt of the storm is always a good pick if you are getting focused in fights and your healing just isn't cutting it. Upgraded Hyperion is good if you need to get some pushing done in order to win the game (situational).
How to play/Position Raynor Top
Lanning Phase:
Raynor in the lanning phase can be a pain Raynor's W allows you to push waves hard and your Q can go through all the minions coming or your opposition to push them away. Raynor can use his Hyperion to push even harder if the situation presents itself.
Positioning in team fights: Raynor's passive allows you to be even further back then most ranged carries. Use this range to your advantage in order to avoid as much damage as possible while focusing the carries of the opposing team. Raynor lacks mobility besides his lvl 7 10% movement buff, so you are going to have to dodge skill shot cc and backup when people start getting closer to you.
