2/11/2015 - This guide needs a rework after the 2/10 Vikings patch. At the moment the only current build is Trisklyr's right click build from his stream last night.
To begin with I take NO credit for any of these builds. They are all taken from the Heroes community sites and pros. This guide will be a compilation of top tier builds for players wanting to maximize their characters and having all necessary info in one place.
A friend of mine recently got into the beta and after reviewing the gold they could earn easily in the first night of play my suggestion was play free heroes until you reach account level 4 at which point you will be sitting on over 2k gold. At this point you will be able to purchase Valla. From there I'd suggest leveling her up getting your account level to 10. This will give you another 4k+ gold. I'd spend this on Tychus or another 4k gold hero you'd like to play. I'd spend some time learning these heroes as they are both potent and fairly easy to play. In short...
Get to account level 4
Buy Valla
Play Valla until you reach account level 10
Buy Tychus
Certainly I'm not saying this is the best way to spend your gold for everyone, but if you want to play top tier inexpensive heroes as a damage dealer this is probably the quickest route into that role.
With First Aid, Stoneskin & Odin you can take a tremendous amount of punishment before going down. Melting point does insane damage PvE and is generally better than any of the other tier 2 talents. If you want to go full PvP picking up Spray'n'Pray is a decent option but the boost to your 'nade with Melting Point is far more valuable. Throw your grenade on walls or waves whenever you can once you get this ability. It also affords you the ability to toss it on a wave and then go soak another lane while the enemy minions die and you still get due to the DoT effect.
The only real options are the tier 5 talent where you can go for lead rain or relentlessness depending of if you feel you need to go more offensive of defensive based on how your team is doing and the opposing team's composition.
Cloud 9's Zuna provides an excellent tutorial on how to play Tychus here:
This build focuses on making your W incredibly strong and using auto-attacks to be able to W more frequently. Don't forget to blood for blood once you start taking damage after you get it at tier 6. Not much to say otherwise, Valla is a strong hero that is easy to play and quick to learn.
Evenom gives Arthas strength early and the sustain offered by his ultimate is second to none. Turn on your E, pop army of the dead and get in the enemy team's face and start spamming R, death coiling yourself and popping stone shield while you soak what feels like infinite damage. Make sure to give yourself time to back out before exhausting all of your ghouls.
The split push build takes a lot of the strong Abathur talents that focus on split pushing while the Q-per hero build mixes focuses on picking up several of the strong Symbiote abilities.
For the most part Uther's talents are fairly cut and dry with 2 exceptions. Tier 3 Clairvoyance and Cleanse are both incredibly strong and useful and should be picked situationally. Clairvoyance is the easier ability to use and can help greatly in matches facing stealth heroes so I've made it the default pick here. Tier 6 Hardened Focus, Gathering Radiance and Imposing Presence are all strong picks. Hardened Focus & Gathering Radiance are great when you are ahead and/or your team can keep you safe while Imposing Presence is a great pick when you are getting focused to help stymie the opposing teams damage output. Presence is also better when facing against auto attack heavy teams.
